Hi (20M). I have been struggling with cystic acne for the past 5 years, but now there are much less breakouts thanks to differin. However I have many scars left behind from over the years.
Can I ask how bad the scarring is and what is the best way to treat it? Are these scars permanent already? Or is there something I can do to better heal it?
Currently I just switched to using tretinoin but I had been using differin the past year.
Hi man, look my topic hereTopic. For me your scars are much better than mine and i think that the most part of yours is hyperpigmentation that fade over time, or maybe you can try the laser. For the indentation like yours i red that tca cross can be helpful. Anyway consider that usually a scar (indentation) is forever, but these techniques can improve them, sometimes almost remove. I think that you have middle scars (not too small but neither severe) and i think you will be more lucky than me in the treatment. Good luck

Hi man thanks for the reply. I think the lighting in the photo doesn't really capture my texture that well because most of the red areas in my face are indented slightly as well, and some scars are quite severe. Do I need subcision for the severe ones?
Also have you gone for any form of treatment so far?
Hi man, sorry for the late answer.
In 1 month i am going to have my first subcision filling and i really hope that it will help.
In general i heard that indented scars have to be treated in 2 ways:
the first is to fill the collagen loss with fillers or fat (my doctor told me that he prefers fillers because you cannot say before how many of the fat injected remains in place)
the second is to improve the texture and the external layer of the skin with laser or peelings.
At the moment i only did laser 8 times but it didnt help with holes that are still visible in bad light.
It only helped with texture, in good light my scars are almost not visible
