Pros:

When I first started using it I noticed a great difference

Cons:

Over time my skin became really dry so I stopped using it. I waited a year to try it again and it was terribly harsh on my skin

I would be cautious in using it because I think it is so hard on delicate facial skin. It can deplete your moisture over time & make your skin worse, which is what I think it did to me. Be careful also with the sales persons; they recommend using their super strength products if you're still breaking out, which is probably comparable to battery acid.

Pros:

The product did clear my face, it has a nice mild smell

Cons:

it cleared up my skin BUT it dries out your skin I've used the product for over a year now and I have started getting fine lines around my mouth from my skin being dried out to much and I have developed dark patches on my face

everyones skin is not the same and result are going to very from person to person but I had to stop useing the toner and the repairing lotion I just use the cleanser ,So in my case I have to make a choice I can have clear skin or premature old skin I think my choice is KEEP SHOPPING AROUND FOR A BETTER product that won't make me look old ,dried out!

Pros:

I don't believe there is any reason to buy this product.

Cons:

This is an expensive item that did nothing for my acne. I have since discovered the Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Control Kit and it works wonderfully!

Do not get Proactive, get the Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Control Kit.

Pros:

The sulfur mask really does work.

Cons:

Irritation, skin extra vulnerable to sun when using toner.

From experience, only the mask worked (and ironically there is very little of it). The lotion burns and the exfoliant doesn't feel like it works at all. The toner is so-so.

Pros:

This product works in the beginning. When your face eventually gets use to the medication the acne returns.

Cons:

Very expensive! Drys out face so you better buy a moisturizer if you decide to buy the three step system. Leaves face very oily and itchy.

Ladies and gentlemen, here is my two cents. This product truly does work for the first couple of months. But over time, your face starts to become oily which in the end brings back the acne you were initially fighting. All I can say is if you are running out of options, try this product. Don't expect it to work consistently though. Let's just say if I stopped using Proactiv my face would be worse than it already is. So the product does work but not completely. Good luck!

Pros:

I think it probably actually works for people.

Cons:

Lots! You get a dependency on it, it gets expensive, and all those chemicals cannot be healthy for your skin in the long run.

Treatments like Accutane and Proactiv are very controversial because they work dramatically for many people, but not without a cost or side effect. Personally, I could only use Proactiv for a day and when I went to get my eyebrows done at a salon which happens to also be a skincare center they warned me about the damage they could see to my skin from just one usage of Proactiv, and they gave me a BPO combo cream and a Vitamin C balm and I finally healed. I'm scared of Proactiv because I think it causes you to get a dependency and then you have to keep paying for it and using it forever. It's almost like a drug that way. Well, I guess it is a drug. I understand about desperation but the sales rep even told me it takes six weeks to start working! What about people with proms and weddings coming up?? Makeup cannot hide raised blemishes well. I'm a fan of the natural route, so I use lemon juice as a drink AND topically, plus a burdock root compound and the BPO cream/vitamin C balm.

Pros:

Cons:

made my skin worse than it was to begin with

like so many others, at first i thought, yes!!! this is actually working! then my skin started to get large breakouts, but i thought ok, this is all the junk underneath coming to the surface so i continued to use the product. i should have saved myself the trouble. now i have horrible marks from the breakouts i did get and my skin has never looked so bad. ingenious marketing, horrible product.
