Pros:

Face feels clean.

Cons:

I have been using this product religiously for almost 4 years (morning & night). I don't know why I keep using it... false hope!! It has not helped my skin and I feel like it's gotten worse over the years...

I guess it depends on the person... it works for some and doesn't for others... Best of luck!!!

Pros:

Proactiv worked for the first two months that I used it. My skin was smooth and clear and I felt awesome

Cons:

After two months, it stopped working and then my forehead and temples, and upper cheeks started to get tiny pimples, like a rash on them. I kept using proactiv because I thought maybe I just hadn't been using it consistently enough.

It worked for a little while, but ultimately, it made my skin worse than it had ever been before. I bought it because my skin was a little rough before and I had the occassional breakouts around my chin and mouth area. Now my whole forehead is a mess and my overall face is so unpleasant to touch, that I can't even run my fingers over it. I've switched back to St. Ives apricot face scrub and the bumps are starting to fade away. Proactiv was the worst thing I've done to my skin.

Pros:

Works well if used sparingly, twice a day (2.5% BP Repairing Lotion only)

Cons:

Expensive and you don't need all three steps, only the Repairing Lotion

After many years of tinkering with the Proactiv system, I have found I only need the Repairing Lotion. I use a gentle cleanser and various moisturizers. I found this website while searching for ways to treat back acne for a male friend. It was then I realized I should try to find a 2.5% BP solution because I didn't want to continue to buy all three steps from Proactiv. Well, it's very hard to find. Several drug store trips only produced small bottles of 5-10% BP. After many internet searches (many that landed me back on this site), I found this: [link removed] A bigger size of 2.5% BP lotion. To treat my friend, I plan to recommend an organic tea tree oil gentle cleanser, followed by 2.5% BP lotion and finally an organic calendula lotion. I expect it will work quite well although some of the posts here indicate for back acne I might need to add glycolic acid.

great product crappy customer service
Ive been using proactive for months and I love it but every time I call to order I can never just get what im ordering its always an upsell or oh let me add this....just let me order what I want. and tonight was the worst! I ordered my 3 step for the month and asked to be sent to customer service to order and extra step one and the lady who anwsered for the "customer service" was so rude to say I needed to call back tomorrow to order again!! Whatif I wanted my whole order together? Im debating whether to order again!!!! I would recommend the product but the people selling it need a touch of kindness!

Pros:

-easy to order
-clears skin but when i stopped using it for a few days i got a few pimples.
-the fragrance doesnt really bother me

Cons:

- dry`s out my skin
- makes my skin itchy sometimes
-have to moisturize much more than usual.

over all it works, but you have to learn to use it with moderation ....the benzoyl peroxide and the salicilic acid that it contains dries the skin .... so i recommend to use it 3-4 times a week instead of every day.

Pros:

I am on the fence as far as liking it and rating but Proactiv does, indeed fact work. i was breaking out and having pimples after pimples then the haorrible blemishes and started using proactiv and it cleared my face up tremendously. First few days will cause more breakup because your face is getting use to the product but it does work!!!

Cons:

HOWEVER, once you stop using proactiv. Completely. I was using it for just about up to almost 4-5 months, (after your face has cleared up) ACNE COMES BACK WITH A VENGENCE. All the breakouts and pimples get worst. Like the product is crack for your face and once youre off it, it goes haywire. I have been off Proactiv for over an year now (now using Cetaphil and PanOxyl) and have mild to moderate. :-( thought about getting back on Proactiv but i dont know. AND ITS too costly!!! They charge you and

Great temporary fix. For me it cleared and heal, but once i canceled my subscription and stop using it, my acne came back with a vengence. Overall to costly and I hated the payment plans/process/Charges!!!!

Pros:

-flattened out a lot of my little bumbs
-evened my skin tone out a little
-prevented some future pimples

Cons:

-didnt flatten my big, forming pimples!
-made my skin dry, there for causing more acne
-made my face pale!!
-BURNED ME

I do think its a good product just not as great as I hoped. You have to be really dumb to walk outside with proactiv still on. Obviously you have to wash it off and you wont get a sunburn. I still get about one pimple per week including blackheads. Not to mention my acne marks and bumps that just wont go away. My face is oily! Also make sure your hands are sanitized before using proactiv. Popping a small pimple is like asking for three more too come out. Last, PROACTIV WONT CURE YOUR ACNE!! SO DONT GET YOUR HOPES UP!!

Pros:

Acne disappears for the time Proactiv is used.

Cons:

Cleanser and moisturizer runs out quickly.
Acne comes back after stopping use.

My acne just wouldn't go away, so I finally decided to try Proactiv because I heard that it worked. And it did. In a couple weeks, the acne was disappearing and after a month or two, it was gone. Because the cleanser runs out fast, I had to keep buying it. I finally decided to stop using Proactiv about a month ago. All the acne came back, twice as bad as it used to be before I started it. I'm contemplating whether to get back on Proactiv or not.

Pros:

works if your acne isn't bad

Cons:

doesn't work if your acne is bad

when I was a teen my acne i had some acne but luckily it wasn't too bad. I used this for about a year and it seemed to keep it away pretty good. not sure why but my acne came back full force when I was 23 and i tried this again and it did nothing. tried murad and again nothing. I strongly believe that if your acne is more than just mild or happens sometimes, you need to do something within your body to make it go away. I used Exposed then Zenmed and both worked because they have herbs to clear your body which is what you need. Either that or meds from dr. I'm choosing not recommending because if your acne is bad you will need something else. If your acne really isn't that bad u can prob try this though.

Pros:

cant think of any

Cons:

smelly, redness, alot of steps, pricey

uses bad ingredients such as fragrance, starch, & much more i bet. didnt really help me at all. & i hate how many advertisments are on tv its so annyoing. im suprised it says it helps acne when there are bad ingredients in it, if all the bad ingredients were gone i would use it. & the face cleanser feels like i always have to use more cause it feels like theres none on my face when i put it on. im going to try ProNexin now : )
