Pros:

Works Fast, doesn't make you feel sick and inexpensive.

Cons:

None

I have been taking Solodyn for a week. This is my first prescription acne medication and I already love it. Although I've only been on it for a week I have already seen tremendous results as the breakouts have gotten drastically better and any scars have been starting to clear up! I can't wait to see what happens in a month!

Pros:

Convenient
No major side effects
Small pills

Cons:

Dependent on drug
None besides that

Okay listen to ME. I've been on this drug for about a year, so I know more than the people reviewing this drug after 3 days of using it. Let me start off by saying it DOES WORK. It may not be the miracle acne solution you've been dreaming of, but it definitely keeps acne at bay. My dermatologist writes me 4 refills every time I get a new written prescription for it, and let me say that whenever I finish a bottle (bottle of 30) and I go a few days before getting my refill, I break out. That's the only downside is that you kinda become dependent on it. But while on the drug acne reduces dramatically. It may take a month or two for you to start noticing, but it really does! Take this medication while applying Retin-A and I also promise you will see a major decrease in scarring. No new acne = No new scars. Then the old ones fade! Please just give it a try! There are no crazy side effects like dry skin or hair loss. Like I said, I've been on it for about a year. So I'm like the solodyn expert! Haha. Just try it, it can't possibly hurt!

Pros:

It DOES Work

No serious Side effects

Cons:

It takes time

Dry Skin

If you're doctor prescribes you solodyn don't give up after one or two weeks. This stuff takes time to work. It has to purge all of the bacteria out of your skin. After about 1-2 months you should start to see results and they are amazing. I was a moderate acne sufferer and started to take this stuff along with retin-a and erithromycin gel about 2 months ago. Face got worse for the first 2-3 weeks but then started to improve dramatically.

Pros:

-Got Rid of Acne
-Very vivid crazy dreams that are cool

Cons:

-At first, you break out really bad
-Become dependent upon it

Solodyn is not for normal pimples, it is for the cystic pimples caused by a bacterial infection. It treats ONLY the cystic pimples, and it does it very effectively over time. At first, the cystic pimples will become inflamed and more will appear, but after about two weeks they stop. Also, I take the medication right before I go to sleep, and I have the craziest dreams that are pretty entertaining to think about the next day.

Pros:

-1 Time a day
-No side effects

Cons:

-Price
-Clearing Up Time

Bottome Line: This is a very good acne medication, with very minimal to do on our end. Simply take it once a day, now the only catch is being patient. It was extremely hard for me to not see any improvements on my overall acne for the first month! It was exactly the 30th day of taking it when I woke up and saw an improvement. I have been on it now on a little under 2 months and can say my acne is pretty much all gone! I have tried other medications and to me, this is one of the best, with very minimal to no side effects. To me, the price is worth very little maintenance, no side effects and good results! Just hang in there and don't knock it until you have tried it for at least a good month!

Pros:

Stopped acne in its tracks immediately

Cons:

Just my own paranoia from the negative reviews on the side effects, however I have yet to experience anything awful. Maybe slight fatigue.

I have hormonal acne. It is stubborn and nothing has ever worked in controlling it. Although I consider it be be mild to moderate, because I usually only have a few pimples at one time. However, the location where these pimples would form were embarrassing (usually right around my upper lip area) and very noticeable. Very annoying, and always coming back in the same spots over and over. I went to a derm asking for spiro, cause I know its hormonal. but, being that I am already taking Yasmin, she decided to have me try the solodyn. I am also using Finacea gel. I started using this in mid October, and its now late November. I have had absolutely no hormonal break outs at all, not even in my usual areas. And let me tell you, that is a miracle because mine were constant, every couple days I would have a new disgusting zit forming. I admit, some of the other reviewers have terrified me but so far I think I am good. I haven't noticed any disturbing side affects. I also do worry about what will happen to my skin once I stop taking this. But, for now I am enjoying my pimple free face. All I can say is give it a shot, because if you are desperate enough, you will try anything once. It could work for you.

Pros:

-worked FAST.
-non-drying if a lotion is also used.
-didn't give me upset stomach.

Cons:

-none insofar!

I've been on Solodyn for 5 days, and I ALREADY see a huge difference in my skin. The only other pill I've taken for acne is Azithromycin (if I'm spelling it right) and it gave me a horrible upset stomach, and also did nothing for my skin. I see no improvement in scars like others say, but definitely prevents and heals blemishes. I'd recommend Pond's Dry Skin Cream with this! It works wonders!! I'm using this in conjunction with Epiduo as a spot treatment, for reference (: Ask your doctor for a coupon that comes with it to make it only 10 dollars as opposed to the 100 it usually costs!!!!!

Pros:

Cleared up skin, reduced acne dramatically, smoothed skin, no irritability, no noticable side-effects besides a little dry skin.

Cons:

None

I've used the 90mg Solodyn tablets every night for about 6 months. I've used Retin-A Micro (.1%) at night, and Benzaclin gel in the morning. My face has cleared up drammatically. I suffer from dry skin but nothing that a dab of moisturizer can't fix. If I miss a single night of not washing my face (I use Cetaphil) and putting on medication or taking Solodyn, there's usually a slight breakout in a day. So this is definitely a strict routine I have to keep up but it works for me. My Rx for Solodyn was free becasue of rebate slips my doctor gave me each time I've filled up.

Pros:

Clear My face within 1 1/2 months
No side effects
Works best with a combination of topical cream or gel.

Cons:

None

It works trust me! You wont be disappointed! About a year ago I broke out pretty bad, probably the worst I've EVER broken out. We're talking about a person whose had acne for 11 years. Acne and cysts developed on my face, neck, back, shoulders, chest, and back. For three months I tried OTC products but to no avail. I finally decided to see my old dermatologist where he prescribed me 80mg of Solodyn with Epiduo. Within 2 months I was completely clear. Trust me this stuff works. IT ONLY TAKES TIME! :D

Finally acne free!
I felt the need to register here again cause acne really was troublesome for me. I cannot say that I have tried "everything" before, but I did try a lot of things: differin, acne.org regimen (for more than a year), salicylic acid, peels, dieting, exercising, drinking more water, tea tree oil, even going without make up. None of those helped me of course. I did go to dermatologists, one didn`t even glance at my skin and prescribed me his expensive regimen (which of course never helped me). After that was very skeptical about going to dermatologist again. I though she would put me on Accutane (which I was afraid of), but she prescribed me this paired with topical cream that didn't do a thing to my skin. This saved my skin! I have been on it for a bit more than 2 months and I NEVER get red pimples again! I do have a bit of whitehead action going on on my chin, but it`s getting better with AHA+ glycolic acid thing that I bought here. I am happy with the skin I see in the mirror for the first time on last 1,5 years and I wish everyone the same thing! Hope this thing will work magic on y'all too!

Does it only work for red inflamed acne?
