Pros:

cleared my skin a bit
Reasonable price w/ a health plan

Cons:

pimples come back (not consistent)

I have been on it for three weeks, my skin will be bad on my forehead one week and the next it will be okay, then its bad again. I am on differin at night and clindoxyl gel in the morning. I don't have severe severe acne but it really bothers me :( Has anyone else experienced this!? Also, I cannot accurately recommend this b.c I havent been on it for too long.

Pros:

clears acne ( in 6 wks for me )

Cons:

bloating, headaches, thrush, cant come off it easily, health hazards ( dvt / stroke etc ) weight gain, mood swings.

I have been on this pill for 8 years. When i went on it i had tried everything to rid myself of really serious acne. although my face has been clear many years now i still remember having a mirror full of puss everyday and tight hot painful red acne all over my face, its was so emmbarresing i had no life. This pill was a miracle for me, my skin gradually cleared untill at aprox 6 wks i had no spots, wonderful feeling i can tell you. This pill is a miracle for any acne sufferers out there but is not without a price ( see side effects ) my problem is now i wish to come off this pill i cant seem to. By 5/6 wks after i have stopped it i am hit by the most crippling depression, i have written my suiside notes...seriously, I have tried 3 times to stop now and on each occation this has happened untill i give in and start taking again. I cannot understand this and really dont know what to do. I wish i had never started on it now and would swap and have my acne back in a heart beat.

Pros:

Did clear up skin, some healthy weight gain

Cons:

Very large breasts, acne came back after I stopped, very expensive if you don't have a plan.

Was on Diane for over 2 years and my skin WAS perfect but not long after I went off of it and switched to Yas my skin broke out and I then totally went off all forms of BC after being on Yas for two months...not taking any my skin was OK not perfect but just ok. Now I've been taking Yas again for the past 3 months and my acne has become unbearable so I'm switching mid month back onto Diane I guess. I know this is not a review for Yas but man what a horrible pill. Not only is my skin breaking out but I have headaches now, I've gotten skinner, and I'm very irritable. GOD I hate acne, why isn't there a cure yet?!?!?!?!? I can't just stay on Diane for the rest of my life lol

Pros:

After using Diane for a month I noticed that my skin started clearing up and was less oily. I didn't have any Side affect. On for 6 mths den stopped after my skin totally cleared.

Cons:

6 mths after stoppiong Diane My Skin is going haywire Breaking out 2x as bad as before. Feel miserable and always tire. Skin always oily and itchie.(irrated) No sex drive.

Diane worked for my acne. But once I stopped it came back 2x as bad. I'm going to the dr. tmr to get prescription for Diane again. I cannot stand my skin looking and feeling soo horrilbe (sandpaper texture). Don't want to go out. Wear more making now to cover the acne. It works wonder for your acne but once you stop its a nightmare. I'm just soo scarred that I have to depend on this. Just wish there's a natural way to cure it. (but I head you can't if it's hormal) =(.

Pros:

It cleared me zits up completly in 2 months, and I haven't had one since I've been on it for 5 months

Cons:

Very bad depression and weight gain

I have never suffered from a day of depression in my whole life, and my life is better then it's ever been! For no reason at all the last two months I have been very depressed crying all the time I can't understand why then I relised it was the birth control, I'm 25 years old and I would take all the pimples in the world over the dression and mood swings this gives me. It could be differnet for others but I would diffenlty watch for any changes in your mood! Hope this helps.

Pros:

Decreased ovarian cysts, body/facial hair growth, works well as birth control

Cons:

Excessive weight gain (20 lbs over 5 years), high blood pressure as a side effect, increased headaches and migraines, loss of sex drive, risk of blood clots & stroke

My doctor put me on this medication to treat Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It was effective at reducing my painful ovarian cysts and body hair growth (symptom of the syndrome). I did have difficulty managing my weight while on the medication, despite being a very active person. I gained about 20+ lbs over the five years I used this medication. I also experienced migraines and severe headaches while on this medication, although it is possible the medication is not to blame. I am now off the medication, as my husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I've been off now for one month and have noticed that my skin is more oily then it was when on Diane, and that I have more pimples (although I never had terrible skin, so I don't consider these pimples to be beyond normal). This medication has a lot of pros and cons, some of those pros are great, but some of the cons are very risky. I will likely not return to this medication after I have a baby.

Pros:

Clear skin, less oily.

Cons:

Weight gain (8kg), sometimes feel bloated.

I am 18 years old. I am 5 feet 1 inch tall. I started taking diane 35 about a year and a half ago (so around june 2006..) I took it because I had light acne and I hate having acne. It took about 2 months for my acne to clear up, but it has also made me gain a lot of weight. I used to weigh 102 pounds and I now weigh 120 pounds, so I gained 8kg. Because of that I stopped taking it a few months ago, but a month and a half after I stopped taking it my acne came back, but it was very light. I started taking it again because I can't stand having acne. But I just read something about the risks about diane 35 that I wanted to share. I am going to stop taking it right now. PLEASE take the time to read this : [link edited out] If the link does not work, go on google and type diane 35 deaths. Pros:

Takes care of my acne and regulates my period. No weight gain, or period pain and minimal bloating. Also my leg hair barely grows anymore- making shaving a cinch!

Cons:

Some emotional instability and the constant need to apologize for it, occasional weeping and dizziness.

I have tried to switch to another birth control pill but have way too much breakthrough bleeding and my acne really came back with a veng

The pill is great but I would rather have some sense of emotional stability. When I tried to switch to another pill (Yasmin) for 4 months, the annoying breakthrough bleeding that I experienced, was just way too much to handle. I was having about 3 two day periods a month- at any surprising time! Also my acne came back about 5 times worse than it ever was- so I was a bleeding spotty mess- and that caused emotional swings on its own (although at least I knew and could explain the reason why I was upset) The dizziness is a bit odd too- I have fainted on a few occasions and have a hard time standing in lines, at say the grocery store or the bank, without feeling like I am going to faint. Also its expensive and student plans don't cover it but thankfully my doctor managed to find me some free samples. So would I take it knowing what I know now..... probably not. As soon as I have time for the surprise periods again I am going to try to switch.
