Pros:

- 80% clear on face
- Cleared chest acne

Cons:

- Weight gain
- Made me really bloated...

My skin suddenly broke out like crazy one day (forehead, cheeks) and I was looking for a potentially long-term option as opposed to antibiotics which wear off. I was prescribed Estelle 35, a generic version of Diane. Skin was pretty crap until about 3 months later, but along with that, I gained around 8 kilos. I'm usually petite, around 43 kg with a fast metabolism, and this pill pretty much killed me...It also made me really bloated and gassy (sorry, that's a little gross to say but just warning you guys.) I'm going to give it up soon because I hate feeling so swollen all the time.

Pros:

- reduced acne and facial oil
- finer skin, smaller pores
- larger breasts (mainly due to overall weight gain)

Cons:

- severe weight gain (15lbs)
- cellulose (especially around
- bloating of the stomach
- irregular periods
- nausea (especially in the morning)

I was on this drug for around 4 months, and it ended up clearing up all my acne and I had much finer skin (most noticeably the size reduction of facial pores). However, I only started noticing a significant difference at around 1.5 months into the course; thinner/finer skin, smoother appearance and feel, especially around the nose area. However one of the major downsides after 1-2 months of consumption of the drug was the weight gain, as well as the build-up of cellulose and fat around the thighs, lower waste, face(cheeks started to bloat significantly), and an increased layer of fat above the abdomen. I strongly DO NOT recommend this product to those who are insecure or relatively sensitive about their body weight. Only resort to this drug if you are suffering from severe acne. There are other drugs out there that can improve your skin and not cause you to bloat.

Pros:

Got rid of all acne
Regulated period

Cons:

Worsened period pain
Weight Gain
Feeling of depression/mood swings

I started taking Diane at 14, after 4 years of periods that were inconsistent, but usually about a week apart. I was also having painful acne. I have been taking Diane for over a year now. Initially the results were great, but gradually I had put on over 10kg. Also, I had not had much period pain before the pill, but now I am in pain up to 24 hours before my period and lasting for the remainder. I have had times of depression, ranging in severity, and have actually pinpointed it to a particular point in my cycle, which never happened before. The results do part, especially with acne ( I love my skin) but as for the rest of it :( I am soon changing to another pill.

Pros:

- No new acne (face completely cleared in conjunction with tretinoin in few months)
- Oil production greatly reduced
- Slower regrowth of facial hair after waxing
- Oral contraceptive

Cons:

- Hair loss
- Depression, suicidal thoughts, moodiness (which completely go away between pill packs)
- Horrible acne recurrence if get off

I love Diane 35, but if you get off it, your acne will recur, and it will be worse than before. It says that you need to gradually come off of Diane 35, but it's difficult to do because it may affect your menstrual cycle. The depression, suicidal thoughts and moodiness are hard to ignore, but I get through it by remembering that I usually do not have these signs/symptoms, and that I am getting rid of my acne. Also, they go away between pill packs. I am most troubled by the hair loss. I had very thick hair, and after a year's usage, my hair is about 1/3 less thick. I am worried that my hair will get even thinner. I would not recommend getting on this pill despite its benefits simply because this pill seems to be getting phased out with no alternative on the market.

Cons:

more oily skin

i've been on accutane for about a year and a half and my pharmacist prescribed me to diane because accutane has too many side effects, i've been on diane for about a month and i remember my doctor warning me that on the first month of use my acne will be worse than this, so yeah,, it has become worse, my menstruation also won't ever stop and it's been almost 3 weeks!!! i dont know if i should continue on taking diane for couple of months to see if it really works for me,,, cos if it doesn't work, then its a complete waste of time!!

Pros:

acne cleared up almost completely
face wasn't so shiny by the end of the day

Cons:

acne has come back wayyy worse after stopping

I thought it was a miracle while I was on it, but once my health insurance changed and it was no longer covered I couldn't afford it. It has been a few months since I stopped and my skin is worse than ever. I have deep cystic acne all over my chin as well as regular pimples everywhere else. I went back to my doctor and he said because of the controversy, diane might not even be on the market much longer. My skin is pretty much addicted, and now I'm stuck with this mess.

Pros:

-Cystic acne on neck and back disappeared completely
-Mild acne on face (mostly chin and cheeks) and chest disappeared almost completely

Cons:

-Constant yeast infections after having sex
-Tender breasts when I first started it
-NO SEX DRIVE - it went down to zero after being on it for awhile

This was the best birth control pill I found for my cystic acne. (I've had three courses of Accutane - at age 18, 25, and 30- and my cystic acne would still come back just as bad as before about a year after each treatment). It didn't seem to affect my emotions negatively like other bcps (Yasmin and Yaz were the worst ones I tried). But no sex drive and yeast infections are bad side effects so I have had to get off it whenever I have a boyfriend. I know people with acne can be desperate for a solution - so it's worth a try but watch to see if you get bad side effects.

Pros:

Good BC, Normal skin condition

Cons:

Breathrough Bleeding!!
Getting Hungry most of the time

Hi, I've been on this pills for about 2 months for BC. I'm married with 2 kids and my doctor prescibe me with this for BC. I had normal skin condition, so I dun see any changes on my skin conditions, so far so good. No other cons except for slight nauseas and headache first seven days of usage. Was hungry most of the time, but guess it could be controlled if you had your meals right. However, i had terrible breakthrough bleeding!! Have anyone had this same problem!! The pills is to be started on the 1st day of your menses and my menses has been continuous ever since, its normal flow not even light. I've check with my doctor and she want me to continue for 3 months before calling an end to it. I really hope the breakthrough bleeding will stop real soon and so I do not need to try other BC method.

Pros:

bigger boops, normal skin type, normal hair instead oily, get rid of pimples, no painful acne

Cons:

wieght gain, mood swings really, drier lips, appetizing

my doctor suggested me to use those pills for my acne problem for over years.i tried almost everything except roaccutane and they didnt work on my skin.acnes came & came again.they were too stubborn even more than me.then i used diane 35 for 3 months and now i am using 4th box, it is obvious that my skin is more clear than before and not too many pimples, just before my period one or two appear but quickly recover.also my oily hair become normal and it is light feeling not to be dirty for over 3 days without bathing=)yes those pills making bad effect on my psychological health, simple example is i am crying sometimes while watching stupid soap operas, my emotinal balance is not very balanced=)but although these disadvantagous i am happy without lots of pimples on my skin and it has not oily looking anymore.additionally, if u dont exercise properly or drink special teas for overliquid holding in ur body with those pills u gain weight..of course every people have different mechanism and different reactions, but you have to be patient and use those for less 3 months and ask doctor again with the adv and disadv, and see the results.
