Pros:

inexpensive
fast results
easy to use
easy to find/purchase

Cons:

None that I can think of

9 days ago I went on vacation and didn't bring my acne medicine (Mario Badescu) because I thought my skin was undercontrol and I could go without for a few days. By day 2, my skin was a disaster. I was in a drugstore and bought this out of desperation because I had read online that it could work. My skin looked better in I'd say, 3 days. Now I'm home from vacation and am still using it and my skin looks fantastic. I haven't even bothered to use my other acne meds yet, I kind of want to see how long my skin stays clear without those. And to be honest, my skin looks better using the pink calamine lotion than anything I've used in years. (I started breaking out after I had my first child, 3.5 years ago, and it's been a battle ever since.)

Pros:

Works for hormonal acne

Cons:

Can take a few days
Really runny consistency

I started getting acne due to going off the pill.I didn't have acne prior taking the pill so I was really at odds in how to make it go away.I tried the aspirin mask but i didn't see much results.I debated on going back on the pill, but decided to try this as an alternative.I started seeing results a week later. This is a God sent.

Pros:

Amazing for back acne, inexpensive

Cons:

Didn't help my facial acne

I initially tried this on my face; I knew that it would make my acne come to a head at first. However, after a few days of skin seemingly only getting worse, I stopped using it on my face. HOWEVER, this has worked miracles on my back. I put it on all over my back every night before I go to sleep; it's been about two weeks, and for the first time in probably 8 - 10 years I would feel comfortable wearing a top or dress that shows my back. It seems like a lot of people have had success using it on their face, and it has worked for my back. I would definitely recommend trying this.

Pros:

- it make "pimples" that were cysts come to a head.

Cons:

- none

I used this last night (i had used it before too, I use the Humco brand which is the best because it has very few ingredients that are not bad for you. so check the ingredients it should'nt have that many) and I had gotten this huge cyst on my chin that I was able to shrink in a few nights (using mario badescu drying cream) and well I had forgotten about it but it wasn't completely gone. well last night instead of my usual regimen (100% emu oil) I used this, just to try it to see if the cyst would go to a head(it heals faster, but don't pop it.) and in the morning it did ! :) so that's good. When you get it to a head the best thing you can do is steam you face for like 5-10 minutes and if it still hasn't popped then put on a chunk of plain yogurt, and at night put something soothing like an essential/carrier oil. Good luck (: <3

Pros:

Inexpensive
Works Fast
Actually Works!

Cons:

Dries skin out

When I say I've tried everything for my acne, I mean EVERYTHING! With no success, then I heard about calamine lotion. I was skeptical because I truely believed nothing would work for me butthis did. You must make sure your skin is well moisturised though because it can dry skin out and make it flaky. Another Pro is that while it may not make red marks disappear it does fade them somewhat and makes them easier to cover up. So, this will defo be the only acne treatment I will use from now on.

Pros:

inexpensive, works fast

Cons:

a little messy

I have only been using this for two days but I had to write something! I rarely get bad cystic acne, but I got a HUGE one on my cheek - red/purple, swollen, painful. I'm a horrible picker, so of course I squeeze it but nothing would come out. I read these reviews and decided to try it - I washed my face and put a layer of calamine lotion on it. About an hour I later I took a hot shower and when I got out it had already come to a head and I was able to pop it! My cysts usually don't come to the surface at all and the swelling lasts for several days. I applied another layer of calamine and went to bed - in the morning almost all the swelling was gone and it was nearly flat. It usually takes over a week to get to that point. There is a scab/sore there still, but I think that's because I picked at it - I will continue putting calamine on it and hope for the best!!

I bought and loved the Mario Badescu pink drying lotion which is actually Calamine, alcohol and salicylic acid. I kept the bottle and just keep adding regular calamine and alcohol as needed. Apply with Q-tip and works great. Calamine $1.50 Alcohol .99

Pros:

-Dries up pimples
-Inexpensive
-Works fast
-Pretty much the same color as my skin

Cons:

-None, really

I started using this about a week & a half ago, & I'm pretty pleased with it. I saw results after the first night, I applied it to all my pimples before I go to bed & when I wake up I can tell a difference. It dries up my pimples, but not too much. It makes my new pimples go away pretty fast. It works faster than anything else I've used, & I'm just happy that it's working. I'm pretty sure it will make all my pimples go away, slowly but surely.
