anybody? anyone at all ?i'm curious to find outwhen we'll see this being used for scarring.
It's already being used although not exactly widely and with disappointing results. When I first read this thread I got pretty excited but now, after having learned various things I believe there will never be a "stem cell treatment" that can significantly improve or get completely rid of (acne) scarring. What the Bulgarian doctor described here is basically the same as a filler only with added stem cells. And that does not get your skin back the way it was before acne scars came along contrary to what the Bulgarian doctor would have you believe. I bet other people would give you a different answer, though. But I gave you mine.
I would like to quote BRD word for word to get this clarified.
"I'd like you to think of mesenchymal stem cell injections as going a step (more like a leap) further than fillers. Not only do the stem cells have the ability to fill in the depression, but they also have the ability to secrete important growth factors that stimulate surrounding cells to behave a certain way. This contributes to some tissue remodelling, including scar tissue. Furthermore the mesenchymal stem cells can differentiate into a variety of cells that makeup our skin's internal structure, including fibroblasts that can for example make collagen. Stem cells also contribute to increased adipose tissue growth in the hypodermis and further accelerate angiogenesis (increased vascularity). All of this contributes to healthier, better nourished, thicker and indeed more beautiful skin."
in my opinion, he talks of getting to skin to effectively "look" like it did before acne as a "goal." I don't think he means it in the literal sense that it will reverse the damage like it never happened. A good example would be automotive body work. You can repair a fender to look like an accident never happened, but can you go back and "reverse" every single damage detail (internally) ? No.. but you can do it to some extent and work from there. As long as the final result is what you want... which is external visual improvement. As long as the internal repair methods are sound and long lasting, that's good enough for me.
My understanding is BRD has spoken of the method as a "repairing" solution, not a "reversing" solution.
Just stumbled accross this.
http://www.realself.com/question/Celution-...n-system#134153
I believe Dr. Ricardo Rodriguez might have in his possesion a Cytori Cellution machine and already using it on his patients. I will try to contact him next week for further details.
Actually, I believe the exact opposite. I was simply responding to a comment about BRD's procedure as simply a "filler with stem cells added." I believe it more than just a filler. BRD also mentioned you could choose to "add" the stem cells to fat tissue before injection or you could simply do away with the fat tissue and inject just stem cells. That comment alone differentiates it from the commonly practiced fat tissue injection.

Another Dr. In Los Angeles who might carry the machine.
Its been mentioned before, but i would like to reiterate. Dr. Nathan Newman
http://www.nathannewmanmd.com/viewarticle.php?i=145
"How is it different from fat injections?
Fat grafting injection results are dependant on the technique used. The technique used is a major factor in how much viable fat cells are transferred to the desired area. In the stem cell face sculpting procedure, I use a unique patent-pending process, which allows me to double or triple the number of stem cells that are going to be used to reposition the fat and to sculpt the face back to its naturally healthy and youthful appearance. This unique process generates better results, lasts longer and rejuvenates the facial structures as well as the skin over it. "
I will consult with him personally to find out more. I am in the Los Angeles area, so that won't be a problem.
For patients on this board who saw Dr. Khan..... Wishful thinker, Icaretohelp reported significant results with stem cell therapy. 50%+ improvement?
Faizal reported no improvement, but he did not have an acne related scar and it was in a cartilage area on his nose.
Ernesto reported 20% improvement. Keep in mind that Dr. Khan uses the Cellution machine to extract stem cells and inject on the same day. What BRD had believed to be a more effective method is to culture the stem cells ex vivo for at least 3 days to a week to get the highest concentration of stem cells. Then injected. I'm sure there is a correlation between concentration of stem cells and scar improvement percentage. We have yet to see BRD's suggested technique practiced. I believe this is a key factor in why some of experienced less than expected results (for the high cost).
This is all great but I want to see some real before and afters --If this works and there are people doing it then let's see some FUCKING RESULTS FOR CHRISSAKES!!! Why is this such a goddamn hard problem to solve.
Usually, before the ReCell procedure itself, the skin will be prepared with TCA.
ReCell is more a skin rejuvenation thing, than an actual working treatment for acne scars.
ReCell is probably capable of giving some improvement, but only in means of - let's say - the cosmetic appearance - a probably more "homogenized" pigmentation, probably boxcar scars will look more like rolling scars afterwards; pores finer. But no more - I believe.
@Rez77 I just read on gbl's member page, that her doctor is going to laser the area, before applying the ReCell treatment.

So first let me say I REALLY HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU. But did you read all the other stuff about Dr. Khan on this site? It sounds like he's a charlatan. Did he guarantee you any improvement or make outlandish claims? Can you get a refund if there is NO improvement? Please do follow up with us, because it will help other people either decide to use or shun Dr. Khan.
UH, I didn't get that until now, thanks Rez77. Now I see her comment on his previous treatment from a different perspective
the surgeon is trying to sell me on the stem cell treatment (A2500 and whats more the way he describes it doesnt sound like stem cells to me it sounds like he's talking about skin punch grafts) but i think he's panicking because he messed up and i dont trust his advice.
Doctors aren't the best businessmen.
Being a business owner myself, customer service and satisfaction should never be brushed off. Its inexpensive marketing, as repeats and referrals are the best forms of advertising a business can hope for. I agree that Dr. Khan made a mistake in not putting money where his mouth is for short term gains. I think that was very shortsighted move in regards to how he treated Faizal.
But to get a better understanding... plastic surgeons of his experience and status tend to be very profit motivated. They place high value in their time and they'd hate to see money in their hands slip away. To be fair, he did offer Faizal a year of free service. Although Faizal did not see results, the clinic still incurred some expenses. As a business owner, I would've liked the opportunity to further experiment in hopes of finding a solution. Perhaps something was misjudged. Its an ego thing as well.
So yes, Dr. Aamer Khan made a bad business decision, however, that does not mean he is not a skilled doctor who is at the fore-front of cutting-edge technology.

I was already wondering about how she found the way here, and why her pictures are labeled (i.e.: flattering lighting, average lighting, s.o.).
So - it could be a fabricated case...

eh what??? lol!!!! is this some secret society that i couldnt have found by googling 'scars'???
i labelled the photos as flattering/ not flattering to give a true picture of the scars, to show how it is in different lights, and so that when i take the 'after' photos, also in flattering/ non flattering lights, nobody can say that ive taken the 'before's' in bad light and the 'afters' in good light
what a joke to think i'm a plant! Especially as ive posted all the way through that i dont know if I trust what the surgeons telling me!!!
gotta laugh at haterzzzzzz......
HAHAHAHAHA, your are beyond stupid Mr Khan, opr whoever I am talking to.
So .... YOU labeled thew pictures........really...I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT. The way, the pictures are labeld, is exactly the way, some charlatan doctor like Mr Khna would.
Roller already pointed out, that your doctor is not Mr Khan (which I only believed, because Rez told so), so I already got that.
