Pros:

Clears up acne - fast
Doesn't make skin oily
Reduces redness
Easy to apply
Cheap with insurance
Smooths skin

Cons:

Makes skin very dry
Expensive without insurance

I suffered with acne for a good 3 years and iv tried EVERYTHING to try and get rid of it. When my doctor prescribed Benzaclin, all i could think is great, another unsucessful acne medication... But this worked, and it worked well. Along with this though, you need a good mosturizer to help keep the dryness down.

Pros:

dries out pimples, clears skin

Cons:

must apply consistently onto face. Once you stop using this cream, ance may comes back probably due to anti-biotic resistance.

I have been using benzaclin for about two years now, on and off. I have recently run out of refills and have noticed ance forming again. In addition to using benzaclin I also use clindamycin-hopefully I spelled it correctly- and am worried that these medications will have to always be applied in order to keep acne away. However, by using these medications all the time, I will become resistant to them causing my acne to emerge thereafter. I am worried that I will destroy my oil glands in which case will worsen my acne.

Pros:

see the difference quickly

Cons:

dosen't clear skin completely.Expensive

Used for 4 months. Good results at first but still have small spots on face and back. Quite expensive but seems to be working though you should allow a few months for it to completely clear apparently. Used every single night for 4 months and moisturize in the morning. After using it i still don't have clear skin.

Pros:

Gets rid of acne scars and reduces swelling and scarring of new acne.

Cons:

Initially can make skin irritated. Skin may appear red and become dry.

Stick with this product. After the first few uses, I could already tell that Benzaclin was improving the appearance of my skin and healing my acne. Do not get discouraged if you still get breakouts after using Benzaclin for a few weeks, it may take longer to get results but it is worth the wait. Be patient and you will see great results. This product works great on acne scars.

Pros:

Helped clear my face up in 2 weeks.

Cons:

drying, bleaches cloth and burns a bit when I add a moisturizer or makeup over it.

So far it has been worth dealing with all the cons. I put duac on in the mornings, take menocyline as an oral medication and use tazorac on my face at night. My acne had gotten really bad the last few months and I had to go back to my dermatologist. I get some cystic acne and I have tiny barely visible pimples all over most of my face. I haven't gotten any new large pimples or cystic acne in about a week. I only have a few marks left on my face from a week ago. I do still have some of the tiny pimples, I'm hoping those will be the next to go. I think the duac is really combating most of my acne.

Pros:

See results fairly soon. Seems to work very well if used as part of a routine.

Cons:

None really except it can dry out your skin.

Ok, I have been using this product for about a year now. With my experience fighting pimples and blackheads, this product will work great if you use it while also doing the following things: 1. Use an oil-free moisturizer 5-10 minutes after applying product.(I use Aveeno) 2. Use it over night. 3. Drink a lot of water! 4. Try not to touch your face too often. 5. Eat foods with a lot of vitamins in them. 6. Stay away from fast foods and oily foods like pizza. 7. Keep your stomach's digestion in check by eating lots of fiber. (Bad digestion means your stomach has too much acid which can lead to it not absorbs enough nutrients.)

Pros:

Worked great. absolutely wonderful.

Cons:

Can bleach your clothes,

I had been using Aveda, but went travelling in South America and thought it may be cumbersome to travel with a bunch of bottles. For that entire month, I just used sensitive skin wet wipes (to clean my face, as I was in a place with only 4 hrs of running water a day) + an old duac prescription from 5 yrs ago (at night). I thought the dust and air pollution would aggravate my acne, but I have never seen my skin so clear, and neither had anyone else. They all commented that I was 'glowing' upon my return. Was it the Duac? or the lack of pollutants? or South America, in general? I will never know. I cannot afford a $200 dollar 'kit'. They have now added a moisturizer as an excuse to jack up the price even further. Try being uninsured and affording this stuff. Puh-lease.

Pros:

Helps sometimes; might help for people with light acne, like a few pimples here and there.

Cons:

Doesn't help all that well, just sometimes. My acne is like a rollercoaster. Nothing works. I use this during the day, and azalex 20% cream at night.

Screw this, and screw the dermatologist.

Pros:

Works well on the stubborn acne on my back/chest/shoulders and isn't too drying there.

Cons:

Burns a bit when used on face. BLEACHES CLOTHING LIKE CRAZY.

I've been prescribed several different creams for the acne on my back during the past six years, and Duac is the first one I've ever really been satisfied with. It consistently clears up my body breakouts, just as it should. It does, however, have to be used DAILY, otherwise you'll notice the repercussions. Also, it contains benzoyl peroxide, so it has bleached a lot of my clothing, but I suppose there's not much that can be done about that. All in all, I'm quite the contented user!
