Pros:

-Gentle
-Does not take long to see results

Cons:

-Purging Period

I have had acne all my life and have used just about every over the counter product. When I bought this I was pretty skeptical but I can honestly say its been great on my skin, very gentle and effective at preventing breakouts. This product has done wonders for my skin.

Pros:

Gentle
Makes skin soft
Clears skin quickly
Does not bleach the skin
Not too drying

Cons:

None really

Really great product! Murad is the gentlest acne system I have ever used. I only use the treatment gel once a day and it is not too drying. Within a week most of my pimples were gone and my skin felt smoother overall. Im surprised to see so many negative reviews for this product, because it is very gentle, if used correctly. I did not experience the "purging stage" at all with this product. I would definitely recommend trying it.

Pros:

Great Smell, Works an absolute treat.
Simple to use. Well priced for a treatment system (Have previously paid more for products that did way less).

Cons:

The first week my skin did "purge", but this was over quickly. Skin did dry/peel slightly but it is fine now.

I've not written a review before, but after seeing so much bad feedback about this product I thought it was nessisary for another point of view. I've suffered from acne ranging from mild to severe since I was 13, Now 21 It's fair to say i was fed up and tried this product as a last resort. it cleans the skins fantastically, smells great and is so simple to use. With this said, I feel like lifestyle has a big bearing with this product. If your going to eat rubbish, expect rubbish. If your going to cover your face with masses of make up to cover a break out, expect it to get worse/hardly heal (I'm so very guilty of this). I can say my skin right now is the best it's been since I was 13 and am actually confident enough to leave the house without make up. The spot treatment is definitely the BEST spot treatment i've ever used as well. It's less harsh on skin but does the job. Obviously, this product won't suit everyone, but look past the "purging" stage and it's worth it. I maintain, there is so many pro's to this product.

Pros:

It works. You just have to be smart about what you put inside your body.

Ok people. I want to clear things up with everyone out there. This product will help you but you must be ready to make a commitment to not only your skin but what you eat and how you exercise. If you eat greasy disgusting food and drink soda then don't expect miracles. Beauty comes from the inside out. It's a reflection of our colon, and how are systems work together. If you have hormonal acne then I suggest going on some hormone balancing vitamins. And stay away from dairy. It's inflammatory. I can continue on and on with this review about it but let me tell you about me. I never had acne. I recently came off birth control and BAM!! My face has never been so bad. I tried everything. Then I went and tried murad. It worked to a degree but it wasn't the miracle cure UNTIL!!! I correlated with eating healthy, and getting some biotin vitamins, along with hormone balancing vitamins. My skin still breaks out when I eat HORRIBLE food, like fast food... but I realize now that it's not due to this product

Pros:

Works to clear blemishes and PREVENT new ones like it says.
The only thing that reduced the oil on my face.
Soothing, clean smell.
Worked fast!

Cons:

I really can't think of any....

I absolutely LOVE this line of products. I'm sorry to hear other people don't have the same results. I have the most sensitive skin known to man and most things irritate and make me break-out, however this product worked within days of starting and really cleared my very broken out skin. I had used proactiv for years and it always kept my skin pretty clear, but suddenly it became WAY to harsh on my face and made my skin worse. Murad products were my savior and were much more effective than proactiv, but very gentle. My since has not been overly dry since I started. I also never had a purge with this product. I guess it varies for people. Just a side note: right around the time I started using this product I also cut out dairy, gluten, processed foods and meat. I really think there is some truth to your diet..especially dairy! Stay away! I also think Yasmin BC is great for acne prone skin....I started taking that particular kind again about a week ago and I already see an even better improvement. I say definitely try Murad!

Pros:

comes with a pore-cleansing mask
effective sulfur spot treatment
less acne breakouts over the long term

Cons:

purging period
the spot treatment is ITCHY
mediocre moisturizer
acne treatment made my face look oily

First of all, the "clear skin in 4 weeks" guarantee is false. Depending on the depth and severity of your acne, it will probably take longer. Second of all, the bad reviews are based on the purging period during which acne-causing bacteria is resurfaced (in the form of acne, or course). This is essential to clear skin!!! I've been trying this product for a month, and have endured discouragement from my family because my acne was getting worse. But towards the end of the month, my skin greatly improved! I went from having severe acne all over my forehead (this was before using Murad) to only about 3 pimples in the area and some tiny ones. My cheeks have undergone similar improvement. However, it'll probably take another month or so for my acne to disappear completely, so I repurchased it. I would highly recommend using this product only if you have the patience and perseverance to stick with it. Murad will be the last acne product I will ever have to use!!

Pros:

Skin cleared up

Cons:

May dry out skin a bit, but nothing to be paranoid about.

I just recently bought it, and absolutely love it! My skin cleared up in 3 days, Unbelievable!! I tried so many products and spent so much money. I never broke out until I turned 23 and it was horrible! It was cystic acne, which was so gross and painful! I got a facial at massage envy and they recommended this product, I went home and thought about it for a week and finally went back and bought it.

Pros:

It worked for me. Skin is clear and scarring is starting to reduce. Easy to use and quick results. No bleaching of fabrics.

Cons:

Quite expensive and has to be bought online as nowhere seems to stock it. Your skin remains a bit oily but mine was oily before.

I've read all the negative reviews on here and felt I should balance it up with my story. I bought a trial pack of the Murad acne system for £7.50 (12-15 dollars) on sale here in the UK. It worked so quickly and so well that I have ordered a 60 day pack from the Murad web site. After 3 weeks my skin is clear and spot free. I have not experienced any of the negative side effects mentioned on here. I think I should say that my skin was pretty oily before and that maybe it works best on that skin type. Unlike BP, it hasn't dried my skin out and I do need to blot/reapply powder more often that I used to using BP. BUT my skin is acne free and my scarring is starting to improve too. If your skin is oily to very oily, I'd give it a try.

Pros:

Within 2days of using this product I noticed improvement. Thankfully the boxed set was the right combination for my skin because I didn't have any issues. I plan to continue using this product line.

Cons:

Very expensive.

I would recommend this product

Pros:

Clears skin. Cooling. Preventative. Chemical exfoliation. Hydrating.

Cons:

None.

This is a perfect blend of chemical exfoliation from the salicylic acid (BHA) and citrus oils. Anti-inflammatory properties from the lavender oil, black cohosh and castor oil. The castor oil and apricot kernel oil help balance oil production, lightly hydrate. Plant oils are similar to skin oils which allow for the ingredients to penetrate past the acid mantle (natural oil barrier on the skin) and keep the skin hydrated since salicylic acid is meant to remove excess oil and help loosen blackheads. The oils it contains are not synthetic so it does not cause sensitivity or clog the pores. The menthol causes a cooling effect that gives skin a tingly clean feeling without overly stripping the skin. A moisturizer and SPF is a must due to the chemical exfoliation and to not let it all go to waste. I have never had more amazing skin. I use this in the A.M. because my makeup goes on smooth and since my oil is regulated my makeup wears longer even without primer. I have combination skin so I think using it in the morning is enough. I use something more neutral in the evening with makeup removing properties. Not for dry skin as the salicylic may further dry out your skin. Try something gentler like lactic, malic or glycolic acid. IT IS AMAZING. I am just a skincare fanatic and I give this 5 stars. ****THIS WAS TO RESPOND TO THE LAST PERSON WHO HAS NO CLUE ABOUT INGREDIENTS. If it doesn't work, its because your treating the issue while ignoring your skin type. You may need something more aggressive or gentler with time released ingredients. Be nice to your biggest organ. Hope you find something that works. :)
