This is the worst treatment I have ever used.

Cons:

Chemically Burnt Face
Stings
Doesn't work after few weeks of use

I have had acne since the age of 12-13. Around three days before the school year started I did my normal shower routine. Srubba dubb dubb then get out and use my proactive. But on that day, the liquid stuff you pud on a cotton cleaning pad thing burnt my face more than it usually did. I instantly stopped and ran cold water over my face. I slept with ice packs on my face because it seemed that my whole left side of my face was an open wound (but not deep enough to bleed.) When i woke up the next morning nothing changed. School started on a friday the next day and my face stayed the same. It felt like I had rug burn all down my face. That night my mother took me to the doctor and they said put diaper rash cream on it. Then the next morning my whole face looked like shattered glass and the top layer of skin was peeling off and sounded like cling wrap coming off plastic when it did. It took three weeks to completely rid myself of those (as the doctor considered them) chemical burns. I have never used that crappy product again. I have multiple friends and even girlfriend who have acne from being mild to severe and they all even say this product may work for 1-4 weeks but after that it is just a hassle. I MUCH more recommend Benzoyl Peroxide face gel and got the generic brand from my pharmacy that is actually stronger than the name brand kind. Hope no one buys this product!

why is this still on the market?

Pros:

Sulfur mask

Cons:

Burns
Drying
Costs a lot

I have had bad acne for a while. The first time I tried this it felt okay. I thought my skin was getting better. Then within 2 weeks, it got so bad. The cleanser is so harsh, the toner feels like it's stripping the good oils from my face, and the lotion feels weird. The only good thing was the sulfur mask. Loved that. The second time I tried it, my skin got burned so bad. Ugh. Stupid mistake. The people in the Proactiv commercials only have like 3 pimples. Poor advertising. This product is not worth it.

DO NOT USE PROACTIV

Pros:

Worked for a year

Cons:

Expensive
Stops working
Makes face worse

I used to use duac for about 3-4 years through high school, then it stopped working. Switched to proactiv and it worked amazingly for 1 year, then one morning I woke up feeling the most pain ever on my face. Kept applying it for another month hoping that it would get better, but it just got worse. Had huge red cystic acne that would never come to a head until like 2-3 weeks. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT, IT WILL ONLY HURT YOU.

Proactiv is bad for you

Pros:

Got to say I used Proactiv

Cons:

rebound acne and oiliness
BP contributes to red marks
expensive for stuff that doesn't work

I used this for about a year. The active ingredient in all their products, (even the moisturizer) is benzoyl peroxide which just dries out your skin. You might just as well throw some random chemicals on your face. It seemed like it work at first, then I got terrible rebound oiliness and a cystic acne. And the red marks turned into what seems to be permanent spots. That's why they offer a dark spot corrector!! I kept thinking I was doing something wrong! And it was a huge hairy deal to cancel my auto subscription.

refining mask
I have only tried the refining mask and if i dabbed a bit on a spot and left it over night it really helped to reduce the size and redness!

TERRIBLE

Pros:

Works for like a week

Cons:

Drys skin
Makes it red
Makes your skin break out

I started breaking out in fourth grade, with minor pimples, so my mom bought me proactiv. It worked for about a week, then my skin got red and broke out. It was terrible. I was a little chubby and now i had zits, so the stress got worse and worse. Now I am in seventh grade and my skin is almost clear, but proactiv started this nightmare i went through with my skin... IT'S A SCAM DO NOT BUY THIS TERRIBLE PRODUCT!

Eh
I had some mild skin congestion going on on my forehead in sixth grade. I used this for three months and I was cleared up. It left my with some pretty bad discoloration though, probably cause I never moisturized (no one told me this stuff lol) I thought I would just stop using it since I was clear, but I broke out worse than before. I tried using it again, but it didn't work. Skin = immune to it.

Very Good
I first started using this is because I have had acne for at least 2 years now,it has bothered me a lot,I am 14 years old.I have tried many things:THE BODY SHOP tea tree oil , Aloe Gel plain soap and water'''''all of these didn't really make much of a difference to my face, but then my friend told me about PROACTIV so I decided to try it,and it worked very well for me.Maybe this product might not be that affective for other people but it has helped me a lot,I have only used this for a few weeks and I love it!!!Family and friends all say that I have less acne now.
