Pros:

Keeps my acne under control, regulates periods, dont get pregnant :)

Cons:

I have noticed I've been getting a lot of headaches around my period, and my appetite is a bit up and down, sometimes I'm really hungry sometimes I don't want to eat at all. I am also very depressed. I don't know if these are related though.

I had possibly the world's worst acne until I went on Dianette which was a miracle, I changed to Yasmin about 6 months ago and my skin hasn't really changed much, so I assume its doing pretty much the same job. I have had some problems with headaches, appetite and depression, but I am predisposed to depression anyway and I have moved to a new country so there are several other factors. Basically I KNOW if I come off Yasmin I will be back to the TERRIBLE skin I used to have, so I'm sticking with it!! It does appear to be different for other people though, so it depends on the person. Works GREAT for me though.

Pros:

Decreased acne noticeably and quickly, effective birth control, light short periods

Cons:

pre-menstral moodiness and tension not improved.

After dealing with moderate acne for over a year using Levlen BC pill...I finally switched to Yasmin and now have light and manageable acne after 4 months and I hope it will get even better. The improvement was rapid and I felt and looked much better after 2 months. I would recommmend switching to this if you are on a traditional pill and dealing with bad acne - chances are that the problem is hormonal.

Pros:

Prevents acne, lessens oil (just a bit)

Cons:

Inital breakout

I'm on my 3rd month of OCELLA, the generic version. Luckily I know the cause of my acne, which is due to too many androgens/imbalanced hormones. The first two months of this pill, I did have an initial breakout--but I stuck with it. The IB has gradually been decreasing and I'm expecting it to stop completely by the end of Month 4. I noticed a significant decrease in oil on my face the first two months, but now it is now less significant (not sure why; maybe the chaning of the seasons). I DID NOT have any of the typical negative effects of birth control...nausea, headaches, etc. It was smooth sailing from the start (this is my first time on BC). Oh and my periods last only 3 or 4 days! So basically this birth control have been "my cure". I usually don't review things for fear or jinxing them, but I had to add my positive experience for the benefit of others...I now *knock on wood* after this whole review!

Pros:

Didn't get pregnant and got my period on time.

Cons:

My boobs got HUGEE. They grew about a cup size in a month, but they are very sore. I have also been really moody, and have woken up almost every night for the past two weeks with night sweats! I also gained about 5 pounds, especially on my hips&tumm

I am not taking it anymore....the cons are too much for me. I DON'T recommend Yasmin!

Pros:

bigger boobs
skin cleared up (it got worse for about a month or two and then cleared up almost completely)

Cons:

heavier periods, bad cramps and muscle aches,
cellulite formed on my butt/thighs even though im not overweight ??

It's alright, does the job but worsened my period symptoms. It took a while but cleared up my skin nicely. I'm a teenager though so I'm thinking of switching to something lighter like allesse...

Pros:

Lighter, virtually cramp-free periods. No other odd side effects noted. Fairly decent at controlling hormone-related acne. Reduced excess facial hair.

Cons:

Missing a pill will guarantee spotting. Frequent vaginal infections. Some hormone-related breakouts, which are related to taking the pill correctly.

I have been taking this particular brand of BCP since going off Accutane in March of '06, along with Tazorac cream (.1%). For the most part, I found it to be an agreeable pill, with virtually no side-effects. However, I do seem to be more prone to vaginal infections--which is annoying. Also, the effectiveness of this BCP in controlling hormonal acne is tied to how regularly you take the pill. This last mont, after my period, I forgot to take my pills for a few days and tried to double up to get myself back to where I should be at this point hormonally for my cycle. Because of that, I wound up with a bit of a flare that I haven't seen since pre-Accutane. Honestly, I only had one seriously inflammed pimple with a smattering of smaller, barely noticeable ones. But it upset me, because the very inflammed one occurred in one of my old trouble spots that I had issues with before going on Accutane. A good pill for me, but you must be willing to take it at the same time every day.

Pros:

No weight gain
No pregnancy

Cons:

Slight nauseous feeling in the mornings

I was on Yasmin for over two years when I changed location and doctors. The new doctor decided to put me on Microgynon 30 which hasn't agreed with me at all, and I shall be going back to Yasmin as soon as possible. Don't know if it clears up skin - I've never had a problem with my skin.

Pros:

my acne decreased in a month or so

Cons:

i have been moody for the past few weeks, but i don't know if it's because of yasmin

I only took this for my pimples, which have almost disappeared. Apparently it has something to do with hormones, so i don't break out or produce that bacteria anymore. However, I'm not sexually active so I don't know how well it works as a birth control.
