Pros:

Cleanser seems to cleanse well. Takes time. Be patient.

Cons:

Takes a really really really long time to work. But i think it works.

Well I'm African American. Bottom line is when i got this product it made me break out even worse. All over. It really sucked and was very uncool. This product works product but not in 4 weeks. Not for me atleast. It took me about 4 months until my skin was completely clear. I had only 1 or two pimples and they would stay small and go away fast. I stopped using this product because i read some GREAT reviews on how applying lemon juice on your face WORKS WELL AGAINST ACNE. I was skeptical but I went for it and tried the lemon. I've been using lemon for a month now and i think it's working very well. i've had two pimples in one month and they were fairly small. Try the lemon. I highly recommend it people. I still have my last shipment of murad acne complex that i have not opened yet. If the lemon does not work i'll definitely go back to murad. Murad works very very very slow but i think if you're patient it will work. Your skin just has to get used to it.

Pros:

My skin looked great for a while, when I use it twice a day.

Cons:

Like most products, it starts to wain. It wasn't exfoliating properly and my nose would always peel. Spot treatment does not work. I developed the cysts too. According to my derm its called milia. I am going to have her remove th

It can make your skin look really clean...before this product I would get one or two bumps a month, so it's not hard for me to get clear skin. I definitely won't recommend it, because it's about to cost me more money to fix what has happened, about $150 to get the cyst extracted. BTW, i have used this for 2 years, the cysts just occurred about 3 months ago.

Pros:

The cleanser was nice and did make my face feel soft. It lathered really well with a small amount. It seemed to clear up the small white bumps I developed after years of using Proactive. The lotion was ok.

Cons:

The step 2 gel was slimmy and over dried my skin. The sulfur spot treatment was messy. Overall the Cystic acne was still there and even seemed worse.

Not worth the money and dashed hopes.

Pros:

It was light on my skin :)

Cons:

Didn't make it worse NOR better.

I have oily sensitive skin that usually gets red and irritated after using over the conuter acne meds. Usually my skin doesn't react very well with acne products but this didn't irritate my skin. The bad thing is that it didn't improve my problem... I did love the moisturizer though.

Pros:

Some smoothing/softness of skin in places with no acne, some slight improvement.

Cons:

Tedious application, not good for moderate or severe acne with nodules and cysts.

Here's my two cents: I am a 26 year old female that has been dealing with acne since the age of 13. Some years have been clear, others not so much. Recently, the discontinuation of birth control made my face EXPLODE with nodules, cysts, and whiteheads. I was on the Murad Acne Complex Kit for 3 solid months, and used it religiously. Didn't miss a morning or night ever. It did nothing for my cysts or nodules. Kept clear areas clear, but I was still breaking out. After spending hundreds of dollars, I finally broke down and went to the dermatologist. My point? This might work for mild acne (whiteheads, pustules, etc.) But if you have cysts and nodules, go to the derm. Get a prescription. Get an antibiotic. That's how you treat moderate/severe acne. NOT the Murad Acne Complex Kit.

Pros:

The cleanser felt like it left my skin clean and fresh. Reduced my large pimples.

Cons:

Made my skin extra oily. Gave me a bunch of tiny pimples all over.

I've been suffering with acne since i was 12 and I'm 22 now. I've been on accutane three different times and it was a miracle drug, it left my face flawless but of course the results did not last. Before I started with Murad I would get large individual pimples and I would always pick and it would leave red scars. Since I started using Murad four weeks ago, my pimples have greatly reduced in size but left me with small zits all over my face. From a distance my face looked better but up close it was just a bumpy mess. Also it made my skin even more oily than it already was. Initially I thought it was the lotion that caused it but I think it was the treatment gel. I'm going to stop the Murad and use a retin-a & duac combo, I heard that works pretty well. Although my skin is alot better than it was when I was in my teens, I still do not want to have to deal with acne.

Pros:

Feels fresh afterward

Cons:

New acne

I've been using the product for a month: Week 1: Wow! my skin is consistently clearing up! Week 2: Occasional unexplainable zits. Side effects perhaps? Week 3-4: Uncontrollable acne all over. I have been using the product twice a day. I love the feel of it - not drying, fresh, lotion is a must. I liked the combination of the spot treatment and the Salicylic Acid gel. However, after 2 weeks it's all back and more! I've heard of developing tolerance for any acne medication you use, but in 1 week?!! I am going to a dermatologist next. I don't recommend the product, because of lack of its consistence. Also, keep in mind that purchasing a 30 day kit, you will be charged full price every 30 days thereafter.

Pros:

Smells nice, I think it has made my pores smaller..

Cons:

My skin wasn't that bad before, now over a month in, I have spots around my mouth and chin, which I never had, and little spots all over my forehead.

I don't know if now I am paying more attention to my skin so I notice the imperfections, or if Murad are trying to make my skin worse so I keep using the product to wait to work. I spent enough money on this to feel like I have to carry on. I only read good reviews before I bought, and I wish I would have read all of these before too! I think I will carry on until I run out of the products and see what it's looking like then..

Pros:

The face wash is great and left my skin feeling clean and the skin perfecting lotion seemed to work good, too. Cleared my face for about a month.

Cons:

After a month my breakouts came back with a vengeance! Its kinda pricey since it doesn't work that great. And the treatment gel smells like rotten eggs. Seriously.

I'm sure it works for some people with light acne, but it definetly didn't work for me. After about a month, I broke out worse than ever! I don't reccomend this product.

Pros:

Not very many. The fragrance is probably the best (expect treatment gel) then I'd say the way the cleanser feels when you apply it to your skin.

Cons:

Everything else. It does a so-called "Purging" to your skin. The pamplets that come with it tell you your supposed breakout, and the acne treatment gel is the worst thing I've ever smelled, and on occasion it stings, and leaves skin red and blouchy.

My experience with Murad has been a nightmare. My skin was probably in between light and moderate, one month after using it, it destroyed my skin Week 1: skin cleared up nice, a little dry, and sometimes felt a little tight, whiteheads gone, cystic acne was sizing down but on occasion became flaky Week 2: skin became more oily (due to overdrying) moderate shine, whiteheads and blackheads started to appear, cystic acne swelled a little. Week 3: skin broke out, extremly more oily. whiteheads, blackheads, and cystic acne swell Week 4: skin a little bit better. oily and shiny, whiteheads, blackhead, and cystic acne swelling done, but some left marks, and ocassional flaking. After that I sent it back for a refund, Murad basically takes acne away for about a week, and then give it back with twice as much problems. I have been using Clean & Clear products, and am almost fully cleared up.
