Pros:

bigger boops, normal skin type, normal hair instead oily, get rid of pimples, no painful acne

Cons:

wieght gain, mood swings really, drier lips, appetizing

my doctor suggested me to use those pills for my acne problem for over years.i tried almost everything except roaccutane and they didnt work on my skin.acnes came & came again.they were too stubborn even more than me.then i used diane 35 for 3 months and now i am using 4th box, it is obvious that my skin is more clear than before and not too many pimples, just before my period one or two appear but quickly recover.also my oily hair become normal and it is light feeling not to be dirty for over 3 days without bathing=)yes those pills making bad effect on my psychological health, simple example is i am crying sometimes while watching stupid soap operas, my emotinal balance is not very balanced=)but although these disadvantagous i am happy without lots of pimples on my skin and it has not oily looking anymore.additionally, if u dont exercise properly or drink special teas for overliquid holding in ur body with those pills u gain weight..of course every people have different mechanism and different reactions, but you have to be patient and use those for less 3 months and ask doctor again with the adv and disadv, and see the results.

Pros:

clear skin

Cons:

weight gain, and once you stop taking diane 35, your hair on your head falls out

I have been on Diane 36 for 6 months. It was great in keeping my skin smooth, it wasn't that bad to begin with though. I stopped taking Diane after 6 months because I gained about 8lbs with it.. and I didn't like the way it made me feel. Three months after stopping, the hair on my head is falling out. It has been two months and is still falling out. I lost half my hair already but from what I heard, it is common for that to happen. I hope it will grow back. You got to weigh your option.. If it wasn't for the hairloss, i would say it is a great birth control, but my hair is important to me so for me it is not a choice.

Pros:

acne cleared up almost completely
face wasn't so shiny by the end of the day

Cons:

acne has come back wayyy worse after stopping

I thought it was a miracle while I was on it, but once my health insurance changed and it was no longer covered I couldn't afford it. It has been a few months since I stopped and my skin is worse than ever. I have deep cystic acne all over my chin as well as regular pimples everywhere else. I went back to my doctor and he said because of the controversy, diane might not even be on the market much longer. My skin is pretty much addicted, and now I'm stuck with this mess.

Pros:

fewer smaller pimples without inflammation, less oily skin

Cons:

Decreased libido, bloated feeling, "massive hair loss!!"

I started taking Diane 35 after 2 sittings of glycolic peels left me with huge inflammed never drying pimples mainly on my cheeks! they were horribly angry looking pimples. I ditched my dermat and decided to take Diane. It worked wonder. Quickly dried up my acne, very few small non-inflammed pimples. I was happy, it was working! But during 1 week of gap I noticed my hair falling out like a thick ribbon!! I cried all morning :,( I discontinued it after that and now started isotretinoin from another dermat. But my roomie took Diane 35 for 5-6 months. She didnt had hair loss and is relatively pimple free for abt 1 and half yr. She also had moderately severe acne on face, back and chest, with family history. So, i say, try it .... and if u've hair loss like me discontinue it. But if no major side effect then it's the best! Good luck!

Pros:

- acne cleared up within a couple months
- no mood swings or depression (that I noticed at least)
- no babies (it is now approved to use as birth control in Canada)

Cons:

- after being on it for about 6 months my hair started falling out a lot
- gained about 10 lbs (but lost it fairly quickly)

I was put on Diane 35 by my dermatologist for acne (although I later used it for actual birth control), after trying many topical treatments as well as oral medications such as tetracycline and minocycline I think it was called? At first I thought it was great, before I started the Diane 35 my forehead was constantly covered in a whole bunch of really small pimples, and those all went away within a couple months. However last winter I noticed my hair started falling out a lot more than usual (if I ran my fingers through my hair I would be pulling out clumps, and I was clogging the shower drain). When it didn't stop when winter was over (originally I thought my scalp might just be dry or something), and after going through a whole bunch of blood tests, my doctor thought it might have been caused by the Diane pills. So I just switched a couple weeks ago to ortho-lo. I didn't know other people were having the hair loss problem also with Diane, and I was wondering if there was someone who could tell me how long after they stopped the pill until their hair stopped falling out?? So I would watch for the hair loss problem, but otherwise it worked great for acne!

Pros:

-Cystic acne on neck and back disappeared completely
-Mild acne on face (mostly chin and cheeks) and chest disappeared almost completely

Cons:

-Constant yeast infections after having sex
-Tender breasts when I first started it
-NO SEX DRIVE - it went down to zero after being on it for awhile

This was the best birth control pill I found for my cystic acne. (I've had three courses of Accutane - at age 18, 25, and 30- and my cystic acne would still come back just as bad as before about a year after each treatment). It didn't seem to affect my emotions negatively like other bcps (Yasmin and Yaz were the worst ones I tried). But no sex drive and yeast infections are bad side effects so I have had to get off it whenever I have a boyfriend. I know people with acne can be desperate for a solution - so it's worth a try but watch to see if you get bad side effects.

Pros:

the nausea has stopped!!!
a little weight gain (yes thats a good thing)
no PMS!! yay!!!

Cons:

boobs are really tender
still some acne
skin is drying out a little

I'm back and ready to be brutally honest about this product! at the time of my first review i had been on Diana 35 for a month that was about 2 months ago and to tell you the truth not much has changed....which leads me to believe that this product will work really well for it's indented use as a BC but if you looking for immediate relief from acne then this is not the direction you should be headed in. i do believe that it does work (just slowly) because every week i see a little less redness and a little less acne, iv also been using a very good moisturising face soap and i dont wear make up in the week anymore (that helps!!!!) but all in all i have faith in Diane and I'm patient, good things that last take time...if people dont like what they see then they shouldn't look! XD

Pros:

- No new acne (face completely cleared in conjunction with tretinoin in few months)
- Oil production greatly reduced
- Slower regrowth of facial hair after waxing
- Oral contraceptive

Cons:

- Hair loss
- Depression, suicidal thoughts, moodiness (which completely go away between pill packs)
- Horrible acne recurrence if get off

I love Diane 35, but if you get off it, your acne will recur, and it will be worse than before. It says that you need to gradually come off of Diane 35, but it's difficult to do because it may affect your menstrual cycle. The depression, suicidal thoughts and moodiness are hard to ignore, but I get through it by remembering that I usually do not have these signs/symptoms, and that I am getting rid of my acne. Also, they go away between pill packs. I am most troubled by the hair loss. I had very thick hair, and after a year's usage, my hair is about 1/3 less thick. I am worried that my hair will get even thinner. I would not recommend getting on this pill despite its benefits simply because this pill seems to be getting phased out with no alternative on the market.

Pros:

Good BC, Normal skin condition

Cons:

Breathrough Bleeding!!
Getting Hungry most of the time

Hi, I've been on this pills for about 2 months for BC. I'm married with 2 kids and my doctor prescibe me with this for BC. I had normal skin condition, so I dun see any changes on my skin conditions, so far so good. No other cons except for slight nauseas and headache first seven days of usage. Was hungry most of the time, but guess it could be controlled if you had your meals right. However, i had terrible breakthrough bleeding!! Have anyone had this same problem!! The pills is to be started on the 1st day of your menses and my menses has been continuous ever since, its normal flow not even light. I've check with my doctor and she want me to continue for 3 months before calling an end to it. I really hope the breakthrough bleeding will stop real soon and so I do not need to try other BC method.
