Pros:

none that i can think of.

Cons:

proactive gave me the most serious case of closed comedones i have ever seen in real life. my forehead, where i dont usually break out, was a thick, lumpy layer of whiteheads that couldnt be popped.

i usually don't write on these boards, but i felt i had to comment on proactive. i started using only the face wash it and saw some instant, promising results. my skin initially looked polished and clean, and i thought i might have won my lifelong acne struggle. when my forehead started erupting in whiteheads, i washed more to try and get rid of them. bad idea. i cant even find a comparable picture online of how bad my forehead was. i also became 10x more oily on my face than i usually am. it was terrible and i became depressed. i decided to stop proactive to see if it was the problem, and viola! 3 days in and my forehead is almost clear. please, beware and good luck.

Pros:

worked. for a little while, at least

Cons:

Well, smells horrible, burns, makes acne worse.

A few weeks ago, there was an article in the newspaper about acne treatments, and Proactive was mentioned. It listed the ingredients, all of which were bad for you. The article came out just about a month or a month and a half after I had bought Proactive. The paper even stated that Proactive was bad for your skin, and health. I think that part of getting clear and clean skin is just getting rid of the chemicals that are on it, and it seems Proactive only adds those.

Pros:

In the first couple of weeks, it clears skin up great!

Cons:

leaves skin feeling itchy, dry and tight. Takes too long to go through the process, and the product is not worth the price.

When I first started, I had very mild acne, but a few bumps here and there underneath my skin. I tried the product and swore by it for the first few months (2-3 months). Currently I started noticing that I am getting big blotches all over my face that never used to pop up when I used cheap brands. It's still nothing that makeup can't hide, but it is safe to say that it works in the beginning, but then stops working. Please take into consideration the stress levels that are in your life when the product stops working...(for those that have similar stories to mine). I am going to keep using it until my stress level is down a bit, and if it continues to not work, I will switch. Hope this helps anyone!

Pros:

Some of it smelled nice

Cons:

Proactiv fails to inform you of the subscription plan that automatically enrolls you and charges you $20 a month, simply does not work for anything more than very light acne

When I first bought proactive, it came with a face wash, some sort of blue astringent, and the BP lotion. The face wash smelled nice. That was about it. Had some exfoliating beads that felt like they were ripping my face apart. For me, the astringent roughly had the same effects as some cold water. Only is stung and wreaked of alcohol. The lotion was like glue that stuck to my face. I have to lend it to Proactiv though, the product inspired me to stop buying these sort of products and turn to a dermatologist. The ONLY reason Proactiv has over 10 million customers is because it is marketed so well and so much, NOT because it works well. 6 months of Accutane cleared me right up. Now I use a Neutrogena face wash twice a day that does dry out my face a little...but that's what these things are meant to do. If you're like me and are desperately searching for a solution, don't reach for Proactiv. It will fail you. See a dermatologist.

Pros:

Green Tea Moisturiser is pretty nice

Cons:

Did not make my skin any better. In fact my skin cleared up after i stoped using it.

In the comercials they make the bottles look normal size. When I opened the practive box, I was kind of shocked to find 1 and 2 oz bottles... not what I was expecting.

Pros:

Masks small non inflamed pimples

Cons:

My skin isn't sensitive but turned all the acne that I did have very red

When I was reading the reviews about proactiv not working I was like these people are probably not being consistent. However that is not the case I have. Been using it for about a month consistentley and haven't had a single result except that it will mask small pimples. I still get continous breakouts in the some areas. Not to mention pimples on my forehead that I didn't have a problem with before. Try it if your skeptical but didn't work for me

Pros:

when i got this product i thought that it would work due to the fact of all the stories i say on tv about this product. Yes i must say that this product did work i say the changes on the first day i started to use it.

Cons:

Well yes i did say that it works but only if you keep using the product. i missed one day of using pro-active and i had two large pimples on my face. The product does not get rid of the blemishes and pimples it covers them up

I feel if you wan to use his product by all means but just know if you want healthy skin forever never stop using this product dont miss any days and your skin will look perfect. But if you do hapen to miss a day of using this product you wil regret it

Pros:

I did feel a very genuine "cleanness" after I used proActive.

Cons:

Too many to count: made little to no difference in relieving acne. Caused huge areas of extreme itchy/redness. Also, way too expensive. They force you to order monthly. I had not gotten through all of it, and they charged me for another month!

Little to no effect on my acne, but a lot of strange changes in my skin. ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

Pros:

There were none.

Cons:

Not only did it dry out my skin, but although I had midly moderate acne to begin with, it turned into severe. I thought that maybe it took a while to work so I continued using it for about three months and my face was horrendous.

It was horrible, I would not recommend this product to anyone who has anything but slight acne, it turned my face red, and I broke out for months with painful acne everywhere. Now my face is just starting to readjust.

Pros:

It works really well for the first year or so... a major difference within the first few uses.

Cons:

After a few months it loses its effectiveness for some reason, maybe it's drying my skin out too much?

No
