Pros:

Bigger boobs (my ten year old sister thought I got implants), clearer skin, no weight gain.

Cons:

Mood swings, cramps, bad break through bleeding when I first started using it.

Compared to the other pills I've tried, Yasmin is by far the best..(it's expensive for a reason) the other pills turned me into somebody my boyfriend at the time couldnt even recognise, i'd have violent mood swings and he actually broke up with me one stage because of it, gained weight, bloated so much, started getting pimples, the only positive was larger breasts so i stopped taking it and i was too scared to go on anything else, after I ended our 4 year relationship and started to mingle i realised i needed to go back on the pill, told the doctor about my syptoms and he straight away suggested yasmin, i havent looked back since, i havent gained any weight, my mood swings are still there but they are bareable, and i can control them. my boobs have become even bigger and my skin has cleared up even though i dont look after it well at all (oops)

Pros:

no babies, no babies...they are cute but no babies, clearer skin sorta.

Cons:

fiery emotions! mood swings, cramps.

i have never had such bizarre mood swings. ever. i have been on it for only a month so i don't know if i would recommend this pill or not. i think it's worth trying. very expensive! (less than a kid) but is my main reason why i am changing and possibly waiting till i'm 18 perhaps. (once i am 18 insurance will cover it) what's with that though??? i think i might go to planned parent hood.

Pros:

Less Oily Skin, face is clearing up no weight gain

Cons:

Abnormal breast growth, tender just a little to the touch

I gave this a somewhat awful review before after taking it for 8 days however I have seen great improvement in my acne and oily skin. The only prob I have so far is that a few days ago I noticed that one of breast is larger than the other since taking Yasmin( right one is larger) and my breast is a little tender to the touch. I know our left and right size is different in size but I look at my boobs everyday since I got them and they were never bigger than the other noticeably of-course. I am about 4 days away from finishing the first pack I will continue to monitor the growth even though my face is clearing up pretty fast its not worth the one bigger breast, if it was both of them growing then that would be a bonus for me because I dont have large breasts. If it continue I might have to switch to Diane 35 which I dont really want to because this pill is great so far only the breast issue. Is this happening to anyone else will it go back to normal or will the small one catch up?

Pros:

None

Cons:

Periods come a lot later than they do with other pills and I continue to bleed through when I am to start a new pack, Really bad breakouts, lowered sex drive

I do not have acne, and never have. I can honestly go to bed every night with a full face of makeup on and not get a single zit, but this birth control pill has made me break out ridiculously! I have never had this many zits at one time! I had switched to a new pill, but my pharmacy inadvertently switched my pills back to Yasmin, and in the first month I started to break out again. Plus, I never want to have sex with my boyfriend, so there is almost no point of even being on the pill. I might just have a weird reaction to it, but will never take it again!

Pros:

weight loss, Almost all acne gone after 4 months. No pregnancy and periods more regular

Cons:

Nausa in the mornings, took awhile to kick in. The price and more frequent headaches

Never thought a pill would help my skin or weight. Went of it because i am an idiot!!! Forgot how bad my skin could get and almost immediently after stopping it my acne came back in full force!!!

Pros:

Don't have to use any other BC methods

Cons:

-Random aches and pains (throbing legs and arms, brest tenderness).
-Immediately broke out on my face after first couple of weeks.

I'm almost done with my first month and am a little bit worried after reading other people's horror stories with Yasmine, but I think I'll stick with it and see if my skin clears up in the next couple of months. But if anything else weird happens to me before that, I'm done with it!

Finishing first pack... acne is only getting worse
Asking a question for people who this pill worked for clearing acne: was it normal that acne became more active in the first month? ive been on accutane a year ago, so having pimples again is painful... however, they arent cystic or anything its bearable.... but my skin has been getting worse, should i keep taking the pill or ditch it?

keep taking it. That is definitely not long enough to see if it will work for you. You have to hang in there as difficult as it is.

Pros:

Not pregnant
No weight gain

Cons:

Bad break outs

I have been on Yasmin for a month now and the first two weeks I thought this was a miracle pill. My skin cleared up very fast and was less oily. I have started month two and I now have HORRIBLE cystic acne around my chin. It's very painful and embarrassing. I'm hoping it will clear up around month three because I can not take this. Although I haven't had any weight gain which is a positive!

Pros:

Prevents pregnancy.

Cons:

First pill i went on was microgynon 30-side effects were so severe that i had to come off within a week.Side effects on yasmin are much better but still bad.Tiredness, laziness, depression, lack of interest in doing anything, spots, bigger appetite, etc.

If you have any sideeffects then how does it agree with your body or ever going to be suitable? Both the yasmin and the microgynon have changed me - made me into a completely different person. I hate it - only probably going to give it another week and then will come off it. Its a matter of trial and error. Obviously effects each person differently, for me its awful already!

I just wanted to post this letter because I have seen more than a few women referring to Yasmin as YAZ. They are two separate drugs and only sound similar. They are not the same medication.
