heh.. the reason is cause it's easy to make that claim. say i make ABC shitty product. i find 1 dermatologist in the country that recommends my product.
"it's dermatologist recommended!"
see what i mean? hehe. doesn't matter that the other 2 million derms think it's crap, i can still make the claim. not to say that doctors don't recommend neutrogena products, but i notice a lot of you agree with me that they're pretty ineffective. in fact, i was a die hard neutrogena product user before i found this. i just thought all products would work the same as those.. phew. never again will i go to "the neut". haha..
and i will say you're welcome to those who have thanked me for posting the regimen. the fact that it's helping so many people is thanks enough.
I have been on the regimen for like 10 days, and while I am getting less pimples, my face is hella red...I think it is from the neutrogena BP but I don't know...what would ha ppen if I just used the C&C blackhead clearing scrub? And if I used it just once a day? Would I still get results?
For the ladies: I generally get huge hormonal cysts on my jawline during my period...not this month! I got 2 very tiny little bumps...I could feel them but not see them...even took me a while to make the connection that if I had not been using this regimen I would be looking at two very nasty and long lasting cysts. The bumps went away in about 24 hours.
Gotta love this!

Ditto. I always get several cysts on my jawline right before my period and C&C definitely takes care of those
ok...maybe I did something wrong...but the C&C scrub and BP wash just didn't do the trick for me. I tried it for a week, but all of a sudden I was getting tiny bumps all over my forehead and 2 huge pimples on each cheek. I'm so bummed I think the products just didn't do it at getting my foundation off and I am paying the price for it now. I'm so lost. I did the acne cure program for 6 weeks and it never cured me and now I'm thinking of going back to the proactiv. I need to find another regimine
in your other post you mentioned you also started using a AHA product.
AHA is evil stuff. that is a sure fire way for me to break out within days. every time i use AHA it ruins my face. that could be the culprit. but even if it's not i think if you stuck with it for a couple more weeks you would see improvement. as i've read in this thread, most people that actually had an original breakout, it went away in a week or two and then they started getting much better.
if you ask me, i say scrap the AHA.. it's not necessary with this regimen, and use the BP wash 1 time a day, the SA wash 2 times. do it consistently for 3-4 weeks and i think your skin will be much better. but, that is just my opinion.. the choice is yours what you want to do..
My experience with C&C so far:
During the first week I noticed a lot of improvement in the overall look of my complexion (it seemed brighter), but was still getting a small pimple or two every other day or so (I was using both products twice a day at that time)
At the end of week two experienced a 4 or 5 pimple breakout which cleared in a few days (at this point I switched to using only SA a.m. and both p.m. since it was drying me out too much).
By the end of week three, blackheads were still clearing, but still getting occasional pimples.
At the end of week four, still noticing blackhead improvement, but wasn't consistently keeping me clear of pimples so I decided to modify my routine slightly.
I now use SA a.m. and afterwards apply a light amount of Proactiv repairing lotion (2.5% BP) then use both washes in the evening (no Proactive). I highly recommend the proactiv BP because it absorbs well into your skin, is not pasty like a lot of the OTC stuff, and it also has a nice fragrance to it. It's also the only proactiv product that will actually last the two months that they claim.
During week five I have had no new pimples and continue to see good blackhead/pore improvement. My pores look much smaller now that the gunk is getting cleaned out of there!
I decided to modify the routine since I had good success at preventing new pimples (went about 2 months at one point without getting a new one) with the proactiv system earlier in the year which was the best since my first couple years after taking accutane. I then became greedy and tried this expensive system by Obagi thinking it would do wonders for my complexion, but all it did was make my face red and give me even more blackheads.
For me, I think the key to the C&C routine working so well has been the SA wash. I'm not convinced at this point that it is necessarily the combination of both products since I noticed better pimple management once I incorporated the proactive into my routine. I do think the C&C SA wash works extremely well at clearing pores so using any number of BP products would probably work well with it. I'm still using the C&C BP wash mostly because I like the way it makes my skin feel. I'm guessing I could substitute the proactiv both a.m. and p.m. and get the same results, but what I'm doing now is working so I'm sticking with it.

QuoteTroopa: during the first week on this regimen, my cheeks were breaking out and it was dreadful because I never really had a problem in that area.
After reading how many people had the same experience with me with the initial whiteheads, I think I'll keep doing it. But I think I'll take a break from it before Thanksgiving, hehe. Thanks!
I'm not doing this 'regimine' but am using both SA and BP. I've noticed that red marks are disappearing rapidly and any new pimples I get (a rarity compared) disappear in a day usually. It's been maybe 2 weeks. My complaint is that my skin is not smooth. I'm not sure if this is from not using any moisturizer (i'm sceptical in adding a 4th product to my face) or just if i'm still adjusting to the chemicals. It feels rough but doesn't look flaky. Maybe it's the soap I use(and have for many years), don't laugh, but I use it because it's anti-bacterial...Dial. 😳 I'm scared that any changes I make will screw up the progress i've thus far accomplished I'm grateful for the acne clearing and can live with a rough complexion if i've got to choose between the 2.
TIA~
Well im trying this regimen. I went out and baught the products today. I didnt like the feeling of all the gunk on my face that i felt with dans regimen. I would get sweaty and i would feel like crap. hopefully this will work, my face feels alot better, even though im starting to break out again from not doing dan's regimen for awhile. ](*,) Well wish me luck
mgeelh, go to drugstore.com and stick Clean & Clear in the search. They've got everything, and they'll ship to Holland (I checked for you). Do I still get the $10 now that I've gone and told you this? *grin*
I know. Most products are shipped overseas, but not these because there are some restrictions #-o
mustangsally, I use Olay's face wash for sensitive skin to remove my make up...then use the C&C products. You may give it a shot. It's cheap and does get the make up off.
So, in the morning I use both C&C products and moisturize...At night I use Olay, both C&C products and moisturize again...
Not sure if it'll help, but may be worth a try.
i started the C and C regimen about a week ago and i like it so far......but i have a question......my skin gets real oily on and around my nose a few hours after washing my face......so, what i do is use the queen helene mash mid day, or another wash with the SA....but i know this isn't gonna help the problem in the long run, it just gets the oil off for the time being......anyone having this problem?...i really hate oliy skin, i always have to go to a bathroom and fix myself to try and get it off....please help
starzt - thanks so much for your advice. Right now, I use L'Oreal deep clean cleanser but I think I will give the Oil of Olay stuff a try...it hasn't made you break out? It isn't medicated, right? The L'Oreal stuff I use has vitamins and stuff but I'm thinking that it's not doing the trick for me.
Thanks so much!
Well i;ve been using this regimen for a week i think, and I am so pumped about the results!! I use the sa in the morning with cetaphil moisturizer, and sa and Bp at night. I;m almost clear of pimples and just have a lot of red marks. Also my skin tone was red before, and my skin is slowly going back to its normal colour. I can't wait to see what my skin is going to be like in a couple of weeks. Thanks a lot Botchla, this regimen is sick. And my face is so much smoother.
mustangsally,
I have been using the olay for about...maybe a tad over month. No break outs! It is not medicated. It has no oils, soap, medication, nothing...frankly, I don't know what it does have! But it works.
It has a weird consistency, but over all I like it. I removes my make up and doesn't react with the SA or BP washes that I use immediately afterward.
Good luck!
