Pros:

It made old red marks look better

Cons:

It clogged my pores and left me with small bumps all over. Did not prevent new acne

The clear caladryl sucks! It clogged my pores and gave me small bumps all over. The actual calamine did not have this effect, but did not prevent acne either.

Pros:

Sucks the oils right out of a pimple
waaaay cheaper than mario badsceau
controls oil
effective
cheap
fast
functoinal for other purposes

Cons:

what cons?

I have tried epiduo,UT,pretty much everything but accutane. i came accross this a few days ago and decided to try it. i had this huge pimple beside my mouth that wouldnt pop. well i dotted this on and a few hours later i lightly touched it and all the crap came out!! i was overjoyed. i now use this as a mask to zap all the oil. i also use cetaphil gentle skin cleanser so my face doesnt get dry. i heart the cleanser because its versatility allows it to be used as a wash and a lotion. p.s when ever i used calamine lotion it feels like a mini vaccum cleaner in my pores!

I used this product when my eczema is hyper/ active during summer season. Calamine lotion is prescribed by my doctor. It just that I can't wear outside.

Pros:

-Works on Acne
-Inexpensive

Cons:

-Dries with a Pink film

I discovered that Calamine lotion works on facial acne by accident. I purchased it for my son's mosquito bites. The bottle was sitting on the sink so I put some on my face and it dried my pimple overnight. I thought it was my imagination, so I researched the web and discovered that CL really does work on acne. I have spent thousands of dollars on Dermotologists, Beverly Hills Aestheticians, Facials, Peels, Medicine, Custom Blend Make-up. What a fool I have been! I only need to spend 3 dollars to control my acne. Yea!

Pros:

evens skin tone incredibly
shrinks pimples
makes face less oily
cheap

Cons:

can't wear it in public

It took a couple of consistent applications in a row to start working - at first it seemed like it was making the pimples bigger, but really it was just bringing them to the surface. After that, it was awesome. Very smooth. I put it on whenever I'm in the house by myself, one-two times a day. If you miss a day it doesn't kill you, but effects seem to fade after a few days. Highly recommended! Don't give up on it until you've applied it a few times.

Pros:

This stuff really works!! no joke!!

Cons:

kind of hard to take off

okay so like i've only used this stuff for about a week now and this stuff is simply AMAZING! i had red, irritated ugly cheeks with pimples on them and i decided to try this stuff out and im so glad i did I bought the CVS brand...haven't really tried any other brands (hopefully won't have to!) but yeah its great...like the pimples actually come to the surface and become smaller and smaller, its suppose to dry out the pimples and it seems like it actually works! It doesn't dry them out to a point where your skin is like peeling...thats what i love about this product...all the other products ive used like tretnoin cream REALLY peeled my skin and was waaaay to harsh! okay so my point is this stuff makes a visible improvement in your skin...ive only used it for like a week now and my acne isn't completely gone but its less visible and the ugly redness is gone!

Pros:

works on all types of acne
cheap
non-drying

Cons:

-some brands dry with a pink or white film, -looks like you are wearing a mask
-

-humco calamine lotion: only like 2 dollars at walmart!!!! worked better and quicker w/o the side-effects of all those other brands and believe me i tried them all...wish i heard of this sooner. do not use with anything else...if a derm tells you to use it with something else then DONT..they just want you to break out so you give up and use their expensive remedies!!! i just wash with st. ives or a cleansing cloth (recommend ponds, olay, or equate) then apply calamine lotion...i had a nasty cystic breakout from the mouth down that started a month ago...i though it would keep going like before when it covered my entire jawline and neck!!, and these are like boil size...horrible!!! the last time that happened i treated to late and it lasted months and took 6 months to heal.....tear! so i found out abt calamine, started apply everynight and whenever i stayed home. left on, washed off with cleanser if leaving and voila,,,breakout stopped, and huge cysts took a week or less rather than a month or more to shrink and heal!! yay!!! also vitamin C (1000mg) and zinc (50-100) and vit A (20000iu) helped a whole lot in the process...C kills infection, Zinc, helps immunity and inhibits DHT production, and A reduces oil which reduces oil buildup from dht causing overactive sebum production that results in the clogged pores and resulting infection=pimple!!! lots of water too...but i have done treatment with the vitamins before but my cysts never healed this quick so the calamine made a huge difference...gonna try caladryl brand since its not so runny and doesn't dry with a thick mask-like film. and has camphor...will letcha all know results...

I started using this about 1 week ago and it's working extremely well. I bought the generic kind a while back and used it but it didn't do too much. I still have that kind but what I did was add about 10-15 drops of tea tree oil to the bottle(shake real good every time) and all my pimples are disappearing. I don't recommend the clear version because it has chemicals that are proved and known to cause cancer and defects, buy the bottle w/ the least ingredients(Humco brand). I put it on every night on my whole face. Before the calamine lotion I mist on pure organic green tea from a spray bottle(very concentrated, not too much water) when that dries, I tone w/ a mixture of [green tea/Bragg's cider vinegar/witch hazel]. Then the Calamine lotion. I don't use moisturizer at night, maybe once a week I put on emu oil during the evening if my skin is dry, but that barely happens because the calamine lotion doesn't dry out my skin too much. I've also been taking some vitamins that have done wonders too, It's mainly Zinc but it has other things too. Search on A m a z o n "Zinc for acne" and buy the pills from total nutrition, they have the bottle w/ 100 pills which comes out cheaper then the other brand. The pills contain 50mg of zinc, 1000 I.U of Vit. A, 150 I.U of Vit. C, 50 I.U of Vit. E, and 20mg of Vit. B-6. I take 2 pills at night; it says to take on after every meal, DON'T do that because you can overdose on Zinc easily, never more than 100mg daily. I have no idea why it says that, maybe I misunderstood it, but as I see the label right now it reads "As a dietary supplement, take two(2) tablets with each meal". I've taken them for about 10 days and all the inflamed pimples have gone away. I however tried to take only the pills and not do the regimen to see if I'd still be good and I wasn't so they work together; treat topically + internally = great skin :) If relevant, I wash my face with Raw African black soap from Ghana.

Pros:

Clears pimples
Works on cystic acne
Great for sensitive skin
Inexpensive
Easily available

Cons:

A little messy

I have tried so many acne products to treat my hormonal adult acne that came about after I became pregnant with my daughter but this is the only thing that really worked! A lot of the other medications caused too much irritation and sensitivity to my face and didn't work well enough, but not calamine lotion. I am so glad I found this product it is what I have been looking for for so long. It has cleared my face in less than a week. I will recommend this product to any and everyone struggling with acne.

Pros:

works
cheap
takes away itching

Cons:

none

This worked for me along with changing my diets to include more alkaline foods and eliminate histamine producing foods and drinking more water. I tried everything for persistent rosacea. the topical medication from my dr. made my rosacea worse and I didn't want to take any more antibiotics. I used to use calamine lotion on my face when i was a teenager way long ago-and it was great then and it's great now and it worked for me. Redness, itching relieved in a few days and bumps almost all gone. I would highly recommend trying this since it could work for you too.
