Thats interesting Ethenol..is there a way to make it into a gel form?? If it was less greasy, I could use it night and day :-)

Pooratbest - did you only buy the single bottle? I bought two, to save on postage..I thought I might as well. I reckon the bottle will last me 5/6 weeks, and once this is done, i'll try the other. Will keep posting my results! Unless I find a better alternative to it..

OTOH, I think there's some evidence of cancer promotion..  eusa_doh.gif  IRC It doesn't cause it, but it promotes it.

got a few questions....maybe some of you can help (ahem, Ehtanol, or should i say Dr. Ethanol)

1.will this vitamin a slow down healing of the skin, like accutane? should i avoid putting this on scratches on my face?

2. how do you properly remove the vitamin a off your face? because when i wash this stuff off, sometimes i ingest a little water.....i dont want any of this stuff to get in my system, even a small percentage.... would it better just to wipe as much as a can off with a towel first, then wash off?

3.I have alot of broken skin on my face(im a very bad picker sad.gif) is it possible for the vitamin a to get into my bloodstream through the broken skin? i dont want vitamin a anywhere near my liver!

Hi guys,

I haven't written cause I was in Asia for over a month (not that they don't have internet, just busy) I just want to say it's all good. No blackheads, not one pimple anywhere, not even on my nose. I don't have any mirror aversion anymore and I've been going out a lot more lately. For those who say it doesn't stop the oil that's bull, at least for me. It used take take me a 45 minutes to squeeze out the dried oil and to wash my face. Now it takes five minutes, and I try to squeeze but nothing comes out, not even from my nose, not that I miss that activity much. These days there is only a little shine left on my nose if I don't wipe it with a towel the whole day. When I started, I was a greaseball, constantly wiping my face and it was so embarrassing at work running to bathroom all the time. Can't say the oil shut off completely from day one, it was more gradual, but I did definitely notice a difference after the first day I put it on.

Just for the record: I wash my face twice a day with cephasil (sp?) put the Skin Sol'n on my face and neck at night (~30 drops) and put about five drops on my nose and cheeks in the morning, eat breakfast and take a shower... I don't use any other medication or special soap.

Good luck all

according to studies, retinoic acid accelerates the cell division process and formation of new cells which means that it would accelerate the healing process. imho a cell that constantly divides is stressed out so i would rather use topical retinly palmitata once every other day to give the cells some rest.

when you wash retinyl palmitate ( vc labs ) with water and you sort of ingest the water. there is no danger in ingesting the vitamin a from the water because vitamin a is oil soluble and it does not get dissolved in the washing water. you might be able to ingest vitamin a from washing water if you used topical retinyl acetate ( hard to find but penetrates the skin more easily ).

vitamin a in the form of retinyl palmitate that gets in the blood stream will not be transported by the blood because it needs to be converted into the alcohol form of vitamin a which is retinol. The skin and blood vessels does not have the necessary enzyme to convert retinyl palmitate ( vc labs ) into retinol which is the blood transportable form of vitamin A.

you can also use Topical Beta-Carotene which is just the same but is more readily available in local stores and works the same way as retinyl palmitate.

well its been approxiamately 2 weeks as of today and all this shit does is break me out!

on my days off i go into hermit mode and leave it on all day....it seems as all these acne medications make you a hermit because most of them have you avoid sunlight and look ridiculous on your face....so i have no choice but to stay inside!

i am going to listen to the advice of wally36 and others and stick it out....im kinda glad im not seeing anyone right now, my skin looks terrible!!!! i mean from top to bottom it is broken out..

but there is a bright side! the acne itself is starting to dry itself out!!

just like when i was on accutane!

i love to see those bumps dry out! DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! evil.gifevil.gifevil.gifevil.gifevil.gifevil.gifevil.gifevil.gifevil.gifevil.gifevil.gifevil.gifevil.gif

its gotta get better, it just has to! eusa_pray.gif

My TOPICAL BETA-CAROTENE is doing fine and is just the same as vc labs and it is way cheaper also smile.gif

Topical retinyl palmitate like vc labs seems to cause breakout if you use it everyday. I have managed to reduce the breakout cycle by using it once every

other day. i believe the breakout is possibly caused by the oil base of the retinyl palmitate which is comedolytic eventhough they claim that it is not comedolytic.

Oil production is still the same, no reduction whatsoever. i've been about 3 or 4 weeks now on retinyl palmitate and also on topical beta carotene.

When i am out of retinyl palmitate i will be using 100% TOPICAL BETA CAROTENE

so that i can save more cash and shipping charges.

I am always here to help man. i always realize how hard it is to live life with this oily skin and acne. acne has damaged my self-confidence and had made me lost some opportunities in life. courting a girl has never been easy if you have these oil and shit all over your face.i know most of you feel this way and we always hope that there is something out there that could get over our problems.

I think benzoyl peroxide is still needed to control the breakout. It is 1:47 pm now here in philippines i will be buying Panoxyl Gel 2.5% BP this afternoon.

I think that using Benzoyl Peroxide and Vitamin A at the same time is counterproductive and they will surely kill each other because Benzoyl Peroxide kills bacteria by producing oxygen in the skin and vitamin A is an antioxidant so it is against the oxygen. Take note that if you apply BP Gel and Vitamin A at the same time, the oxygen generated by the BP Gel to kill those peskey P. Acnes bacterias will be absorbed by the vitamin A and thus the BP will never be able to kill bacteria.

I think that there should be a 4 hour gap between the application of the BP Gel and the application of topical Retinyl Palmitate so that they won't kill each other.

Has anyone simply given up on this yet? I meen so far it appears to have 100% success rate (so long as enough time is given)?
