It was the CO2 laser. I'd never heard of Fraxel till I found this website. I'm working my way through reading the Fraxel thread - all 279 pages of it. I'm thinking that's probably the treatment I'll go for

I still dont see much results only can see some whitening of the unscarred skin . Dont know if its count as improvement. I dont see dramatic results thats for sure. I hope i will see improvements in the coming months.
Ppl who have been treated by dr Khan seems to be pleased really happy for them.
Doctor said need to wait at least 6 months to see if after 6 months dont see improvement of the scars then do the second injection.
Every 10 day i need to dermaroll with the stem cell growth factor that the dr gave me.
And still the stem cells grow so slowly?
Now i can just wait.. sad.gif
Can this help with burn victims?
Maybe it will help a little at this point in time. But I think a significant change for burn victims made by stem cell treatments is still a thing of the future. How far off it is I don't know...
But I might be wrong. Keep researching, I'd say. 🙂
i wont say im totaly satisfied but thats probably more based on how much effort ive put in..if i just had this done by going in asking for it and then a week later going in..yes i would be..but i feel like ive done and spent too much ..my scars still remain but the indentations dont really create that shadow..but there is darkness in pigment of where the linear scars were..bascialy the problem with all this is 1 thing..our inability to create the same organized quality of collagen and structure as skin before trauma..its as simple as that..i do believe we can raise our scars to the level of normal skin..but the main problem is the quality.thats why ...now that i dont really have indentations at all..im looking to prp and growth factors and ECM's to change the quality of the collagen..
another question to BRD..Needling..how would you needle these scarred pores/irregularties..the depth and so forth..and how comprehsivly?.( this is for the prp+gf) and would it be better to do the prp first..and then needle..or do it before hand and then do the prp?
I did STEM cells and PRP injections with dermarolling
Do you think having a more ablative procedure before going to someone like dr.khan be better? I ask because I know and have spoken to a few people who have had co2 treatments and had the opposite effects. They were satisfied with the smoothness/texture that the treatment provided but the indentations were what remained.
times have changed since that quote..i think an ablative procedure before stem cells and 6 months after stem cells is an excellent idea.
btw dr khan is pretty good with the co2 laser..but beware..if you do fraxel repair ur in for 3 months recovery
he is going to get the CICU fractional laser which i like a lot..dr choi in vancouver uses this and it has the smallest and most uniform dot size which makes healing a blast (smaller dot size then repair etc)
I would say the stem cell treament offered by Dr Khan will only work for mild to light-medium scars only IMO. Serious scars need other treatment. Sorry to say.Would you mind posting or describing what you would consider mild to light medium scars.
I would say the photo of scars from the Chinese clinic that BRD posted at the beginning of this thread. the lighter ones, not the picture with the severe scarring.
There are more photos on this page, michael24. Just in case you haven't seen them yet.
Hey
Sorry but I have been working off my laptop and now I am at my home computer and I had a look at those photos again. I was wrong! : (
Those scars pretty deep, they didnt show up too well on my laptop.
Those are deep ice picks, which i never had. Mine were lighter to begin with. I thought those were light scars but they are not! They are deep ice picks.
As I said, I think this treatment will benefit people with lighter scars. Ice picks are a pain to treat as I have read and I dont think this treatment will do it.
Think scattered pore like scars. It will work for those. Think Cameron Diaz-type or Megan Fox scarring. Not Rick Martin scarring or Brad Pitt scarring.
I am four weeks out and the stem cells arent due to "kick in" before week six so I will let you know if there any changes.

What you're saying doesn't really jibe with the photos posted on the first page. Those are serious scars. Way more serious than any scarring that Brad Pitt has. And one of those photos show complete restoration.

Only the 2nd pic shows really serious scars. The other pics are still quite ok i think. Heh but i feel if stem cells only treat megan fox type then its better to just go for fraxel repair which can solve those scars and only cost half the amt too.
I honestly feel stem cells can give much more improvements compared to any of the current treatments. Then again, Heidi has undergone the treatment personally and is well-placed to pass judgment on the treatment unlike those of us who have not done it yet.
This is link I am talking about. IMO, these are deep ice picks, which i dont have. On my laptop I didnt see how severe these scars were. They looked like scattered pores. I am sorry I got that wrong.
All I am saying is my scars, except the deep one from the injection, are lighter than this. Most look like pores and they havent been "erased." THat is all I am saying. They all remain but they all look better!!! But not one has been erased and that is what we are after, right?
Now I dont want to bring bad news. No way. icaretohelp has had great success; however, I will add he had a lot more treatment than me before the stem cells including C02.
Khan recommened this to me but I was too scared to get a co2 laser. Perhaps, the laser /stem cell combo is the ticket as icaretohelp has proved!
Also, I am ten years older than icaretohelp. In addition, he is about four weeks ahead of me. My stem cells arent due to "kick-in" for another couple of weeks.
I think this will be my last post for quite some time as I dont want to appear to bring bad news. No way. We all need hope to get through this hell.
I think this a good procedure but it didnt erase my scars to date. That is what I am saying. This hasnt been my miracle cure, but who knows, it could be yours! Dont give up hope!
The improvement has been good and the risk was close to zero, so it was very worth it in my case.
I pray that all of you will get the skin you deserve.
Take care!
Over and out, Heidi!
