Pros:

cheap, dries pimples out *fast*, non-irritating

Cons:

i can't think of any- apparently there is a clear kind and i would only use a masky type of thing like this at night anyway

this stuff is amazing. calamine is great for cystic pimples, regular pimples, blackheads-- it's even good as an occasional clarifying face mask (moisturize w/ the gel from a vitamin E capsule after use- vitamin E soothes and heals, while calamine is used primarily as something that draws things out) i can't even use the harsh spot treatments; they literally burn my skin. calamine works great for people with sensitive skin. it's also *cheap*. i don't even buy face masks or astringents anymore- i just use calamine.

Pros:

Works so fast, immediately took away the redness and pain. I noticed a huge difference the first morning, and every morning it keeps getting better!

Cons:

Over-drying.

I was so desperate because my pregnancy acne was really out of control, and I don't have any options when it comes to medications. My face was in so much pain (I have never had acne before my pregnancy) and I was just so embarrassed, I didn't want to step outside. I saw it sitting in the medicine cabinet and decided, why not give that a try? The next morning, I couldn't believe how much my face improved. This is the last acne medication I will ever buy!

Not a cure but helps a lot
Heals my blemishes fast and dries out pimples. Helps relieve itchiness. Doesn't cause irritation unlike other acne topical treatments. I'd rather use this than BP or SA.

Useless
Used it for a week all it does is dry out your skin..not even the pimples smells bad too. Could be the fact my skin has become immune to zinc but i genuinely believe that has nothing to do with it.

Pros:

dries up acne and makes it go away

Cons:

can't use over whole face

I use the CVS brand which has good, minimal ingredients compared to other brands. It also has a kind of zinc and bentonite magma, and bentonite/montmorillite clay is good at drawing out toxins and other "bad" substances from the clay. i use it as a spot treatment using a Q-tip. I tried using it over my whole face and it made my skin too dry and broke out. so, just use it as a spot treatment, and make sure you get a good brand of calamine lotion with minimal ingredients that won't clog your skin further. I'm guessing it was around $5.00, can't remember the exact price, not too expensive though.

Pros:

works quickly, isn't harsh on skin, can use with Dan's BP, easy to apply, not over-drying

Cons:

can only wear at night, needs to be reapplied often

I've fallen in love with Calamine lotion. I tend to take out my stress by attempting to "control" the acne on my face, which, I know now, usually takes the form of picking at my acne. Unfortunately, this left me with a swollen, bright red bump on my chin a few days ago. I already had three other scabs on my chin, and I was desperate for a solution. Fast forward two and a half days: after using calamine lotion on all these spots repeatedly (about three times per day, trying to at least leave it on for a couple hours each time), my scabs are completely gone (several of them I picked at AGAIN - this time following Dan's instructions, though), and I'm just left with some flat, red marks on my face. Not bad; I can easily cover them with makeup and they're invisible. Also, the calamine hasn't overly dried out my face!

Pros:

affordable & smells clean

I make a pink paste with baking soda and leave on a few mins. til dry and with warm water wash off wait a minute and follow with cold rinse. Really interesting results - my chin which I thought was fairly clear had all the pores open with all the longly clogged tiny whiteheads brought to the surface. Pretty gross I know but the fact they came out and I washed them away is amazing, NO SQUEEZING they literally were drawn out no extracting, forcing or harsh chemicals or redness. I used cold water as a rinse to tighten them back up now that they are the cleanest pores I have had in years. No irritation. Just white skin with less clogged pores.

not for acne
This is a necessity in everyone's house because it's great for calming rashes and irritations. It's a must-use for chicken pox. I've also seen it advertised as a face care product but I would never use if for that. I'm pretty sure it blocked my pores and caused me to break out.
