Pros:

I love this stuff. I am currently on Doryx which helped out a bit, but when I did some research online I came across Benzaclin. I asked my Dermatologist if he'd heard of it. He actually had a sample to give me. So far I love the results.

Cons:

I only used it at night, even though the directions say I think 2 times a day. I notice that when I wear makeup my skin gets flakey, which bothers me, but not enough to stop using it, since I am seeing the wonderful outcome.

If you're having a tough time with acne, as I have, try it out. You will see a difference. I noticed a difference in my face within a couple days. Oh and one other thing, I noticed that when I was my face in the morning, a couple pimples that are full of puss just come right out and heals quickly. No more popping pimples! =) I would totally recommend this over proactive!

Pros:

FAST RESULTS!

Cons:

Dries skin, but ask your derm about a moisturizer.

I had acne in my teens and it went away thanks to my derm. But at twenty years of age it started to come back, then it got even worse! My derm prescribed me Benzaclin and I used it in combination treatment with Retin A micro and Solodyn. My face cleared up in days! It feels good because others noticed the differnce too. Ask your derm about it. IT WORKED FOR ME AND MY SKIN WAS PRETTY BAD!

Pros:

after several weeks it began helping

Cons:

after a few months it stopped working

I'm 39 and have been dealing with moderate/severe acne for 20 years. I have yet to find any product that helps consistently. This can be drying and is hard to spread the pea-sized amount all over your face, so I mixed it with clindamycin lotion to make it easier to apply all over without using too much. After 3-4 weeks it began to work and my skin was relatively clear (never perfect) for 2-3 months while doing this. Then, it seemed to just stop working and I'm breaking out all the time for the last month. I guess you can become immune to it. I'm very dissapointed.

Pros:

good results

Cons:

none

Have been using this on my 12 year olds face for 4 months and the results were quick and are still excellent. Just follow instructions. Face must be clean! Wash with an oil free soap and apply cream immediatly. On the odd occasion his face was not washed immediatly prior I could notice the differnce. In the morning moisturise with a brand that again is oil free

Worked amazingly the first time
when I initially used this, it was amazing, cleared up my skin and carried on using it for a couple years then stopped. After I stopped, my acne was getting bad again so i tried using it again but it didn't really work as well.

Life-saver!!!
My doctor prescribed me with Duac just over a month ago, and honestly the results have been unbelievable!! I've had persistent acne since I was around thirteen or so - lots of whiteheads and sore inflamed spots. My skin cleared up in less than two weeks!! I use a mild cleanser first then apply a thin layer of Duac just before I go to bed. The only side effect is that my skin got a little bit dry and flaky but it made a change to constantly oily skin. My doctor said if you get dry skin buy aqueous cream over the counter as it's the best moisturiser for Duac - this has really helped soothe my skin! If you're considering using Duac I would say go for it!!!! It takes about a week to make a difference but after that the results are really quick and I now have completely clear skin!!!!!!!

You have to go to your doctor and ask for a prescription, then they should give it to you! Good luck :)

Amazing wow
So I literally have never reviewed anything ever before online but I have to to here. I've been using Duac gel in the morning and Isotrexin at night for 6 months now. My acne and GONE and please note I have been dealing with mild acne since I was 13 and I am now 26. This combination was prescribed to me by my deem and I was also told to start slow and initially alternated days and weeks etc of using it so I started out very slow which minimized the negative effect at the beginning, therefore it was easier to deal with going to work and being out in public with initial breakout and super dry skin. I stared seeing positive results at around the 3 month mark and now 6 months later I have no pimples. I would usual ally in the past have tones of small pimples on my forehead and some around my nose and chin and although individually the pimples were not that bad, there were so many of them at once and always. Every morning I was scared to look on the mirror to see how many news ones had cropped up overnight. I did go through redness, burning, itching, stinging but in the end and with a good moisturizer (I use OBAGI facial hydrate) it's so worth it!!!!!

Worked at first...

Pros:

Cleared my acne
Hardly any side effects

Cons:

Dryness may be an issue for others
Will eventually stop working

I was prescribed with duac back when I was 14 and it cleared my acne brilliantly. I didn't suffer from any side effects and dryness on my skin lasted for about 4 days and then it was gone. Up until now I have been using duac and unfortunately after about a year of using it my skin became very resistant to it, and the duac just didn't do anything for me. I recommend using it and trying it out, but don't rely on it being a cure as your skin will become tolerant to it.
