Pros:

Reliable birth control, increased bust size, no noticeable weight gain, no mood changes, no loss of sex drive

Cons:

Nausea, IBS/lactose intolerance, acne, increased urgency to urinate and urinary incontinence, increased rate of UTIs

I have tried several forms of birth control: Tri Cyclen Lo (gave me the worst acne ever), Desogen (perfect skin but insomnia), and Nuvaring (great for 2 years, then sudden acne). I took a year's break and then decided to try Yasmin. For the first 2 mos, I experienced some moderate acne. About 6 months in, I became lactose intolerant. I have eaten dairy products daily my entire life with no problem until Yasmin. I also started to get nausea every day, usu. in the morning. I have been sexually active for 6 yrs, and I had 1 UTI in the time before Yasmin, but in the 8 mos I've used this pill, I've probably had 10 UTIs. When I don't have one, going to bathroom is very urgent. My acne is back and worse than it was the first month of Yasmin, mostly on my forehead and chin/jawline. I have started to get chest pains, and I've decided it's no longer worth it to deal with the side effects. I'm going to try to switch to Dianette or maybe back to Desogen after finishing this pack.

Pros:

No Migraines, No Weight Gain, No Mood Swings

Cons:

Dry and patchy skin, breakouts on chin & forehead

I've been on Yasmin for more than two years now - it's been quite a roller coaster ride... At first it was amazing. Skin cleared up, lost weight, loads of energy and no moods. Now, for the first time in two years, I've noticed pigmentation on my skin (like when I was pregnant). I'm also getting quite a bad skin breakout. The last time my skin looked this bad was when I hit puberty...Someone suggested that it might be the Yasmin causing it. I don't want to change my pill. I've been on two others and I was misserable, bloated, moody and had constant headaches.

Pros:

birth control, regulated periods

Cons:

acne breakouts, pill everyday, slight nausea after starting the first pill following the week of placebo pills

The first few weeks it made my acne break out really bad--the worst it has ever been. It mainly occurred along my jawline and chin, like most people who left a review. On my third month now, and my skin is better than the first few weeks, but still NOT clear. The acne takes forever to heal and lasts very long, leaving my skin sore and dry. Im hoping within the next few months my body will adjust and my face will clear! For any users what month did you see drastic improvement in your skin?

Pros:

No cramps, no babies, no headaches

Cons:

Acne on my cheeks down by my jawline....hard pimples that are big bumps but dont pop, so they turn into craters because I can't NOT try to pop them!

Pretty good stuff. It's wicked expensive in the US tho. $65 for generic Ocella without insurance. A lot more for brand name Yasmin. I order mine from an online drug store in Canada. MUCH cheaper (about $18 a month for brand name). I used Yasmin for 2 years, but then discontinued it because of the price when i lost insurance. Did Yaz for the past 6 months, TERRIBLE headaches. Back on Yasmin now. Boobs hurt like they never have before, but overall, I'm glad I'm back on it. 3 weeks into the pack, acne isn't terrible, I have had a little breakout, but nothing some makeup can't cover up.

Pros:

makes skin looks pretty, regulates period and keeps my weight stable

Cons:

>It gave me acne in places I never had it before.
>Gave me nausea- BAD. The first pack (3 weeks) was all nausea but after then it was okay.
> I definitely had a loss in my sex drive. Which lasted for more than a month.

I use this to regulate my periods and it has done that. I haven't gained weight but it has made me nauseated with a decrease sex drive. And even though I had acne it did clear up in a month or two. But if you need it for regulating your periods, I'd get it.

Pros:

It has started to clear my skin but I don't no if Im just having a good week or not. I really hope it will clear my skin fully and will stay that way. I dont need it for sex as Im to young for that, I only went on it to clear my skin.

Cons:

I think It's made my moods bad, like depression but im not sure it thats just me or not. And I use to weigh about 57kg and I now weigh 60kg so I have put on a little weight But that could also just be me eating too much or something.

Im on my 3rd month now and If my skin isnt clear by the end of it then I'll probably go off it. It really depends on the person, it works for some but not the other. So try it for yourself and see what happens. You never know it could be perfect for you.

acne. I have never had a problem with my skin, and I have huge painful blemishes right now. just finishing up my first pack. I will stick it out one more month but if the acne does not go away ~ I am going to try something else

jurys still out.

Pros:

None yet... here's hoping

Cons:

Major breakouts
Oily skin
Nausea

I started taking Yasmin three weeks ago to help control my hormonal acne. The first two weeks of taking this pill I experienced the worst breakout of my entire life. I went to the dermatologist and had to have 31 cortisone injections and had six (6!) cysts that needed to be drained! I just started my third week and my skin is much drier this week and my acne isn't inflamed -- I'm sure this is because of all the injections and not the pill. I'm going to stick it out for three months and hope it provides the answer I'm looking for.

Pros:

for me, my tubes are tied so I only needed it to help regulate my periods. It has regulated my periods and made them lighter

Cons:

My face has so much acne now. These bumps are way under the skin and they hurt! Giant bumps... just gross. I'm moody, I eat more, stomach cramps, emotional wreck!! I've never felt this ugly

i'm giving it one more month. If nothing changes with my appetite, my acne and my moodiness i'm dumping these pills. not worth the crap i'm going through.

Pros:

This pill made my skin clearer after coming off dianette, stopped mood swings.

Cons:

Evengtually after nearly 6 months acne came back on jawline and one cheek

want a pill I can keep on that wont make me break out! they always start off well and then end up with spots thats why I came off dianette. Back on it now still waiting for a decent improvement.. Think Yasmin is a good option after dianette but wonder why it helped my skin and then made it worse
