Just a quick update:
I had the stem cell treatment with Dr Khan last Saturday and I'm really pleased with the results. The swelling's almost completely gone now... it's early days but I can already see an improvement in my scars and the overall condition of my skin. I'm really excited because apparently things will only get better from now on 
If you're able to, I would strongly recommend going to see Dr Khan. The only thing I regret is not going sooner!
The treatment cost A6500. I guess mine were pretty shallow. I didn't have any icepicks... I think they're rolling or boxcar. Sorry I don't know whether it would work for deeper scars but I don't see why it wouldn't. I assume it would at least help them but I can't say for sure.

The syringes are huge and the action to get the fat seemed to be the same as when people get fat extracted by liposuction (breaking up the fat with a kind of digging action and then sucking it up). I think he said that he took 250ml of fat from me. Usually he takes it from the abdomen but I didn't have enough fat there so mine was taken from my hips and lower back area. The pain was bearable, although it was sore afterwards and I have enormous bruises. Definitely worth it though.

Really? Wow... Weren't you given the option of being sedated during this part of the procedure?

I think they do it to plump out the skin even more. The fat probably replaces what's been missing deeper down and the stem cells help repair the dermis nearer the top.

thats great news dostoyevsky! I saw dr Khan on friday and he is going to do two stem cell procedures on me, i,m gonna get the procedure you had for scars and damaged pores he is also taking a biopsy from behind my ear, cultivating those cells then spraying them onto my face to create a new layer to correct the hypo-pigmentation i have( full face) its going to cost 10,000 because this is two seperate treatments I have,nt got a date yet because I,ll have to raise the extra funding but hopefully I,ll get it in the next few weeks.

No way near 100% improvement, it's only been a week! My skin definitely still isn't perfect and I still have lots of red marks but with makeup it doesn't look as bad anymore. I think it will take around 2-3 months to notice the full effects and I may need fraxel in a few months. I'm not too keen on that though and don't know if I can afford it so I'm hoping the stem cells will be enough.
I really hope those of you that have had this treatment continues to post updates in this thread, even if you bring bad news. Bad news can be good news for us desperate people. At least we'll know it doesn't work 100% yet (or if it even works at all).

I wouldn't get too worried. People who have had PRP said it took time for them to see significant results as well and initially they were disappointed. And it's basically the same idea of stem cells remodeling the skin. But, the stem cells in fat are more potent than those in blood.

My experience with scars was intense. I had a "hole" in the middle of my face. Between my eyebrows, one on the side of my nose -- close to my tear duct. Once hole on my check. And sever smaller sacrs on my face. I tried everything. Even praying...and I am not religious.
This is what I did and this is what finally worked for me. I had my scars cut-out by a plastic surgeon--- this is after I tried lasers, peels, peptieds, hundreds (if not thousands of dollars) on everything -- the dermaroller, vitamins, different lasers, home microdermabrasions, the best products (La Mer) -- you name it. I was beyond depressed -- not vein - but yes the scars compromised my self confiedence. I sunk into my holes. Period.
I had my major scars cut out. Yes, it sucked -- stitches on my face for a few weeks then weirdd redness for a month. It just looked like e new scars. I was depressed. A few months later I started laser resurfacing...about 4 months later. I had my holes cut and and the lasers here The Manhattan Plastic Surgeon that I went to-- for those who are interested . They were good. The plastic surgeon does not do the lasers but a laser tech who happens to be a doctor from russia did my lasers. I alternated lasers with various peels every two weeks. It did not seem to be working. But I kept at it. While this was going on I used a home microdermabrasion about twice a week. I used a retinol treatment almost every night -- maybe 5 times a week, during the day I used something with peptides and a "rejenerating skin product" -- all of these products were cheap and I got them at the drug store.
About 10 months later I am literally scar free. It wasn't a miracle. It was drastic. I went through weird "skin phases" - at times I looked like a monster. It cost a lot of money. It worked. It changed my face. I even look almost ten years yonger - I am 35.
I think the point to this story, and I hope it helps a lot of people, is -- products and good nutrition didn't work for me. These were serious scars. I substituted "holes" for new scars then immediately treated the new scars - and yes, it took a long time. The key to getting rid of the new scars was immediate treatement with serious skin care -- lasers, dr grade peels, microdermabrasion, the right combination of products, and a lot of patience. It seriously worked and was seriously expensive. I used to contribute a lot of messages to this board. This board was my community and really psychological helped me. If you want your scars to go away you really have to help yourseld. In my opinion, scar revision is the only way to good. I wish you all good luck and perfectly clear and smooth skin!

hey erika great to hear that... I was just wondering.. after your excisions... what kind of lasers did you use for the resurfacing? I am doing something similar as well, but i have a lot of scars. Any info would be apprecieted. thanks!

As usual, the article is talking about using stem cells for anti-aging. I wish there were more doctors who would focus on acne scar repair. Anyway, the celeution machine, which is what a lot of these doctors are using to extract the stem cells, is still not available in the U.S. I guess he is using it in his office in Italy.
