Topical Vitamin A?

Well mine arrived today (one week after I ordered it and Im in the UK). A little bit miffed as to why the cheapest shipping to the UK was $18 when the actual shipping on the package was $4.

I applied it for the first time, I only used 5 drops. I feel I would need to use about 10 next time to cover my face better. You can certainly smell the clove oil can't you? I've just eaten breakfast and it's kind of turning my stomach.

It didn't make my face look oily when it went on, I think because 5 drops didn't stretch very far and my skin is probably quite dry.

Anyways, fingers crossed...

I also nnoticed i paid 18US dollars for mine to be shipped, when it was only $4 :S! Harsh eh, they obviously dont like us Brits.

I put it on in sections, say 1.5 blobs on my nose, 3 or 4 on my forehead, a couple on each cheek and 1 on my chin.

Week 5 update: oil seems to be greatly reduced..however, i still get a few spots. This could be to do with sun exposure and it was very hot this week (my skin is worst during the summer). I'm now using BP at night (only on my T-zone), and vit A in the morning too. Blackheads on my nose are still there, though they seem smaller.

Still have a fair bit of Vit A left in first bottle. Should last me till week 8 I think! Yes, and $18 postage seemed way too high! But for completely clear skin, I'd pay far more than that.

Keep updating folks :-)

Sandman- What week are you on? I'm using BP again too. Since I started using Vit A, the times that my skin has looked its best is when I use both. I just hate the redness, which is why I stopped BP in the first place.

I think this is the best thing I ever done. If I hadn't gone through the purging period from accutane before, I probably wouldn't have survived this one, but I'm glad I did. I think this must be the secret movie stars are using, because it is smoothing everything out. I never thought I'd be normal, too. But I think u can get perfect a face by letting it keep digging out the bumps and being brave through the breakouts that occurs in this process.

Has anyone talked about this to their doctor or something? I don't like that the only information I know about this stuff comes from the seller's site.

I plan on asking my derm about topical vitamin A on my appt on Friday. What's weird is that he suggested megadosing vitamin A pills during my last appt. Isn't that bad?

some of these derms are just plain stupid...youre better off treating yourself these days...

theyll say or do anything to make you keep coming back to them..they dont give a damn about clearing your skin.

I've been using this since July 3rd, and the first week seemed like my face was clearing up, then the 2nd week came and my face was a mess, I literally wanted to stop using this thing, but i'm glad i kept using it cause like anyon said before, this thing is smoothing out my skin and making my cheeks less red. i'm really amazed, i hope my skin continues to get better.

4th week of use: No obvious reduction in oil or change at all, one or two spots that were like bumps before seem to have gone, other than that nothing sad.gif!

I am also currently on this product for about two weeks. I can SWEAR that this thing really SMOOTHES THE SKIN but the oil output of my skin is still the same. There is also a slight reduction in blackheads. I will post more results here. Keep posting guys.

P.S.

Just to avoid some high expectations and false hopes on this product. Let me remind you that the effect of this product on the skin is exactly the same as Tretinoin or Retinoic Acid the main advantage of this product is it does not cause redness and peeling skin.

Well I've been using it for several days, today Im starting to break out I think, lots of big painful bumps forming, boo sad.gif

I am wearing it all the time, applying it at night and morning. I don't find it looks oily on my skin, I find it hard to cover my face with 10 drops because I think my skin is very dry, it's made me realise this.

Yesterday when I put my make up on over it my skin felt nice and soft under my fingers (well the few areas not plagued with acne currently).

Oil production may have been improved slightly, certainly not made worse.

It smells horrible but I like how it feels on my skin.

We shall see, Im just dreading my skin getting worse, my skin is already at the worse its ever been in my life.

The thing that makes changes to the skin and also normalizes sebum production is RETINOIC ACID ( Retin-A ) not Retinol or Retinyl Palmitate ( Vitamincure Product ). When Retinyl Palmitate is applied on the skin, the enzymes below the skin converts it to RETINOIC ACID which is just Retin-A. Since the conversion of Retinyl Palmitate to Retinoic Acid is very inefficient ( only a small amount of retinyl palmitate is converted to retinoic acid ) , there has to be a very high amount of Retinyl Palmitate on the top of the skin. So a 0.1% Retinoic Acid is equivalent to 5% Retinyl Palmitate because it still needs to be converted by the skin. When you put pure Retinoic Acid on the skin, the skin gets irritated and peels but when you put Retinyl Palmitate the skin does not have an adverse reaction. So like i said Retinyl Palmitate is just a milder form of Retin-A.

second day of topical vit A.... no noticeable improvement, even though it would be hard to tell with all this oily vitamin A on my skin anyway. I apply 2 drops to my nose, 2 to my forehead and 2 to each of my cheeks, is this enough? i leave it on over night, then wash it off in the morning, apply again, leave on for about 10min then wash it off again and leave for work. Is my regimen ok?

oh shucks....so you mean to tell me all im doing is taking a milder retina a? when the real retina a did absoulutely nothing for my skin?

btw, how do you know all this stuff?  shock.gif  jeez i thought i knew alot about acne treatments!
