Tiny white plugs

I would just like to give a huge thank you to the user Aussie Scientist that has been so helpful with their information on this forum. I've been dealing with this issue since early adolescence, about 12 years old. I'm 24 now. My case of these tiny white plugs is totally an over infestation/imbalance of candida yeast, per what Aussie Scientist mentioned. I have been dealing with two of these lesions on each side of my nose and corner of my mouth for about two months now, it's day 3 of using 1% Clotrimazole Athlete's Foot Cream on these sores and they are  completely closed up, actually healing with real scab tissue, not the gooey pseudo scab, inflammation down and pain gone,  and all white plugs have went away. I can even see on my healthy skin on my chin where I also get them (but currently do not have an ongoing out break) that when I stretch out my chin, I don't see any white plugs deep under the skin like I usually do. Everything has started coming together and make sense since I checked up on this forum again and found Aussie Scientist's comments. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when I was about 10, and it took doctors 3 months to figure out it was UC, so I was on a myriad of antibiotics and assorted treatments before they diagnosed it. My UC has been in remission since the start of high school, but I feel like all the drugs I was put on prior to figuring out what I had probably contributed to my skin condition two years later and onward to present day. I've also been on oral birth control pills since about 15-16 years old. Fast forward the last two years, I've went to the doctor twice for my annual check up, and always have gotten a call back saying tests were good, but I had a spike of candida yeast present and was always asked if I was just getting over a vaginal yeast infection, or that I may be getting one soon. Both times I was not just getting over a  vaginal yeast infection, nor did I end up getting one. So it makes total sense that my body is just off balance with candida, I believe. I also have the symptoms Aussie mentioned of a white tongue and chronic fatigue, so I'm so extremely happy to finally feel like I'm making progress with this condition. My next pay I will be getting the oral nystatin he mentions so I can balance out my gut and my skin issue from the inside out. But honestly friends, please do try the clotrimazole cream! I will be attaching pictures of not this recent break out, but one on my chin from last January 2019. I will include a picture of my healed up spots I'm dealing with now though, too. Thanks so much again and I truly hope everyone dealing with this issue finds their answers.

The first five photos go in order of how this stuff progresses on my face without proper treatment (This was January of last year.) The last two photos are of me this morning, happy as a clam that I can actually cover them up with makeup today as it's REAL skin and not a gooey open bloody mess!

I agree w/ Musicgal's diagnosis...
I still believe it is also some kind of micro-organism transmuted into the Human Genome system via Vaccines...
Again one day it felt like someone punched me in the arm or just how it felt after getting a tetnis shot in the exact same spot did this thing form into what I thought was an ingrown hair...
But it turned into a hard purple callus...
Ive never had skin or health issues, never used any drugs other than smoke pot, never had any acne or skin issues...
I do admit that my diet stinks and that it likely is a small factor but because it is on my arm and a surface skin issue; one that has not moved or spread is hard to lean towards some disease...

I think its some kind of wart, mite, or mange strand... I do agree that sebum overload is likely a cause to it too...

Without taking any medications other than smoking weed; Ive found the best way to fry these legions off is with the Crushed aspirin directly into the wound after tearing the callus off& hitting it with peroxide...

As I see more people with these it make one wonder how so many people are getting them...
My Neighbor got a booster Vaccine and a day or so later in the exact same spot he too got the exact same hard purple lump...
And if he tears it off its got the plugs inside... Say what you want but I think its from Genetic Gene transformation via Vaccines...

They use a lot of Various animal by-products in them tooand if people think putting horse, dog, & pig gelatinDNA in their bodies aint affecting us, well then what else..?

There is an increase in adult acne, but if you only have one or two from time to time, then thank goodness- it is not ( yet) nodulistic acne.

I started with one...then over the next 2 1/2 years, I had forty.

They all felt like a punch in the arm when they started- nodules are deep and very stubborn. The white plugs sticking out are just the tip of a deeper and fatter nodule. The bigger they grow with more sebum, the more painful they are.

I never had vaccines as an adult, ate organic and no added hormones for fourteen years. They give stress as the reason for the increase in acne.

I was completely non-stressed when my first bump appeared on my lower face- retired early, swimming every day, meditating lots, kayaking a lot. The stuff on the web is **##!!??**.

There seems to be a lot going on in these responses.......... most of them appearto bequite different afflictions from the original post. A few months ago Istarted experiencing the exact same symptoms asthe original post described (cystic acne with sebum plug surprises in the middle!). I went to a dermatologist and confirmed. Cystic acne caused by hormonal changes! 50mg of spironolactone in the morning and a slathering of Retin A atnight and my face is WAY better! I barely wanted to be seen in the daylight, even with a crazy amount of concealer, so I can totally relate to the shared feelings of embarrassmentat the age of 40! I tried to treat my symptoms at home before finally going to see a doctor, but nothing worked outside of the prescription stuff! I know it can beexpensive/embarrassing/time-consuming/etc...... but its truly the only way to get rid of this stuff! Best wishes!

The keratin plugs/nodules are caused by the fungus, or more strictly, by the body's immune response to the fungus - either (or both) malassezia or candida. Urea and/or salicylic acid will help get rid of the keratin plugs/nodules, but they will just come back if one does not treat the fungus.

@Aussie ScientistI believe that I need to thank you as you may have seen the quality of my life. Seven years ago I contracted MRSA from a local hospital while visiting my mother I was treated for quite a few months with very strong antibiotics. Fast forward seven years February 16, 2020 Over 29 prescriptions of Bactrim many more multiple prescriptions of various antibioticsthe latest doxycycline and then finally Cefuroxime which is specific to MSSA infection the sister to MRSA. Over six Dermatologist visits multiple multiple primary care visit all of these since I had no insurance was not able to ever get to an infectious disease doctor which was recommended. Obtain health insurance in September 2019 and now multiple doctors finally to the infectious disease doctor where I was treated with the last two anabiotics for this awful facial lesion problem that is just like so many people have explained on this site. No February 16, 2020 in my research of MSSA lesions at approx midnight in tears once again the thought of Continuing lifein such pain And public embarrassment hadovercome need once again With the thought that this was not a problem that I was ever going to fix. 1KL somehow my finger hit a button in my searches and I end up on this thread all I see our pictures and people who have exactly what I have. I come to the Ozzy scientist friend at Southpoint I get my pen paper and frantically start writing notes could this be it!
I fit the profile of the candida description. February 17 at 11 AM I visit Walgreens and get the Lotrimin which is the closest that I could obtain That included clotrimazole I also bought LamisilJust in casewhich included the terbinafine. Off to the Vitamin store and purchased Candidase which showed the two ingredients of Cellulase and protease. I took two of the supplements immediately as well as applied the Lotrimin to my open lesions on my face and did the same prior to bed.February 18 I woke up for the first time without feeling like my chest was full,my face was not swollen, the lesions had shrunk and the white keritanplugs were not even visible anymore and infact the pain on the lesions had subsided by 3/4 of what it was the day before. As Directed I took two pills three times a day and put the Lotrimin on my lesions three times that day as well. February 19 less than 48 hours after starting the catheter treatments the swelling in my body has gone down so much that even one of my friends is falling off of my hand the lesion on my face is now about 80% healed which it has not been for over the last two months as it was a very large deep lesion.

I dont know how to express my appreciation to Aussiescientist for the over thousand hours for research that you have done but I will tell you you have saved one person in this world that was really losing their will to live with the pain and suffering an embarrassment of this. Your Recommendations for treatment and diagnosis of Candida was righton. My face and my body are better than they have been in 7 years with only 48 hours of Candida treatment. There are no words to thank the people for sharing all of the photos and pictures which I of course have of my own. I remember showing the infectious disease doctor the same pic of the Keratin plug on the end of my tweezers along with the blood that comes with it!! My life started again 48 hours ago and I just cannot believe it

To everyone on this link;

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!

I am so happy I have found this link! I have searched and searched for years to try and find out what these horrible sores are! I've been to doctors, they look at you like your crazy!

I'm 47, and have had these for the past 10years! I have been (and still have to) take antibiotics for re-occurring UTI's, bladder & kidney infections! I have always believed these may be linked to antibiotics! I get them on my face, cheeks, chin, nose! I avoid going out when they flare up so bad!

I started having migraines about 10 years ago, andI was also just diagnosed, Nov 2019, with Hashimoto Disease, and now taking medication for my Thyroid. So not sure if some of the symptoms (fatigue, headaches, head fog) are linked to these horrible sores as well?

I just truly appreciate all the information and pictures that havebeen posted!! I had been scrolling through pictures and pictures tonight (due to another bad flare up today) of sores and finally saw a picture which looked exactly like what I have! Then, to start reading the same symptoms, the never ending pulling of thewhite plugs, the bleeding, the horrible itching!

I can't wait to go out 1st thing tomorrow to get what has been reccomended!

And,An Especially huge Thank You to @Aussie Scientist for your research and input I finally feel like I can see the light at the end of a long dark tunnel!

I wanted to comment bc I've been dealing with this for 3 years. It will go away, but every 2-3 month's I'll still have a small flare up. It's Candida Yeast, that's taking over your body, causing our immune system to weakened an cause a Demodex Mite Infestation on our skin. You will notice when you pull out the white plugs, more will show up. As they continue to eat at the stores. Disgusting! I have ended up getting multiple Staph Infections from all this yuck. Clean eating, lots of water, a good probiotic & both Athlete Foot Spray & Jock Itch Spray I cover my body with during flare ups. I use Athlete Foot Cream in the sites & typically everything clears up within a week at the longest. Good Luck guys!

I've recentlysuffered with this condition for the last 4 months and no doctor no dermatologist could fix it they told me it was hopeless and just to leave it alone and it will go away they prescribed me antibiotics steroids and nothing worked only made it worse. It was then that my friend turned me on to oregano oil. It has to be oreganol p73 superstrenth bought from the health food store. It's two drops under the tongue three times a day to drops in a glass of water three times a day and about 15 drops in 100% organic virgin coconut oil or 100% organic virgin olive oil and rub that on your body twice a day after showers and once before bed. Almost immediately within 5 days everything was gone I continue to do the treatment just to ensure for health reasons but the oregano oil as antibiotic, antifungal, and antiviral, and antimicrobial it is a miracle miracle herb research it you will not be disappointed it is amazing it has so many other healing qualities besides the skin. I also now take turmeric which is 2000 times stronger than any antibiotic known to man and has the ability to not allow any foreign radical substance germ virus anything to build up an immunity to it and the only thing that has the ability to bypass into your brain stem and reverse diseases, cancers and also has the ability to repair organs, heart disease, heart failure, Alzheimer's, dementia, can reverse brain it does this by immediately put in a protective barrier aroundit does this by immediately putting a protective barrier around your liver not allowing any free radicals whatsoever to get into your bloodstream and go around your body and then tells them to die naturally and after they're dead it tells the cells to wake up and do their normal job all while it is healing and reversing injuries in your organ dust making them run perfect again resetting the body system so more less it has the ability to heal almost anything that you can think of...Do yourself a favor research this stuff it's natural healthy and absolutely no side effects at all.. I promise you you will not be disappointed with the results if you follow the regiment do what I said for about a week everything will be healed and you will feel so much better mentally physically and just be healthy all around.. good luck and God bless

Wow, it is very interesting theory.

1) Has chemo cream healed the lession totaly? How fast?

2) What's the title of chemo cream?

3) Any side effects or pain?

I have been battling these for the last 3.5 years. So far, after multiple complications, hospitalization after hospitalization. After a manydifferent biopsies, cultures, blood cultures, and every single test you can think off... the only thing that was diagnosed is MALASSEZIA FURFUR FOLLICULITIS.It all started after manycourses of antibiotics, topical steroid misuse/overuse; oralsteroids; severe prolonged stress; overworking; sleepless nights; grief; smoking; high sugar diet; etc.Perfect recipe for disaster. Just as everyone describes, it starts out as a pimple looking bumps, if yousqueeze, the top layer of skin comes off and leaves an erosion. By the next day it develops a crust, which comes off easily when washing the skin. Afterwards whats left is a round shallow ulcer/sore with raised edges, and white/fleshy plugs in the middle. When plugs are extracted, they bleed profusely for a bit, than stop suddenly. I also getpapercut like cracks here and there all over the body. Areas where my skin peels and flakeslike crazy. Itchy blistering rash. Fungal nail infection on the same nail for the last 3 years.Sometimes feels like a crawling sensation. Edema/Lymphedema. And much much more. I think I def have a systemic problem.

My husband and I are new to this forum, and we are beyond elatedtofinallyfind other people that are dealing with the same issue we are. I was honestly beginning to think we were on our own with this.

I guess the beginning is the best place to start so, ours starts 3 years ago. My husband had a short stay as a county guest for possession of marijuana. Although many states are now legal, we live in one that has resisted ANY changes to the laws which would allow fun of any kind.... But I digress....

So, while in county, my husband develops a bacterial skin infection that we discovered was caused by the unsanitary conditions around him. The facility itself had toxic, black mold and peeling paint that contained harmful ingredients. There were no available cleaning chemicals so properly disinfecting common areas wasn't done. That kind of conditions for a few people is asking for problems but when you cram a few hundred men into conditions like this, of course illnesses will happen.

Following his infection showing symptoms, my husband sought out medical assistance. The medical staff was absolutely incompetentand misdiagnosed him with scabies. They soon began to treat my husband for a condition he didn't have with a chemical so potent it requires isolation. I was later to learn that the cream he was slathered with resembles a pesticide and issupposedto be usedONE TIMEfor 14 hours and NOT AGAIN FOR 6 MONTHS!!So of course they applied it for 8 hours the first time and 3 days later for 14 hours. This completely stupid decision was the beginning of a new set of problems for us....

Thankfully, he was not a guest for long. When my husband got home, he had a new problem to deal with. He had these soresthat were really itchy all over and although he tried not to scratch, he did . He decided to pop them and see if it stopped the itchiness. The sores wouldbecome craters with 8-12 little white plugs in the center. It didn't take long to realize that they weren't itching now but had become really painful. So he picked each white plug out, which was not only painful but difficultto do. He soon discovered that using fingernail clippers and tweezers made it a little easier to get the little buggers out. It was soon after the last little plug came out that the sore stopped hurting completely. After a "gush" of blood that looked like WAY more than it was, the sore would soon began to heal.

My poor husband went for about a year withthese sores in different stages. He would get a few almost healed and 5 more started. He soon started feeling like a freakish kind of leper and we soon started avoiding anyone. He was so insecure and embarrassedby his skins appearance that he stopped going anywhere at all. I felt absolutely powerless and it was breaking my heart... SO SOMETHING HAD TO CHANGE RIGHT NOW!!!!

I took my husband to a doctor I had used on and off for years and she had "no idea what it was" but decided to google it. She did say he didn't have scabies AT ALLand that he had a bacterial skin infection. She prescribed the 1st of 3 different creams along with the 1st of 3 different antibiotics and a big o' dose of prednisone. This did NOTHING to help his sores at all, in fact he felt worse. THIS CAN'T REALLY BE HAPPENING TO MY HANDSOME HUSBAND AND NOBODY SEEMS TO HAVE A DAMN CLUE WHAT IT IS OR WHAT IS CAUSING IT??!!!! We were way past frustrated at this point and I am sick of feeling helpless to help the most amazing person in the world get better!!!

I have discovered that if you have a skin issue like this, it does not take long before the first of several stupid people decide its because of drugs! Not ANY drug, I was informed that my husband had this condition because we were on meth!!! I will say that I have never wanted to physically try and remove the "stupid" from a few former friends and family I discovered saying this crap like I did then. My husband was truly the most isolated and depressed I had ever seen him and these idiots showed compassion with lies and stupidity. Needless to say, we wereso very thankful to have discovered this article and forum with others like us...

In conclusion, I wanted to say that he will be usinghibiclense to sterilize followed with lamisil cream to treat. a new diet with little to no dairy and B3 supplements. hydrocortisone and lidicaine cream if/when needed.

I want to Thank ya'll for giving us hope and letting him know he is NOT the only one with these sores. Lonelinessis NOT a helpful emotion when a person is dealing with health issues. And finally, I want to find a way to get a doctor to look into this condition and finally make it a more known illness. I am sick of the stupid and ignorant people that assume skin issues mean meth or another drug is the cause. That kind of idiotic kind of thinking makes seeking treatment THAT much harder.

Take care everyone and I hope the treatments you each choose for your individual issues work and that better days are around the corner!!!!!!

Finally some comfort knowing that I am not insane or just a "stressed picker". I have been dealing with this for 1year and 1month. I have been to 4 different doctors. All 4 said that it was in my head and not to pick. My face, neck, back, and arms have all been effected. I have sores and scars. I am a 44 years old and I never had an acne problem. Not even when I was a teenager. I spent every day of the last year reading and searching the internet for an answer.

There are thousands of possibilities and it is quite overwhelming. I felt that the key to this was the white plugs. Once they are removed, my sores will heal. The sores itch like crazy and bleed until the white spots were removed.... Boom instant relief. I have to agree with this being fungal. I have searched parasites, bacteria, mold/fungus... I have checked into morgellons. I have pictures documenting my journey and at least 30,000 screenshots of my research online. Since I can't find a doctor to listen to me, I knew that I was on my own.

I know that I look like a methhead walking in public, but I have never tried meth or any other type of drug. I have offered to take a drug test for the doctors. It's absolutely ridiculous that no blood tests, skin scraping, nothing.... I have been completely dismissed as it being a "mental issue".

Each time I searched, I have been coming back to fungal. I have been taking a shot of apple cider vinegar daily for a week and I have noticed an improvement. I also shower daily using baking soda.

I am going to share some of the pictures I have taken.

I added the photo of my face without any sores to show how horrible this has been on my skin ... My face literally exploded with the sores April 2019.

I believe you are correct about it being fungal . Have they done a punch biopsy + culture for Malassezia aka Pityrosporum Folliculitis? It will not show up unless they do a specific culture for it. They culture it with olive oil, since it feeds on oils. I am almost 100% you™re dealing with that. Do you have a photo of how the spots start? I™m sorry you™re going through this. Believe me, I know what you™re going through and I feel your pain. My experience is very similar. If i had listened to the doctors, and not done my own research , I would have gotten much worse. I can send you lots of info on everything if you want... you will most likely require oral antifungals etc , for some time, and than maintenance so it doesn™t relapse. It™s a chronic condition that relapses often. As soon as you start the prescription oral anti-fungals though, you will feel some relief. Let me know how I can help . Much love ,

I have the same condition that I have been battling for almost 1 year. Four Dermatologists have evaluated me 3 say I am a œpicker, 1 says seborrheic dermatitis. I have only been prescribed antibiotics thus far.

I have noticed slight improvement with ketoconazole OTC shampoo (anti-fungal), acid peels, and oatmeal soap (for the irritation). Sweating, heat, and possibly alcohol consumption make it worse.
I think it maybe caused by a strain of HPV (either presenting differently in us or not yet discovered). These sores closely resemble warts (all warts are caused by HPV, it™s not strictly an STI).

One person mentioned improvement with aspirin applied directly to the wound and covered. This is the salicylic acid, same active ingredient in OTC wart treatment (which is not recommended on the face). I started using Compound W gel on an inconspicuous lesion near my hairline 4 days ago. Seems to be removing it as it slowly decreases in size. No more raised boarders! I am using oatmeal soap because the med is so strong it burns like the 7 circle of Hell.
This is not a recommendation to anyone to try. If I achieve complete success, I will share on the thread.
Good luck to everyone. I know how distressing this is.

Edited to say: I have had a negative biopsy (came back excoriation aka. picking) and skin scraping negative for fungus.

I have suffered with exactly the same condition that everyone has described for over 20 years. It was all over my body and has left scarring. I have been told it is because I am a picker or that it is acne! I knew I am not and it wasn't. One month ago I found this thread, and I want to thank everyone! I started using the anti-fungal topical creams and wash and honestly, for the first time in YEARS, my skin has largely cleared up! I have a couple of 'wounds' that still have these plugs, but they are seemingly getting better day by day. I called up my GP to inform him- he just responded that there was no such thing as fungal acne but it is because I pick that it is possible a fungus gets in! Nevermind. I know that the advice here has cleared up my skin massively! I am still working out what type of fungus it is so am using a mix of anti-fungals, morning and night (and started with steroid based ones to kick start process before swapping to standard anti-fungals). I hope that this continues to work! It would be life changing for me! If I do need to go on anti-fungal oral medication, can anyone advice which one is a good all rounder to take? are the tablets only available on prescription?

Unfortunately I am insure of how to post a photo, but it iswhat others describe, dry skin like scab over ulcer type wound that when the surface skin comes off a clear fleshy plug(s) is/are underneath, often imbedded in the skin in clusters, sometimes in a circle with one in the middle, can be pulled out with fingernails or tweezers, and sometimes attach and lift off with the surface skin.

hmmmmmmmm, so then we all have worms and those worms are all excreting various poisons and plaque type excretions in us all day long, there are billions of species of worms!!!!!!! billions, from spirochetes to snake like worms that can grow the full length of our intestinal tracts, they can completely inhabit our brains see toxoplasms and be shocked.

No no no no, demodex mites are simply a parasite feeding off worm shit, I have used everything on my face including keroseen, DMSO,

gum sprits, pine needle oil, all things that penetrate biofilm and everything works for a short period then later the white nodules and lesions repopulate, nopthing else makes sense besides a worm never being killed at all that we are only hitting the tail end excretion of a living worm that has embedded itself in our tissues and is most likely inches orfeet long and really hard to kill, they encase themselves in biofilm and are impervious to white blood cell attacks.

I have taken horse version ivermectin at 1000 pound horse dosage and ill tell you my legs have what seems like viens twitching the entire length of my leg from ankle to upper thigh, now it doesnt take a doctor to diagnose that, it is one big ass worm dying!!!!!!

100% of us have worms, some of us cannot co-exist and are in endless agonies as a result, some of us have amazing dna that has learned how to offset worm damage via excretions and feeding, very long ago in my youth i tried crystal meth 1 time only, the entire night i felt a worm wiggling around inside my cheek, it really freeked me out and was a sure as day not imagined, no doubt that worm was growing in me since my youth, most human and animal worms move extremely slowly, like they can take 10 hours to move 1/2 inch, but zap them with some crystal meth (i snorted it) and watch them go into high speed.

no no no, i am seeing a clear pattern these skin issues are worms!!!!!!! i am happy to share my 20 years of research with you and what has led me to this conclusion and it certainly explains why all doctors are seemingly totalamatuers on this topic. how does one get worms, well er ahh, kissing someone (mono) eating contaminated food (bascically every resteraunt ) kissing a pet!!!

breathing particles coughed or sneezed from infested people (worm larvae is microscopic and can float on air) drinking contaminated water and or having oral sex with contaminated people, so yes we all have worms deal with it.

Ruzbo....Thank you! I'm very willing to try your suggestion as well as others. How do you take the Ivermectin? I would only have access to the Ivermectin paste.

Hello, this acne is identical to what my mother and I have. No dermatologist knows how to treat it, or has a name for it. Have you received any information on this skin condition?

Hi All,

I have just seen a leading professor of dermatology who has informed me that I have chroniccomedogenic folliculitis. I have a very strongvitamin A gel (treclin gel) and aknemycin + to put on my face at night. Lymecyclinantibiotics for 3 months. In addition, multi-vitamins andvitamin D and iron daily. My skin is healing, and no new wounds what so ever! The anti-fungaldefinitely helped but didn't completely resolve it for me. Sodefinitely look into this if you are in the same boat! (the professor I saw was Professor Cerio from UCL and BMI hospitals. He's a world expert ondermatology). good luck everyone x

Been there, done that multiple times. Unfortunately, it has all came back 3-4 weeks after stopping a/b.

I'll let you all know if the combination of treatments prove to be effective after antibotics completed- he did say that the vitamin A gel might need to continue always, as its a problem with the pores and how oil is released- that the vitamin A will aid the pores in being able to release any bit up oil. Again, lets see- but am hopeful! So far skin is clearing/ with no new at all.

I have had same issue for past couple years. They go dormant but always seem to return. Mine always return to the exact same places. I've done creams, alcohol, peroxide, and anything else I get my hands on. I dont waste time with tweezers. I use a acne tool and rake them to get out plugs. The only think I have done differently on one place was take one of those small acne suckers to it after I remove plug to get anything else out. So far that is the only one to not return. Like many of you I have pics of them fresh but I lay them out to dry then take pics again.
