Pros:

Got rid of my severe cystic acne!!
Minimizes breakouts

Cons:

Daily dosage was way too much..I started off taking 3 pills a day, but then it was increased to four!!

I had severe cystic acne when I began taking Ery Tabs..It helped control my breakouts and I didn't get as many cysts. Daily dosage was a bit of a problem for me, but if you want clear skin, it's worth it..I'm not on it anymore, though..Now I take Minocycline two times daily while using differin at night and benzoyl peroxide in the morning.

Pros:

Spots are considerably smaller and a lot less red.

Cons:

Skin is slightly more greasy which causes more blackheads sometimes, but i use a gentle daily exfoliator to keep them at bay.

I was really unhappy about my skin, and being 14 and at school, having bad skin isnt good for confidence.. so during the six weeks holidays i went to the doctors and asked for something stronger (i was on doxycycline) and she gave me erythnomycin, two, twice a day, on the NHS its free until a certain age, but i hope my acne has gone by then. I've been on them for nearly 5 weeks now and have seen an improvement, smaller and less spots that are a lot less red. Although, i think my skin is a bit more greasy, but i use a daily gentle exfoliator from neutrogena (sp?) which helps with scars too. I cant wait to get rid of all my acne, back, sholders/arms, chest, neck and face and have that porcalain-perfect look haha .. Plus, it should be taken with or after food to prevent stomach pains, i dont get them at all. I hope this helped, good luck everyone..

Seem to be working
I have only been taking them for a few days but noticed a difference after a day or two of taking them, I havent had an IB from these antibiotics & I havent been breaking out as much already only maybe one little whitehead a day (this is a massive improvement for me!). Ive still got a few breakouts which are healing slowly but its so nice not to be dealing with more breakouts while the other ones go away. My only thing with this antibiotics is DO NOT take it with food that was my biggest mistake after the first day I started to get really bad stomach pains feeling like I was gonna be sick & it really made my stomach bloat and become sore, this lasted about 2 days (sick feeling lasted a day & tenderness of the upper stomach lasted about 2 days). Ive started taking them 1 hour before food or 2 hours after & I havent been getting the side effects anymore but if I did take them with food I would really regret it because the side effects are horrible! So far so good so Im going to keep taking them & hopefully get 100% clear! Ive also been drinking alot of water with them because they make me feel really dry plus ive been having about a spoon full of full fat greek yogurt in the day just to help my stomach to add some good bacteria back, & luckily I havent broken out from eating it and im normally sensitive to dairy. Btw Im also using differin gel every second night all over my face & I take 2 tablets in the morning & 2 at night.

Pros:

It's made a huge difference in my face already. Greatly reduced redness.

Cons:

Extreme drying, some peeling, just really stingy & burny after applying & long after.

Well basically the bottom line is; I think it's working well so far. I've been dealing with this nasty cystic for what seems like forever, yet I'm 16. My dermatologist prescribed me minocycline also, but after hearing all the horror stories, I decided to hold off on that...lol. The topical gel is working well for me, & with coverup I look blemish free & feel a lot better about myself! Cheap with insurance.

Pros:

- Works pretty quickly- saw some results after just 3 or 4 days
- Hasnt caused major dryness- slightly dry lips but dealt with using vasoline
- More success than other antibiotics that ive used

Cons:

- Doesnt help with red marks (but do any meds help with this?)
- Can give me an upset stomach every couple of days and very slight diarrhoea but nothing major
- Must be taken with food or almost guaranteed to feel sick afterwards

Im happy with this. Oxytetracycline did nothing for me a few years ago. Lymecycline worked for about 6 months then overnight just stopped working. But ive been on Erythromycin for about a month now (including a 10 day break) and my moderate acne has cleared up nicely. Not perfect but no major breakouts and just the odd whitehead here and there. Far less inflamed too. As I said in the cons it has given me a slightly upset stomach every now and then and very light diarrhoea but its not a problem as its only once or twice a week for an evening or something. So yeah overall I recommend it for those with mild-moderate acne.

Pros:

When used with Differin, it cleared my face completely

Cons:

After 1-2 years of continuous use, my acne developed a resistance to this product, and I had to switch to a different medication.

I used Erythromycin gel by applying a thin film on my problem areas in the morning, and at night I would apply a thin film of Differin gel. It took about 3 weeks to see results, but eventually all my acne went away. I was clear for a period of 1-2 years, but then my face started building a resistance to the medication, and the acne came back. I find that with these prescription medications, they will work for about 1-2 years and then they stop working, so I have to switch from one to the other. All these dermatologist prescribed medications do work, but they do not cure acne. They just temporarily mask it. You have to use them on a consistent basis every day, or your acne will come back. Right now, I have stopped taking all these and I am trying natural methods such as taking probiotics and fiber supplements to see if I can get to the root of the problem.

Pros:

Clears skin up definitely, but it takes time. Maybe 4 weeks when you see the real difference.

Cons:

Had diarroheoa twice, takes till the 4th week when you see a slight difference and spots not appearing

I took the 250mg e250 tablets, twice a day, pescribed by doctors. It's great, but im hoping i wont be getting spots back after i stop taking the tablets. I have not finished with the tablets, however it does actually work as it is antibiotics, and it is a powerful medication. Would reccomend it, but probably for a few months.
