icaretohelp (or anyone who knows)--would you mind posting how much u are paying for the stem cell treatment. It's pretty expensive to call dr. Khan from the US.

Probably a stupid question, but what is "prp"? Yes, I've read the whole thread, still can't seem to figure it out.

I am still here...

I haven't left you even for one day. What I have been doing is following how this thread progresses. To clarify what I mean, first think about what I discussed in the very first page of this thread. The point was to provide you with a critical mass of information that would then cause a psychological chain reaction amongst you all. Indeed, I started this topic and organized my experiments in order to let you see that there are innovative alternatives to traditional methods of scar revision. I also wanted you to see for yourselves that there are doctors out there/here who do care about your condition and are not after your savings bank account. Don't forget that apart from all the fakery and lies coming forth from the mouths of derms and/or plastic surgeons who have their eyes solely focused on their bottom lines, there are also plenty of doctors who want nothing less than to make your dreams come true. There are even those such as myself who have scarring like yourselves. Above all I wanted to get you, the patient/sufferer/fighter, to go out there and spread the word amongst your peers and your physicians who are, more often than not, less informed about cutting edge bio-tech developments than you could be should you choose to educate yourselves from the vast array of medical journals (and/or other related academic ressources regarding experimental biology, biochemistry, etc...) that are freely available on the net.

I must say that I am delighted that some people here have gone out of their way to inform themselves about this topic and likewise support this thread with their positive attitudes/comments. On the other hand, some other people have disappointed me with their uninformed, saliently incorrect and indeed negative comments. At least one person directly insulted me, and another made me laugh by stating that stem cells injected into the skin would grow teeth within the site of transplantation. I think he/she has the potential to become a comedian, a successful one at that.

Anyway I have not replied for a few months, because I felt that the only way to get you to think independently, do your own research and communicate the information herein with your local medical professionals, was to temporarily disconnect our lines of communication. The less dependent you are on me for anything related to this type of acne scar treatment, the less apt you will be to act in a passive manner. In other words I want you to become aggressive in your pursuit of self actualization, the first step of which is to feel good about who you are. Obviously fixing your acne scarred skin is not a prerequisite for you to accomplish your life dreams, but it sure as hell can help you along the way to your desired "destination"...

At this moment of time I reminded of a classic piece of literature that contains within its verses a valuable piece of philosophical wealth that may just be right for you. Some of the people here may have read Robert Frost's poem, The Road not Taken. If you are not one of them, I suggest you do so. Once you've read it you will come to know how it applies to your life and your struggles. Thus I say, you are walking the road "less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."

With this experience (of misery, of pain, of rejection, of self doubt, of panic attacks, of hopelessness, of cries for help and prayers for mercy and even in extreme cases thoughts of suicide) under your belt, there is one final task to accomplish and that is to turn the road less traveled by into a shortcut to joy, to enlightenment and empathy for your fellow human beings. For you see, if not for all the shit you've had to take, how sensitive would you be to the cries of others? How prone would you be to understand the suffering, not just of those who share your condition, but of all the people in this world who are enslaved by a myriad of conditions/diseases/circumstances that afflict humanity on individual and sometimes even collective levels. When you win this battle, the bumpy road that took you to the finish line will not be a memory of torture, but one of sublime power for you will come to realize that it taught you to be a real human being.

Keep up the good work and plant the changes today that you want to see blossom tomorrow!

You have the same agonizing issue as we all do on this board. Plus this site is very addicting. Nice to hear from you. Katie

BRD

I read online and the website says that

"patients can have fat cells removed from their abdomens using a needle and local anesthetic. Two weeks later, after doctors have grown a crop of stem cells from the collected fat cells, patients return to have doctors inject the stem cells into their faces in a series of shots that plump out skin, erase wrinkles."

If we don't use blood , is it okay to substitte using fat cells ? Will it achieve the same results? Appreciate your advise.

Thanks in advance.

Which website are you referring to?

Using Platelet Rich Plasma will assist the stem cells to function more efficiently than if PRP was not used.

Hi BRD,

I tried to send you a PM regarding a query I have outside this topic but you inbox is full.

Is there any way of sending it to you? Do you have an email that you could PM that I could send to you?

Thanks

That was an interesting site. Strange how it's now no longer viewable, though..

That was a link to their e-mail adress. I thought it was [email protected] but I'm not sure.

Anyway, it's nice to know that BRD still keeps an eye on this thread. I'll ask my derm what he knows about stem cell therapies for scars the next time I see him.

I just saw a documentary on National geographic about stem cells. I looked around on the internet and surprise, surprise; it's on Google video! lol Here it is:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=25...28582&hl=en

I though it was interesting. You see, among other things, people who went to Bangkok and to China to get treatments (not for scars, btw) and for most of them it worked out to a degree. I think it's a documentary from 2006 or 2007.

These threads get bogged down with everyone asking the same inane questions over and over again. Stop being lazy and do some research yourself-- just like everyone else who managed to get through the (gasp) twenty-four whole pages of this thread. Or is your time just more important than everyone else's?

My previous comment wasnt just directed at you btw.
