My experience with Diane
I have been on Diane-35 for almost 6 years now. I am 22 years old, and my family doctor prescribed me this medication in high school mainly to cure my acne but also to be used as a contraceptive because no other birth control properly regulated my period. I must say, for all of you who are skeptical about this drug... It works wonders. It did take about 6 months for me to start seeing a change in my skin, but after that, my skin was nearly free of pimples (I would still get a few every now and then), and it has been that way for 6 years. Aside from merely its benefits of curing acne, I cannot express enough how perfect it is for period and hormone regulation. After the 6 month point, I can honestly say that my period has been so regular that I will know exactly what day of the month (and even approximate time of day) I will get my period, and I know exactly what to expect of my moods/skin at different points in the cycle. It has been life-changing. HOWEVER, this is where my concern starts to come in. I've noticed that my hair throughout the years has been thinning dramatically and does not ever grow past a certain length. I use heat on my hair probably once every couple of days, and wash my hair about twice a week (I promise it's not gross; the natural oils make it healthy). So I know that can't possibly be the issue. It's gotten to the point where I got my hair dresser to put in sew-in extensions to make my hair thicker because I feel like I have no hair on my head. I am Italian mixed with Arabic, so you can probably guess that thick, long hair runs in my family. Recently I've read reviews about Diane about women complaining that they've lost close to 70% of their hair by the age of 30... and this freaks me right out. I went to the doctor about it and he prescribed me Tri-Cyclen (28) which I am hesitant to start taking because it didn't seem like he had any idea where my concern was and my body is so used to Diane at this point. If anyone has any insights PLEASE do enlighten me!!

Pros:

Consistently clear skin
Eliminated severe menstrual pain
Contraceptive

Cons:

None

This completely cleared my skin in approx a month. I suffered from acne which would become dramatically worse the week before my period. My skin is clear, smooth and more vibrant. Also needs very little maintenance to keep it clear. No negative side effects for me, and it also has the benefit of birth control. Completely eliminated severe cramps and pain from periods as well.

Pros:

The clearest skin imaginable which in turn boosted my confidence and self esteem

Cons:

Nothing but a slightly decreased sex drive

I was on this pill for about 5 years and it was the best decision I ever made. I had porcelain skin with so many comments from my family and friends about how good looked. I thendecided to get off it as I didn't want to keep pumping my body with hormones. It didn't help that at the time I had the stress of starting a new job and the break up with the boyfriend. That worse the worst decision I ever made, my acne came back with a vegence. So after 6 months of trying to fight this off with new cleansers and vitamins and constantly crying myself to sleep I've gone back on it. I've been on it for 2months and I haven't seen any major improvements, there has been a slight reduction in the pimples I'm getting, instead of waking up with 5 new pimples everyday I'm only getting 2 or 3 a week, but I still have tons of red marks that I know will face. Bottom line is that this will work trust me, but don't expect over night miracles, give it at least 4 months and you will be so happy and confident in your own skin again

Pros:

Good BC
Weight Gain (which is good for me)
Boobs enlargement (for a while)

Cons:

Severe mood swings
Depression
My pimples are showing by large!

It was a good BC I think since nothing happened with me. But it came worst when I stopped it. I had vaginal infection, breakthrough bleeding or bleeding between periods, my mood is very terrible and I was always depressed and felt paranoid. Though it gave me a good shape, since I was really very slender, now I gained weight. But for me it wasn't a cure to my acne, it worsened it. I cleared out my face through a clearing soap I've used. To sum it all, I give Diane 50% yes to BC, and 50% no to acne treatment. Well, this is just in my case. I believe it is situational, as I read through the articles above.

Cons:

cellulite, acne will get worse if you stop, nausea

i have been on and off this pill for almost 5 years and i can say that it has helped me and yet destroyed me. right now, my hair is sooo freakin thin, my acne is worse than before...if you dont take it on time. it will haunt u. my skin was pretty clear for all those years of taking it..and since it was getting clear, i forget to take some tablets at times. my bad. my acne came back.and right now im taking it religiously. it has been almost 1 month but i dont see significant results.hopefully my old skin will come back in 3 months. i am sad because i want to stop taking this pill..sooner or later i would start a family and get pregnant. i really hate what this pill is doing to me. i am just sooo sad right now. to those who found other alternatives of clearing their skin when stopping this pill...pls let me know. i would love to hear from u. TY!!

Diane 35 + androcure worked great

Pros:

smooth, clear, flawless skin
bigger boobs

Cons:

put on weight (4 kilos)
headaches, fatigue, and low libido at first (get better then)

I started a treatment on the 25th of July (1st day of my cycle) - I had severe acne (chin, cheeks, jawline, to the ears, forehead, etc.) - 1 tablet of Diane 35 a day for 21 days - 2 tablets (100mg) of androcure a day the first 10 days of the cycle - 7 days of rest I did that for three cycles and saw my skin clearing up from the very first cycle, after getting worst the ten first days of the treatment. By the third cycle my skin was completely clear, only with scars to treat and the odd very small pimple. On my fourth cycle I reduced to 1 tablet of 50 mg of androcure instead of 2 (still only the ten first days of the cycle), and my skin is still amazingly clear and smooth. I am going to reduce again to half a tablet next cycle, and go on reducing until I am only on Diane 35. I LOVE this treatment, it really saved my skin and self-confidence. I felt terrible with very severe acne, couldn't get rid of it.... Felt very self conscious, etc. I am back to my real self with a normal skin and that's amazing. There are a few side effects but honestly I don't mind, I have my dream skin now and just have to heal the scars. The sides effects I noticed are: at first, very tensed boobs, put on weight, increased appetite, headaches, fatigue, dryness downbelow, low libido, but it settled down, (I think it's due to androcure but the aim is not to stay on androcure forever but to reduce it progressively once the symptoms disappear). I made the mistake to give up healthy diet as I knew my skin would heal anyway (no need to stick to healthy food anymore) and that's why I put on weight I think. If you fight the appetite at first and stick to healthy diet, you'll be fine, it will settled down. I truly recommend it, it's amazing. Pr Eden in Australia did research on this treatment for severe acne on women with or without PCOS and found excellent results in virtually 100% of the cases. So no situation is desperate, we are very lucky to be women and be able to access these kind of treatments. Men can't take it.

So I have only just now started my 2nd pack of Diane 35 but am already a huge fan. I highly recommend this BCP for those that have Hormonal Acne! I am 25 and have been struggling with sever and consistent acne since I was 14. I am one of those people like many of you out there that have literally tried every acne product known to man. Again, this is a great pill for those with hormonal acne...acne and cystic acne on the chin, jaw and even the upper neck. I get two or three breakouts a year on my cheeks/forehead. I also had a hormone test done and was found to have elevated levels of free testosterone. Again, I have only been on this pill for a month and can already see major differences. I would sometimes wake up with 2 or 3 new zits a day and am now getting 2 or 3 a week. My horrible cystic acne that I would get has completely stopped...I am only getting random small whiteheads now. Reading about the other girls weight increases I can understand, I have noticed an increase in my appetite and an increase in dry skin on my entire body not just my face, but nothing lotion can't fix. If you have hormonal acne like me give this a chance! I have to order it from a Canadian Pharmacy that obviously doesn't take American insurance but its still only $20 a month so so worth it. I literally spent so many weekends of my life not wanting to go out and have fun because I was embarrassed of my acne, but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! Will update in a few months when I'm sure it will be even better!
