Pros:

Works well as a birth control pill.
Cleared up my face more than anything else I tried, although still got breakouts, just not as bad and not as often.

Cons:

Excessive weight gain... I lost 30 pounds before going on the Dianne 35 when I was 18, and after I got on it, I gained the 30 back, plus another 30. Even with plenty of exercise and healthy diet, it is very hard for me to lose the weight while on it

Worked okay for my face, didn't clear everything up, but it was not worth it for the weight gain. I didn't have to pay anything because I have a health plan that covered it, but if I did have to pay, $50 is not worth it, especially if you're just going to gain weight!

Pros:

headaches (in the beggining), hairloss

Cons:

beautiful skin

If you major concern is acne (mine was not severe, it was medium) then it might be a good idea to start on Diane 35. You have to use it for more than six months to see results. But once you stop using it, the acne comes back only two months after you stopped. The hairloss was not good. I had a beautiful waivy strong hair and now it's less full and straight. But my skin? Gorgeous!! Therefore I recommend it only as a acne treatment, not as a birth control pill.

i was on Diane for 7 months. As soon as i started taking it i instantly noticed a diference in my skin. No more pimples. ive had bad acne ever since i was 14 and now im 21 and nothing else has worked. If only this was the case. Nearly every day of taking the pill i was nauseas and just felt ill all over. I didnt think it was the pill but as soon as i got of it, the sickness stopped. Straight away ive had very irreguler periods. Its all messed up and all over the place. Oh and the pimples are back!! I recommend not to use this pill as it will onnly make u worse in the long run.

Pros:

Gained a more shapely body and cleared up my acne.

Cons:

The sudden weight gain gave me stretch marks on my thighs and they're here to stay.
Intense PMS-Wild mood swings. I'm off the pill now and my mood during PMS is much better.

I like Diane35 and will use it again in the future I just did not realize it would change my body so much and would have liked to be informed before given the prescription.

I'll have to wait to see the results
I've been struggling with acne for almost 8 years and there has definitely been ups and downs. I was looking back at photos from two years ago and my skin looked much better. I'm now 20 but my acne came back probably because I have been stressing from uni. I went to the GP and was recommended Estelle 35 for the sake of contraception and acne treatment. I just finished my first pack but I have been getting more cystic acne around my jawline and there are about 8 of them at the moment. I know, terrifying! I also have a lot of whiteheads around my mouth, and my skin around my eyes, nose, and mouth are very dry, and I have flakes all around them. I just read the review saying it will take time( 4-6 months) so I'll definitely have to see what Diane 35 will do to my skin!

I just want clear skin NOW because I feel so fugly...
I've just recently started taking Chelsea-35 (generic brand) this month due to my PCOS. I've tried everything to cure my cystic acne around my chin and jaw line. I'm a vegan who eats very clean, I've tried so many over the counter products as well as antibiotics. I've been trying to cure this naturally but there is no hope when it comes to dealing with hormones. My doctor said I should take accutane but I'm so against taking it. It seems to be a short term cure rather than a long term one. Diane-35 was prescribed and the first week, my acne seemed the die down. Now, on my third week, my face has completely exploded. I avoid mirrors in public and really don't like looking at myself in the mirror at any point in time. I seriously can't bare how my face looks. From what I've read, this OCP seems to take an average of 4 months to kick in but I just want a fast solution! I feel so awful about myself but I think (and hope) this is the right solution and I just need to be patient. Any advice or similar situations?

I've heard vitex is also a good supplement for women with PCOS to take but should I combine so many pills at once?

Pros:

Larger breasts, clearer skin..

Cons:

many headsches, mood swings, severe fatigue, and terrible weight gain.

Diane 35 was recomended to me by my dermatologist. I was on Yaz with no bad symptoms. I switched to Diane 35 to help get rid of my acne. It wasn't all over but my forehead and chin would get these terribly painful cystic like pimples. So far its been over a month and my skin is slowly clearing up but for me the cons are outweighing the pro's. I have gained about 13 pounds in a month. I have always weighed between 105-108 and right now I'm at 122!!!! It is ridiculous! And decreased sex drive! So sorry ladies but I suggest another option!

Pros:

Shorter, less painful periods

Cons:

Mood swings, depression, weight gain, loss of libido

My family doc recommended Diane-35 after having tried everything over the counter and other prescribed drugs. I took it for 4 mths then stopped. It worked then but the acne came back soon after I stopped. When I started visiting my present dermatologist, she insisted that it would work and prescribed it. I have been taking it now for 5 mths and if anything, the acne is worse. Huge painful pimples and even after 2 facial peels, my skin still looks awful. In addition, my legs feel cramped and I have put on weight. As a matter of fact, I am on a combination of diane-35 and doxycycline and some other med I am supposed to take for the first 12 days of the pill. uite frankly, results vary. It works for some, it doesn't for others. I am giving it another month and if things don't change, I am getting off. It would be nice to have a little desire for sex. That too has lessened significantly.

Pros:

clear and glowing skin

Cons:

mood swings, hungrier than before, headaches!

I've only been on the pill for 10 days and already people are telling me how great I look , my face is clearing up and glowing , I'm very happy! I'm hungrier than before , but that's not bad for me cause I'm 5ft 7 in and I weigh 108 pounds , so a few extra pounds should help me look better. I am having some mood swings and at night I get headaches , but until now that's all I really have to say about it. I'll come back and let you all know how the final results turne out . I'm 35 and have been struggling with the acne for quite some yrs. , tried just about everything , so I'm very excited!
