Botchla's deals with active acne and tries to prevent further acne after a while, just like Dan's. It's not really meant for red spots, any regimen with BP in it is not really meant for red spots. Red spots (leftover from OLD acne) should be dealt with in other ways, BP can possibly prolong the healing process in this case.

I'm not sure what treatment Delnas is, but I think its meant specifically for red spots isn't it? (Is that the egg white + vinegar regimen?)

Personally, I'm doing this regimen and am going to continue doing so until I'm sure that I've grown out of acne (if I do)... I may move on to something less extreme of course someday. But I'm not going to accelerate the fading of my red spots most likely, too much of a hassle for me...

so are you having success with this regimen?

It's day three for me.

I've experienced no redness and VERY little drying. I have used so much crap, and I think I even used a 10% BP wash several years ago that was about ten times more drying then this. I've cut my moisturizer use to less then a fifth of what I was using on Dans Regimen and I'm much less dry then on his. In fact I'm pretty sure I'm leaving both on for a bit over a minute but still very little drying.

I've noticed several whiteheads coming out in one area of my face. Not much in the way of clearing, but it's early. Despite the urge to go back I promise to stick with this at least until week 2.

This is such an easy and time freeing, I really hope it ends up working for me.

I have been using Blotcha's regime for slightly over a month now. This is my second post on this thread and my face is much clearer than 2 weeks ago. There are still red marks and it's not completely smooth but I think it's working. I still get a couple of cysts everywhere and I think I read some posts saying that the regime doesn't do much for cysts? Anyway I'll post again a couple weeks later. Thanks Blotcha for sharing this information. It's making many people smile more.

oh yeah... I forgot to add that after using these two products together, my oilyness seems to have reduced and so does my T zone. I don't need to use any moisturiser anymore although maybe it is because it's summer but it's still pretty dry climate over here in Australia. So yeah... winter's coming and I'll know if my face gets too dry but for now, it's reduce the oil and dryness of the face. Ciaos!

Alright, I've been on this regimen for a month and some change. At first it made my face hell, then it improved by 90%, then hell again and finally it's been hell. Yes, I dont get cysts anymore and the pimples on my forehead are gone but it's not worth the damage that it did to my cheeks. I have little dots all over my cheeks. Eventually they get inflamed and become GIGANTIC zits. And my face feels so itchy all the time. It's just not comfortable. Honestly, I haven't seen any worth improvements with this regimen. I'm going to quit it. I'm going to the derm tomorrow and hopefully he/she will give me a miracle!!!!

Oh, the ONLY thing that actually cleared me COMPLETELY was the VICHY line. It's European but now you can get it at CVS stores (the ones that are open 24 hours).

My face was 100% clear but I got ONE zit on my forehead and quit the regimen. I was such a dumbass. I am going back to the VICHY products and hopefully will see the same results as before and maybe the derm stuff is going to help FOR ONCE!

Good luck everyone and let me know how this regimen works out for you!

Bad news

Today is exactly one month since I first started this regimen. I decided I would give it my all and follow it to the 'T'.

Well, after three days of using it, my acne suddenly vanished. I had it going on REALLY bad (I think because a prior BP 'initial' outbreak from other stuff I was using). No new acne formed for an entire week, and all spots went down or disappeared completely. I decided not to get my hopes up though and waited it out.

Well my suspicions were confirmed. Shortly after a week of starting this regimen, I started getting fresh pimples all over my face. Mainly just some large ones on my cheeks and tiny ones on my forehead.

It was odd. Some days I would wake up and ALL pimples on my face would have no puss, would be significantly smaller, and I would have no new ones. Other days while using this I would wake up and ALL pimples filled with puss, inflamed, and I had new ones popping up all over. I tried my best to notice some pattern (if I rubbed the face harder would it make them worse, washing my face too much after putting it on, etc).. but came up with nothing.

Four weeks after starting it, the same holds true. At the moment I have two large (cyst you could say) on my cheeks and random tiny ones on different parts of my face. I guess I will be giving up on this regimen... from all the responses here it really sounded promising, but didn't pan out for me. I must say though if I ever use another BP product again it will be the face wash, not the all-day-cream. I had no problems with dry skin on this regimen.

I'm thinking as a last ditch effort I might try doing the two SA wash, two BP wash per day method that some mentioned in this thread. I don't know if it will do any good, most people seemed to have success doing it with just two SA, one BP wash per day.

My method for this regimen was: Wake up, take a shower. -Gently- spread SA wash on my face for about 1 min, then thoroughly splash my face to clean it all off. Repeated this again before bed, except I used BP wash then. Spread it around my face then washed it off thoroughly too. Is there something I did wrong with this regimen? I'm totally out of ideas now.

As I mentioned before, this regimen gave me gazillion little bumps all over my face. Nothing worked to get rid of them. I finally went to the derm on monday and he gave me Tazorac and Clenia. I've been using it since Monday and I have THREE bumps left!! ONLY THREE!!

Has anyone used these two before?

I'm starting this regimen today at last

I've wanted to try it for quite some time because I think it'll work wonders for me (although I seem to think that about every regimen I try!)

I love how simple it is, and the only addition/change that I made is applying Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture SPF15 in the morning after the BHCS.

Wish me luck!!!

Just a few questions for anyone who knows about Botchla's regimen....

First, does the BP in this prolong red marks?

Secondly, has anyone used green tea toner with this? How has it worked for you?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I've done this for a month now day and night. It has done great for me, at least 70% clearer, but I still break out like once a week on it. Has anyone found they got better results from only applying the BP at night rather the twice? Also, while it is working well. Does it really get better results the longer you use it? Because it doesn't really appear to be completely clearing me and I'm really feeling an urge to start changing it...

I'm on week two-ish of this regimen. HOLY CRAP! My face is gradually looking much, much better and I haven't broken out in over a week

As long as I lightly moisturize in the morning, my face doesn't get overly dry- a breakthrough!

I've decided I'm going to try this for one full week. The results sound grand, and it's cheap, and if it doesn't work, I've still got good ole Pro-Activ *coughcough* to go back to.

I will keep you folks posted on this!

PLEASE keep posting your results, folks!

Well I'm about a month and a half in. I'd say I've gone from 70% clear to 30% in the past two weeks.

I didn't really change anything but I've just been getting more and more breakouts. I'm seriously considering stopping or majorly changing it up.

I'm stopping the SA wash for a few days to see if maybe the cetyl in it is breaking me out, in which case I'll switch SA washes with something that has no comedonic (or whatever it's called) ingrediants and see what happens. If I just get worse without the SA wash I guess I'll go back to using it for the moment and start looking for a better regimen.

After reading ALL 59 pages, I'm giving this a shot. It seems to do well for more people than not. The best results are the long term (that means 1 month + for me) and I think it may be worth it. And a HELL lot less expensive than Pro Activ.

I did incoperate Neutrogene Oil Free Moistureizer with SPF 15 into the regimen, however. I have dry skin.

But I have faith. And I'll keep updating.

Day Two: No noticiable change in appearance or texture, but damn that stuff feels great.

I have been one this regimen for 1 and a half day. It gets major points for being so cheap. ^^ I have mild-moderate (more on the mild side) acne and I think that I have cleared a little bit already. I haven't had any initial breakout yet. The first time I did it, I got really dry, so I used Cetaphil non-SPF moisturizer. It was really light and worked. But afterwards, all smooth sailing. Although it sometimes is tingly after I use it.

I have two quesitons though.

1. What vitamins can I take with this? I was thinking of taking multi-vitamin and fish oil caplets/things/yea... lol.

2. Does this work for back and chest acne? I have a lot of my back and only some on my chest. I used to use Neutrogena acne body wash, but it wasn't making any progress. Now I do the same thing to my back and chest as my face. Anyone have any result with using this?

Day four: Noticing a definate change in skin texture - smoother. Small breakout on cheek - nothing big, however.

Day Five: Noticable changes - less redness, definate smoother skin - acne clearing up in leaps and bounds. Also seems to make the larger zits go down faster....

Hello everyone I have read all 59 pgs too and I am finally going to try this C& C regimen this week. I am skepitcal bc after 10yrs I feel nothing works and I am so emotionally exhausted with trying to find "a cure", so I will settle for this it sounds logical to me with all the reasons the acne forms under our skin, and why it could clear us up. However, for those of us who can't use products with oil there is the Clean & Clear Oil free Cleanser that could possibly be substituted. Don't know if it would be as effective, maybe ask Botchla? I hope by sharing all of our research we can all help each other! Campaigning for a ZIT FREE EXISTENCE!!!! Good luck to you all and thanks to all the advice and suggestions. red

I was on this regimen this past summer for about a month and a half and I really really liked it. I had a slight initial breakout, very slight then my skin began to get really clear. Then going into my second month, I heard that it is bad to use a scrub everyday so I stopped. But ever since then, my skin hasnt looked as good. I noticed a couple of months after getting off of this regimen, my skin was full of blackheads, dry patches and small flesh colored bumps that I didnt have when I was on this regimen. Its been seven months since Botchla's and my skin is at its worst. Ive notivced that if I pop the flesh colored bumps they turn into big zits and if I dont, they will still eventually turn into zits. Since my pores are sooooo clogged I know that the initial brakeout will be horrible, but I kinda look forward to it so that I can get all of this gunk off abd out of my face. Im tired of being a product junkie so Im just going to use this and if it works Im not going to try anything else. Hope it works

It's been officially one week and my face hasn't really improved I don't think. I got a few more zits but nothing major. Is this the inital breakout?

Also, in the beginning I didn't get dry, but now I do. I've been using Cetaphil non-comodegnic fragrance free moisturizer. Is this bad? It works, and my face isn't greasy.

Hi AZN Tq,

Everything that you are experiencing is normal. Using a moisturizer is fine, I just suggest you dont put on more than you will need. Just replenish areas that are likely to get dry. Far as your breakout you could be starting you initial breakout stage. Everyone has a different reation to this regimen. Some people clear up really nicely the first week and then breakout the second week, others, breakout immediately and then clear, and some people only show slight changes during the first weeks before they clear up. I know for me, I just restarted this regimen 4 days ago and my face has been clearing, but I know from personal experience, that I will probably start getting my breakout next week. It takes about 4 weeks to know how you are going to react. Hope this helps, Good luck.
