Pros:

none

Cons:

-more breakouts
-skin was more red
-did not help with scars

I used proactive for two months and it did nothing for me. I paid way too much for three tiny little bottles because I expected for it to work eventually, but it didn't. Unfortunately they shipped a regular size package to me soon thereafter. I didn't want more, so I sent it back. Still, they continued to charge me $39.90. Awesome. I called today around 9:30 this morning and a very unpleasant, rude woman attempted to "help" me. She raised her voice when I asked her to repeat a couple of things and told me I had to pay. I don't know what is wrong with Proactiv employees, but good gracious, she was so mean. Not only that, but I asked her to give me the number for an employee review and she refused to give me the number. I'm done with this company. I will find treatment elsewhere and support someone who actually needs my business.

Pros:

For me nothing

Cons:

Dried out skin
irritating
harsh
makes acne look more red

I thought this was the ultimate solution to acne but I found it to be another dissapointment. It really dried out my skin to the point where any moisterizer I used would not work on my face inlcuding $60 yonka creams. It made the small pimples look very red. My entire complextion lost any glow to it my skin just looked dull with red dots everywhere. I honestly think it just made my skin worse. Maybe it could work for people who dont have hormonal acne and arent washing their faces properly but If your one of those people who do take care of their skin and have consistent acne then I wouldn't recommend this product. Ultimately their is no face wash that will magically make your acne go away. So instead of suffering for years hoping that your face will clear go to a doctor and fix the problem internally rather than trying to cover the problem externally.

Pros:

It is relatively inexpensive and that is about it.

Cons:

It made my complexion worse (I did use it correctly; I know how to read and follow directions). I experienced dry spots, and breakouts to the 10th power. I am actually still trying to recuperate my skin two weeks after use.

Everyone's skin is different. The product may work for your skin type, but it definitely did NOT work for mine. *I really wanted to rate it a 0, but I did not have that option.

Pros:

-left my face feeling clean, refreshed
-shipped to my door
-helped with already present pimples

Cons:

-itchy dry skin (even with a ton of facial lotion!)
-didn't help to prevent future breakouts at all
-scammed into paying double the price (it's already expensive enough!)
-be prepared to wait 20+ minutes to speak to a customer service representative on the phone
-isn't the 'miracle worker' it is advertised over and over to be

Proactiv doesn't work any better than something that's half the price. It's very expensive, and incredibly scheming...I was told I would get the introductory rate for the first shipment ($19.95 like they advertise on TV).. What they didn't tell me was that it was TWO payments of $19.95. What a shock I received on my bank statement when I realized that I was lied to and charged $40.00! Customer Service was horrible and didn't do anything to help my situation but say 'Sorry!' I wouldn't ever recommend anyone use Proactiv.

Pros:

- gets rid of bumps

Cons:

- extremely dry skin
- doesn't do anything for pores
- irritates horribly
- expensive

This product worked for a few months. then it took a drastic turn. My skin started to become very dry, especially around my mouth and chin. It made my face very itchy and irritated. It was becoming unbearable. I tried using the proactiv oil free moisturizer for the dryness but it made my face very oily (how ironic) and it didn't work. The only thing I like about this product was it got rid of bumps and made my skin somewhat even. But it is not worth it. its way too much money and it didn't work for me at all.

Pros:

None

Cons:

EXTREMELY drying and irritating. Made acne much worse after using as directed for several months. Time consuming. Expensive.

I used as directed falsely believing it had to get worse before it got better. 3 months is way too long to wait for a product to work. I had never had a reaction to ANY over-the-counter product with benzoyl peroxide in the past (they just didn't work). Proactiv was the first product that caused unbelievable drying and irritation even though I moisturized daily. It is also the first product that made my acne MUCH worse. Even after I stopped using it, I had very bad, painful outbreaks on the side of my chin for almost a year. The steps are time consuming. If you do decide to use it, whatever you do USE WHITE TOWELS! I can't even count how many washcloths and towels were bleached and ruined because I used them after I thought my face was rinsed thoroughly. Also, when I ordered online I didn't realize I was signing up for future orders. When I called customer service I was told the only way to avoid that was if I had ordered by phone originally. I went to a dermatologist for the first time for an unrelated issue, and he noticed my acne scars and prescribed Clindamycin gel. That was over a year ago and I haven't had a breakout since. My skin has cleared up COMPLETELY. Just one thin layer once a day. I don't know if it works for everyone, but that is what I recommend. And with insurance it was much cheaper

pros? what pros?

Cons:

Makes skin DRY.. makes you break out EVEN MORE! is a WASTE of money!

I had nice skin, but with kickboxing and having vasaline slobbered all over my face before training and fights.. the sweat and vasaline would clog my skin and made me break out a little bit. I tried proactive for 2 weeks.. and holy @#$%.. my face has never looked this bad EVER! i look like a kid who just hit puberity! my forehead is a disaster.. and chin line broke out. My skin go SO DRY that on the 3rd day it was like.. flakey.. i had to switch to my Dove moistureizer. which for $8.99 WORKED! This stuff is crap.. made my situation worse.. and now i have to clear it up another way.. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Thanks for ruining my face Proactive.. idiots..

Proactiv not for long term use. acne will get worse and product is overpriced
Proactiv will initially help to clear your skin (not a cure for acne by any means) but its effectiveness will decrease over time. If you look at the amount of money you pay (or are forced to pay) for proactiv it is actually a lot cheaper to go to a dermatologist and get an individualized treatment plan for your acne. I got tired of not seeing results and decided to go to a dermatologist. Too much to pay for proactiv for no results.

Don't work takes more money!
Suffering from spot for many years not severe but clusters of them on times, not only did this make my spots worse but I hadn't read the small print (my mistake but who does?) which meant I had accidental signed up ad ended up paying £60 for more which I didn't even want!
