Pros:

clears blackheads on nose, and smoothes skin because its a good exfoliator.

Cons:

uneven skin tone, makes pimples worse

I had the odd 2-3 pimples on my face, and really annoying little bumps under my skin, and I bought the 3 step system thinking it would easily clear it away. 2 weeks into using it, my skin was absolutely awful but I kept using it thinking it could only get better. 3 months down the track and $140 later there were hardly any improvements. At risk of sounding like i'm sponsored by garnier, I switched to a $13 bottle of their 3 in 1 wash/scrub/mask, which after one week cleared my skin, and now at the 3 week mark I'm really happy :) The most annoying thing now is that I have dark acne spots left over on my forehead and around my mouth, so i've been using bio-oil to get rid of them. Point is, don't waste your money on proactiv, it might work for some people, but if you don't see an improvement in a month, don't continue it- I read reviews similar to mine before I tried proactiv, thinking my skin would be different, and I wish I hadn't..!! good luck!!

Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

-too expensive
-ineffective
-only method of payment is charging your credit card

There is nothing special about Proactiv. You can buy any of it in the drug store at a fraction of the cost. Let's break it down: "Renewing Cleanser" - The active ingredient is triclosan, an antibacterial/antifungal agent. It's the same thing as in Clearasil face wash. Oh, and it has microbeads. Big deal. "Revitalizing Toner" - This is nothing but witch hazel! People have been getting this at the drug store since the 1800s. "Repairing Treatment" - This is nothing but 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. You can get a generic tube of this at Walmart for around $5. This stuff is a joke. Probably the only reason Proactiv still exists is their aggressive marketing campaign. They pay high profile celebs to hawk this stuff in their commercials. Years ago I used Proactiv for months and it did absolutely nothing. It was a complete waste of money. My advice: see a dermatologist for a real cure. Proactiv is useless.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Smells
False advertising
Simply put: does NOT work!

I have tried literally every product on the market from over the counter to prescription meds from the dermatologist. I'll go ahead and get right to the point with this one. Worst acne product on the market that I've ever used! No matter how much they put into those false infomercials and no matter how much they pay those celebs to lie...guess what?! This stuff is worthless and it does NOT work!

Pros:

Toner is great...really gets the dirt off your face but left me feeling a bit sticky...

Cons:

No change whatsoever in my acne...
Expensive
Doesn't smell good or feel good on my skin

Hated it. I never really buy into the whole "infomercial" thing but I was out of options so I thought I would give this a try and um...let's just say I won't be trusting anymore infomercials. I'm extremely disappointed. I mean I wasn't expecting perfection, but I WAS expecting improvement which I got none of....so....My advice is don't waste your money.

Pros:

-Works Great for first two weeks or so

Cons:

-Burns skin
-Stings
-Super expensive

I loved this product at first, it cleared my skin instantly! But, after the first two weeks I noticed my blemishes and breakouts were coming back! I had still been using the product consistentley, but the "acne fighting ingredients" Stopped working! I WOULD NOT suggest you to buy this product.

Pros:

It clears up acne completely at first
The sulfur mask is pretty good

Cons:

Very irritating to your skin, which dermatologists warn against.
The toner stings very badly, especially if you have a lot of inflamed acne.
The oil-free moisturizer does not work on dry, irritated skin.
As many other people have said, I think most people's skin will develop an immunity to the product. If not, your acne will come back immedietly if you forget to use it (this was the case for my cousin).

This product cleared up most of my acne at first, but it left my skin with ugly discoloration and texture despite this. My skin developed an immunity to the product after two months, so then my skin was not only dry and had a sandpapery texture...but then I had terrible acne again. The toner is awful, it really stung, and the repairing treatment didn't work. It isn't worth the money at all, you may as well invest in a gentle cleanser for less than half the cost of proactive. I think that every product in the kit is just way too harsh for anyone with acne, and will be even worse if you have dry or sensitive skin.

Pros:

clears skin for a few days
easy to follow labels and instructions

Cons:

drys skin after those few days making area of application look like alligator skin or chemical burn.
too pricey for a chemical burn...

I would not use this again, as it made my daughter look like she had burned her entire face. After a few days her skin did clear, but following the instructions only made her skin worse and now she looks just awful, like she has a burned peeling face and her acne is still present. Not worth the price you have to pay...IMO

Cons:

Had small area on face but broke all face out

I ask for the item not to be shipped. Another package was shipped. Now have to pay shipping to me and back. Not to mention have to make sure notification that it was returned before can get refund of 49.95. Is not a good company for customer relations. Would not order the product this way at all.

Pros:

Cons:

I used this for everyday for a month. After the first week my skin was horrible. Red, inflamed, dry and I had more pimples than when I started. I thought it was just a purging stage. By the end of the 4th week after no improvement on cystic pimples and a many more whiteheads and bumps than I usually get I stopped.

Only 2 days after I stopped the whiteheads and blemishes cleared up completely. I am sure it was the proactiv hat was causing them as I wasnt using or eating anything different. It didnt work for me and made my skin much worse. However its the only line that works for my cousin. Bottom line if you have the time and money you can try this stuff. If it doesnt work for you though move on to something else. Right now I am using Duac and have had the best results out of all the acne products I have tried so far. Good luck on your search.

Pros:

just sat here for five minutes..couldn't think of any

Cons:

drying, irritating, burning, stinging, expensive.

let's just say they should be called the harsh cleanser, burning toner, and stinging lotion...add drying to all that and that's proactiv for ya Im really dissapointed because it sounds really good when they describe it to you...but there's a reason this company gets such bad reviews and it's because unless your face is a GIANT pimple your skin will freak out if you use this! If I got the GENTLER one I would be horrified to see what the less gentle one was...jeez I only used this for two nights and I have itchy, inflamed (and still broken out) skin. Yuck. Don't buy please- I plan on returning soon.
