Pros:

-step by step process, easy to follow
-uses benzoyl peroxide, a really great acne treatment
-works for a while

Cons:

-stops working completely after a while
-toner is super acidic
-scrub is abrasive
-the seaweed mask caused breakouts
-the last step was not a moisturizer

I remember trying this in High School. I followed the steps completely and attained super clear skin. And then, out of nowhere it stopped. The toner started to really burn my skin and it just became a mess. It's also got pretty expensive, especially over time. I know tons of people who just have proactive lying around their house cause it stops working. Go with something over the counter with benzoyl peroxide in it and moisturize afterwards. I felt the moisturizing step in Proactive was not effective enough.

Pros:

My daughter used this throughout high school and college. She had good results for a while, then an immunity built up and it no longer worked.

Cons:

Did not receive shipment? Guess what? They'll credit your stuff, but not the shipping. Have been hounding me for $5.95 for 3 months even after credit card dispute was taken care of.

Product OK Business Practice: Not so much

Pros:

-simple system and packaging
-some of the products are really nice
-the refining mask is awesome

Cons:

-small bottles for the price
-It contains fragrance, and known skin irritant!!!
-It uses benzoyle peroxide, which works, but is known to speed up aging.
-company is annoying to deal with

I used proactive and it worked well at first but my skin became immune. I didn't like how the smell lingered on my face. The company was difficult to deal with, and when my monthly shipment didn't arrive on time, I was out for a couple of weeks. I liked how the cleanser had exfoliating beads. I really liked the green tea moisturizer, but it contains fragrance which is so bad for acne, and the bottle is TINY for the expensive price. With all the extras, its confusing to get on a regimine with proactive. The only thing I still buy from this line is the refining mask, which I love. If I have a bad breakout, this does damage control and dries all the pimples out.

Pros:

None.

Cons:

- Made my skin extremely dry and flakey.
- My face turned bright red and irritated all my existing pimples.
- The cleanser was way too harsh on my skin.
- EXPENSIVE.
- Bottles came in 'travel size'

I should have never ordered this stuff. First off, when you order this system, you become a 'member' and every month your credit card is charged and they send you more. After just 3 days of using this, my breakouts worsened and it felt like my face was reacting negatively to it. My whole face would become red and puffy and it burned really badly. Throughout the day my face would just be on fire. I couldn't take it anymore, so I just stopped using it and threw it away. I've been using a cream cleanser instead, and the burning sensation went away and my painful zits are less inflamed. But yeah, Proactiv sucks. I wish that whole company wasn't so difficult to deal with.

Pros:

dramatically improved my acne condition
smells good
made my skin look radiant

Cons:

very expensive
time consuming
still get acne breakouts every once in a while

this totally worked for my acne problem. been using it for 2 years plus now. i've been getting A LOT of praises for my skin. my only problem is that the kit is way too expensive! I still get acne, like one or two, especially when i am stressed, but they are not as bad as before and get healed pretty quickly.

Pros:

This may work for some people with mild acne and no cysts because it did get rid of a slight amount of my acne

Cons:

Doesn't get rid of cystic acne or anything.
I am so sick of seeing all the ads on TV - I read an interview with Katy about a year ago and she talked about her skin routine that didn't include proactiv - now on TV she's talking about how she's used proactiv for a while and stuff..... LIE!!

I would only try this stuff if you have mild acne and you see it in a mall. I have heard horror stories about their "keep sending it" and am actually still waiting for my refund and I had to refuse a shipment even though I cancelled!

Pros:

makes skin softer
no bad smell
give a healthy glow
gets rid of blackheads
smaller pores

Cons:

burning sensation after use
can make fair acne worse
pricey
redder skins
irritating to fair skins induviduals

I bought proactive 5 months ago. Been using it as directed. It seemed like it was working pretty well in the beging. I found that I had fewer and fewer blackheads. My pores were tightning and I had fewer breakouts. About 3.5 months into using this product my breakout hasn't stopped. Everyday I have 3-4 new zits on my face. My face is redder and dryed out and flaky. My advice be warry of this product. I Have scene great results with some other people I know and others like me worse results. It really is an "iffy" product. It's not cheap unless you purchase through credit card by mail. If you purchases it derect you will be paying more.

Pros:

It can really clear up acne. My thanks to the makers of proactive and making it available to the public. It dries up my cystic acne.

Cons:

I agree with some reviewers, this product can dry your skin. My skin is so dry and thin.

Ive been in battle with my acne since puberty todate (I'm 37yrs old, asian). It's been very costly having it maintained thru dermatologist. My point is, it's still better to go to dermatologist, have your skin analyze. This way, it will take care of your overall skin health. Not just acne but skin's moisture and elasticity. This is very important for women my age.
