Pros:

It has started to clear my skin but I don't no if Im just having a good week or not. I really hope it will clear my skin fully and will stay that way. I dont need it for sex as Im to young for that, I only went on it to clear my skin.

Cons:

I think It's made my moods bad, like depression but im not sure it thats just me or not. And I use to weigh about 57kg and I now weigh 60kg so I have put on a little weight But that could also just be me eating too much or something.

Im on my 3rd month now and If my skin isnt clear by the end of it then I'll probably go off it. It really depends on the person, it works for some but not the other. So try it for yourself and see what happens. You never know it could be perfect for you.

Pros:

It work well with acne and it works fast

Cons:

None so far

I love Yasmin I have been on it now for only 2 weeks. I was on Yaz a lower hormon level pill that didn't help my acne and I took it for 4 months. But Yasmin has been such a great help wtih my acne. Now I only get 1 or 2 pimple here and there where as Yaz I was having major break outs day in and day out with no refiel. I don't have the mood swings or break threw bleeding either. I love this pill and recommend to it anyone looking to clear up your skin using birth control. Also if you have a good doctor they can write you a RX for 3 months worth at a time so you wont have to go back so much.

Brilliant!
Yasmin cleared my 'mild' acne that although I was told didn't show and was nothing, caused me a great deal of distress. Dianette did not work at all and spironolactone had stopped being as effective. The only bother I have us during my weeks break which I quite often skip now. Highly recommended. Took a a few weeks to show full improvement but never got worse.

Pros:

Weight loss, acne control for the first two years, birth control

Cons:

Intense painful deep acne in the 3rd and ongoing years, poor circulation, always cold, intense mood swings and deep depression and anxiety, pain in the legs indicating possible blood clots.

Bottom line is I would STRONGLY advise finding another method of birth control/acne prevention, anything really besides this drug. Not only are there obvious possible side effects such as the blood clotting, but I could not believe the emotional roller coaster I was on while on this medication. I was seriously considering going to therapy for depression ad anxiety because I could not understand why I was always feeling so anxious and having weekly meltdowns for no reason. Since switching I have an actual appetite, I am remarkably happier, have less acne and a much warmer body temperature! I understand there are risks with each oral contraceptive you choose, I just highly advise otherwise especially if it's simply for acne prevention!

Pros:

Less Acne
Lighter Periods

Cons:

Galbladder diseased - Had surgery to remove it.

Terrible for the rest of your body. Causes NUMEROUS problems. I had no idea that my birth control could cause me to have galbladder disease at 16 years old. (I'm now 18) Please, do NOT take this birthcontrol. This or yaz. I am currently in a law suit against them for my surgery and hopefully I get it covered. That wasn't cheap! Stay away from this birth control!

Pros:

~Completely cleared back acne, and almost all face acne is gone
~No emotional side effects
~No weight gain
~Bigger boobs
~Regular periods
~Only $5 a month with my insurance

Cons:

~You must be PATIENT if you're using it to clear acne.. it gets worse before better

It took about 4 months for my body to fully adjust and respond to this birth control, and my back and face acne got MUCH worse before it got better, but at the start of month 5 I am completely clear (maybe 3 or 4 new blemishes per month now). If you're going to try Yasmin to clear acne, be patient through the adjustment phase and give it at least 5 months.

Doesn't work in the long run
I started taking these pills and switched over brands, all with Drospirenone for about 8 years (Jasmin, Jasminiq, Femelle and Yaxibelle). It was only for birth control, I got some black or whiteheads from time to time but nothing serious. After I stopped taking them I had an adult acne, awful and painful, product of the prolonged use of this type of pills (my gyn told me so). I would say that as long as you take them your skin and hair would look great, it's an amazing contraceptive but after you stop taking the pill all hell can break loose... Now I've tried many natural remedies (vitamins, masks, etc), and finally decided to try another contraceptives with another component diferent than Drospirenone, so I don't have the same reaction when I want to be off the pill. Obviously, it depends on each person, but it quite a common issue with drospirenone, so if you're taking this and want to check, talk to your doctor. If you have any questions send me a message, I'm starting the log for the new pills....
