my personal opinion is that the two are not related. i am not on any special diet or anything.. but then again, i don't gouge myself with candy and sweet stuff all the time. i eat pretty normally and don't go overboard with super sugary stuff. whether that has anything to do with acne, i don't think so. but that is merely my personal opinion. as with everything that supposedly causes/doesn't cause acne, it's purely speculation. i wonder why nobody has yet to do some controlled scientific studies to see if there is any correlation with certain foods or situations and acne.
I'm not botchla but, my opinion is that food does not cause acne. Now, you may be allergic to something(peanuts, etc.) and that could cause you to breakout, but as far as food in general, I don't think so. I do believe you are what you eat, as far as general health, and I do think water helps your skin all around, but so many people eat crap all the time and they have no skin problems what so ever. I think a healthy diet helps your whole body because your internal organs(colon, etc.) can function better without being clogged by fatty foods, but I believe the effect on your acne is minimal.
I am 56 years old and still have my face breaking out. Also have 2 teenagers with breakouts. I am going straight to Walmart tomorrow and purchasing both clean and clear products. We have tried 3 kits advertised on TV and results are not good. Looking forward to trying your regimen.
Thanks for your info.
I love this regimen! Thank you so much for sharing!!!!
I have been using it for 1 week. No dryness, no irritation at all. I was on the acne cure and the glycolic, while it didn't burn, seems to have been the cause of my continued breakouts. Plus the ance cure was costing me about $60.00 a month in products. OUCH
This regimen is awesome! And at most will cost me $10.00 a month! (+moisturizer, but that's my choice!) I have had one "purging" bump. Too funny! Right on the end of my nose! I look like Rudolph. It's red and a tad swollen, but has no visible head or clogged pore. But hey, all in all, I am not complaining! And I know the red nose will be gone in a day or two.
Again, thanks for sharing!
As of today I've been using the C&C routine for about 12 days. I know it's early, but so far the acne on my cheeks has decreased, some red marks have improved. My forehead has continued breaking out since I started but nothing bad, just annoying, small quick zits. I think my forehead will turn around soon. I've experienced minimal drying and flaking. This is one of the few regimens I've tried that makes my skin look better AFTER washing, other products would increase the redness of the spots after washing, but mine look lighter now. I really like these cleansers and will continue, and hopefully the improvement will too.
Actually, my skin is annoyingly sensitive. If someone were to touch me hard anywhere on my body, that spot would turn red. This really makes acne cases way worse. I remember seeing people who had about the same amount of breakouts as me, but they didn't compare at all because each bump of mine was gleaming red from sensitivity. I wasn't discouraged by Botchla's regimen... but, I had never tried any other 'regimens' either. I had been on minocyclin, and even that doesn't prevent everything. It allowed all the dreadful red areas to clear up though. And my red 'spots' were more like red 'continents'. My entire mouth area was red from sensitivity and old scars. Anyways, better news. It took me about a month to get into the best affects of Botchla's thing here. I had a lot of underlying clogged pores (the kind you can see when you stretch your skin or make a face that draws your skin tight). And I guess some of those had to clear up. There was everything that has been described...id est: the breakouts after a week (and even two weeks for me).. and the nice feeling skin all the time. I guess my main point here is for the sensitive skin people to stick with it for a month and if all goes horribly, you can decide from there. I'm happy I found these products. Now the only problem is getting them in the store. I'm going to stockpile a wee bit. ({|=
I needed to add something. I wanted to let the sensitives out there know that I did have dry skin for about 2 weeks... and I moisturized with the C&C shine-free stuff... just don't use it in excess. If you've got that kind of dry skin that only happens after you've smiled or streched the surface (as in, not monster flakes or anything)...then, you don't need a whole lot of any kind of moisturizer. Now, there is no dry skin. I think the main thing was my skin getting used to the products. No dry skin, still using twice a day. And, I also knew the day my skin had finally gotten used to the product. That is when the new breakouts stopped, and the dry skin ended. It was a double good thing. Anyway, I think just about everyone can adapt to the product if they give it some time... then your only worry will be......the stupid red marks of course ({|=
Ok, here's the deal. I' m a 16 year old guy with bad acne. I always have a couple pimples on my forehead and pimples ALL OVER my cheeks. It fuc#kin sucks but hey wtvr. I've tried a bunch of stuff and nothing really works ( proactiv, erythromycin, retin-a). I just got prescribe tetracycline 1 gram a day and i just picked up these day C@C products cuz of all the great results ppl have been getting. So i;m trying it all and hopefully this will work with the tetra so i'm going to post my progress on this thread. Thanks alot for Botchla for telling us. I just hope this acne will end cuz i;m an athletic guy and have always been funny and shit but my confidence is so down. Girls that used to like me don't really talk to me any more cuz my acne has got so bad. No cysts and scarring, but pimples all over my face. Newayz i;m excited to start this regimen and i;ll be on this thread to keep u posted.
Peace
so i have been using this regimen for only a few days... but i thought i'd post in case anyone has a similar skin type as me or is in a similar situation and is hesitant in trying this out
background information on me: female teenager who has struggled with moderate acne for about 5 years. in middle school it was noticeable enough that kids who weren't my friends would make rude remarks, and kids who were my friends would make simple observations that hurt my feelings nonetheless. i tried a lot of neutrogena/clean and clear products for a while. then proactiv worked for a bit for 7-9 grade but i still needed makeup to hide it (on a good day). then in 10 grade i went to the derm, and have tried tetracycline, benzaclin, differin gel, clindamycin, and minocycline. i gave up and went on dan's regimen at the end of aug of this year
i pretty much have industrial strength skin, so i have experienced zero irritation (as with dan's regiment). just a tiny bit of dryness. i have been using dan's regimen for almost 3 months and i am really happy with the results. however, i'd still have about 1-3 active pimples on my face any given moment (more if i am on my period), a lot of blackheads, several dark spots from old acne, and my skin would feel kind of rought (even with the eucerin renewal the bp clumped a bit)
within not even 2 days of this regimen, i am 100% clear. i think it's too early to tell about the status of my blackheads.
i use neutrogena OTS for the stubborn zits, and they have disappeared virtuall overnight. for moisturizer, i am using fruit of the earth vitamin e cream. i have oily skin so i was afraid it would make me look like a greaseball, but it hasn't at all. my skin feels baby soft, and apparently vitamin e and the other ingredients in there (aloe vera, sunflower seed oil) will help repair the dark spots. and even if it doesn't, the texture of my skin is just so soft i'll stick with it for a while.
i'll be sure to update about my progress on this regimen. thanks botchla
hey, good news .. that's what i like to hear. i will just remind you all of some points about this regimen.
although you'll start clearing up pretty quick, it takes about a good 4 weeks on this to be completely clear. which still isn't bad at all i don't think. it goes by really fast.
the blackheads are the last to go i can tell you that. i used to always have blackheads on my nose (you all know those). i could not get rid of those damn things no matter what. also i had a lot of those tiny skin colored bumps on my forehead and temples before starting this. i think they're called closed whiteheads? anyways. it takes a while for those to go away, but they slowly phase out.
i will say the blackheads should be gone in 4 weeks. the longer you use the products, the less and less blackheads even have a chance to form, and over time your skin becomes much better.
so that's my main point, while you may see decent results at first, the longer you stick with it, the better it will get.. cause it takes a while for all that crap to flush out of your skin. especially the stuff that's deep in the pores. you pretty much have to wait for your skin to shed those out. but once they're gone, they don't return thankfully.
only thing about this regimen is that it doesn't do a whole lot for existing marks. it doesn't make them bright red like other regimens sometimes do, but it doesn't heal them up super fast. those you just have to let heal in time.
so while it may take a good month or two to get the full results, once you get those good results, your skin stays good. and also the longer you stay on it the more effective it seems to be at fighting new breakouts (if you are even still getting some).
hope those new to this regimen have great success. please keep us posted.
I'm glad many people are having good results.
I stopped using the regimen a few days ago. It was making my forehead break out in many tiny whiteheads. I haven't broke out on my forehead like that in a very long time.
My skin responds well to BP. I learned that from Dan's regimen, so I think I'll still use the C&C 10% BP.
I think perhaps my skin doesn't like the SA.
Maybe the regimen does work for me and I just need to give it more time (I was on it for a week), but Thanksgiving is coming up and I don't want to have a lot of whiteheads on my forehead for the big family get-together we're having.
My skin is usually 93-97% clear, I'm just trying to get rid of the tiny 3-7% and the occasional bigger pimple. BP might just be enough for me. I wasn't always 97% clear, it's gotten better as I've got older. And, surprisingly, the less I care about how I look, my skin usually starts to be it's clearest. Then when I get excited about how clear it is and pay attention to it, I could break out. LoL!
EDIT: I forgot to mention, I think I'll still use the SA on my nose. I think it will help get rid of those nose-blackheads. So at least the SA is good for something for me!
Best wishes everyone!
haha yeah i noticed that phenomenon too. just when you notice that your skin is looking great, it will break out. murphy's law.
of course not on the Botchla Regimen, but in the past.
by the way. the Botchla Regimen is now copyrighted. so any of you using the Botchla Regimen will now have to pay me royalties for using it. you will recieve statements in the mail soon. g'day.
I thought I would share my experiences on this regimen so far. The first 10 days or so were pretty bad. It was among the worst I've broken out in a while. However, I don't want to jinx anything, but I've just finished my second week, and things seem really good! I haven't gotten any real breakouts; just the odd little pimple here and there, but they fade quickly. Plus, the exfoliator gives your skin a great texture. I'm probably about 85-90% clear now!
My advice would be to stick with it past the initial breakout, like Botchla said. It takes time for pimples to form so don't assume that it isn't working if you don't see results in a week or so.
And Botchla, thank you SO much for sharing this regimen. It's so simple and inexpensive...it makes me feel like an idiot for spending hundreds on useless prescription meds for so many years!
Good luck everyone!
hey botchla, I can definitely appreciate your humor.. and u know what, I think the people at clear & clear should be paying u royalties!
Troopa: during the first week on this regimen, my cheeks were breaking out and it was dreadful because I never really had a problem in that area.
After about 8 or 9 days the situation reversed and I could see an astounding improvement all over my face.
Anyway, everyone is different but I just want to give u my perspective..
Here to post my progess. I've been on these products for over a month now and they're awesome. This regimen has reduced my blackhead and closed comedones count to about half; things I hated while on dan's regimen (for over 2 years). The first couple weeks, i got little whiteheads but after 2weeks, these stopped. Now I'm just waiting for all the blackheads to disappear. Thanks botchla!
been on this for three weeks now (nov 3) ..... first two weeks i broke out REALLY bad... it wasn't white heads.. they were pink bumps that turned purple/dark after a while.. i think they are called papules. or was it cystic acne? i'm not sure. anyway... i just finished my third week (nov 25) and my face is smooth and bump-free... still get a few around the cheeks... thanks blotcha!
Hi Botchla
I just want to say thank you very much. I have followed your advise and start using the C&C blackhead clearing scrub and the C&C continuous control acne cleanser. I have on your regiment for about 1 month now and it is working out really great for my skin. I am almost 90% clear and my face does not look this good in years. I have stopped using the Neutrogena stuff (I agreed with you it is crap, I used it for years and it did nothing for my face, except alot of big red pimples on it.).
For about one week, I have been using 10% Mandelic Acid on my face once a day and I have noticed it help clear out the remain blackheads.
Hopefully I will have a clear face by the end of the year, but I will take what I have now and be very happy.
Thank you very much Botchla
