Didnt work long term
I used this in my early 20's and it did cleared my skin and at some point I stopped using it (dont remember why, probably cost or i thought I didnt need it any longer) I Tried it again around age 29 and it didnt work at all. I think depending on the severity this could and clearly does work for many people but if you are dealing with a long term problem like I was you should probably try something else.

Worked the first time.

Pros:

good for oily skin
2.5% BP repairing lotion
help reduce breakout initially

Cons:

a bit expensive
not fragrance free

I have an acne prone face and I've had acne problems ever since I can remember. Proactiv was the very first endorsed-and-slightly-expensive product line I bought to fight my acne problems and I remember how my breakout lessened in the first couple of month of usage (and I was not being discipline, mind you). My face was left with only one, at most two, pimples at a time. It worked great and I thought I would repurchase it again after I finish my first round of the regimen. Unfortunately, I had to move to a neighboring country where proactiv is not readily available at the stores. I guess I could always go for online purchasing but instead I went to a dermatologist. My face cleared up completely but not long after I had to move back to the other country, and so I went back to proactiv once again. Sadly to say it did not work as well as the first try (didn't reduce the breakouts) and I was really bummed. But this might have something to do with the fact that I had switched my regimen before going back to proactiv. Otherwise it worked well for me on my first try.

Helped get rid of small bumps...

Pros:

Got rid of small bumps on forehead

Cons:

Harsh on Skin
Expensive

This was the first ever acne treatment that I had tried, I will be honest and say the commercials did get to me and I was so happy that I was finally able to convince my parents to buy it for me. While I don't really recall it making it any worse it sure as heck was not getting me to the desired results I so desperately wanted after so many months of consistent use. However, i did find that it helped the tiny bumps that i would get on my forehead but nothing drastic changed. Total Waste of Money!

Pros:

Works for a little bit
Gets rid of white heads
Reduces redness

Cons:

Does not heal anything other than whiteheads or black heads
Drys out skin
Laughably small
Stops working at some point

I have acne on my chin, around my mouth, and I sometimes get little baby whiteheads on my forehead. Proactiv got rid of my acne the fist week I got it- but then things went downhill. My acne was like nothing I had ever seen before- big red painful bumps on my forehead, zips so close to my lips it hurt to smile. THEN came the painful dryness. It took almost a tube of moustrizer to fix! That was my breaking point- I had never had dry skin before, and I wasn't about to start. All in all, I was disappointed

Pros:

- The face mask is super good and gets rid of acne fast.
- The Green Tea Moisturizer is great.

Cons:

- Takes a long time for all three steps.
- Main ingredient is bleach.

My sister uses it and she still has moderate acne but it gets rid of some acne. I LOVE the face mask and Green Tea Moisturizer.

Pros:

I loved the Repairing Lotion, Refining Mask and Green Tea Moisturizer.

Cons:

Expensive, extra products pricey for how much you get, did nothing for me.

I saw Proactive as my "wonder product". I expected it to be my last step in treating acne. It wasn't. Whilst I saw a dramatic improvement in my skin after about 8-9 weeks, it pretty much stopped its "wonder" there. My skin wasn't clear, I still had breakouts, and when I had them they were big, red and much, much worse than they used to be. I used Proactive for 8 months and I was sadly disappointed. The only product I would recommend is the Green Tea Moisturizer, but only because I found it soothing. Their prices are extreme ($60 for 50ml moisturizer) and off-putting. I wouldn't recommend at all. So disappointed.

Pros:

Didn't dry out my skin like some people said it did to theirs
Left my skin feeling clean

Cons:

Didn't actually work at all, in fact it made my acne slightly worse
The cleanser scrubs your skin too harshly
Very small bottles, not enough product to last 60 days

Good just to generally cleanse and tone etc as a regime for people with normal (clear) skin, but not worth the £45 because it didn't actually help my acne at all, in fact it made it worse
