Hi everyone,

I have my phenol peel scheduled for Dec 19, 20 of this week. Crazy that it's coming by around the corner now, so surreal... I've been waiting for it since I initially booked the procedure back in July. I'm wondering about how soon i'll be able to go back to work (for added context I have to wear a mask for work).. looking for opinions/insight for those who have had the peel... Do you think i'll be okay to be back to work by Jan 3? any input would be appreciated!!!

I had the peel in July 2021 and this is what I looked like roughly two weeks post-op for reference. Youll still be very red and your skin will look weird at the two week mark. Personally I would go back to work because I have no shame and dont care much lol its all about your comfort level. With a mask on people wont be able to tell much.. physically the pain is behind you at the 3-4 day mark IMO but the redness will linger for a good while and I just lived my life lol and applied sunscreen.

edit: I dont know what you do for work but if its a super customer facing role maybe 3 weeks is better.

@shei514 Ahh thank you!! that is very youhelpful. I was going to go ahead and schedule myself in but better to wait it out

I think it's still a bit hard for me to grasp the downtime til i'm truly in it lol

Unfortunately, my work is very customer facing....but at the same time, I am in need for some income after this expenditure lol $$$$$.. Oi..... the pain will be an interesting experience. will be counting down to the 3/4 day mark lol

Good luck on it it'll pass over time. I didn't work but my dermabrasion was months of fading red/pink. Hope you get a really good recovery/result. I hear you about the customer/social issue. It's very hard for sufferers no doubt about it.

I've been healing extremely quickly...! Will post a thread soon, when the mask is fully taken off today and post-oxygen facial (which is in about an hour)
