That's true, it is...it says that it "gently exfoliates and lifts away dirt and oil". Actually, I was more wondering about the papaya soap, which I've read is great for scars. Any words of wisdom?

using the scrub everyday with the 10% BP wash only irritated my skin, less is more when it comes to the SA wash/scrub by c&c. I just wouldn't want anyone else's skin to breakout like mine did on this regimen

I been using these 2 products for just over a week now SA in the morning & both at night, wasing with the BP 1st then whilst still on face adding the SA. Today my face is looking ok i suppose not as red anyway. There is this mirror in the bathroom at work & just when i think my face is looking better i go toilet look in the mirror & it just looks as bad as ever! However today it looked reasonably well. So overall my face is looking & feeling smoother, not as red but i do have to complain about the amount of blackheads i seem to be getting!

im using botchlas sort of, i use the SA scrub in the mornings/nights, and apply BP 2.5% cream mornings and nights. the problem is that my face was getting real dry, so i use some neutrogena renewal, the AHA stuff, and everytime i use it my face breaks out like crazy bad. what the hell?

For the people who live outside the US, these products can be bought online at www.medshopexpress.com.

well, i live in the uk, and i found the SA wash easily enough, but the BP wash doesnt seem to be available.

and there is no way on God's green earth i am paying the international shipping charge that^ site wants, the product is four times the price with the shipping!

does any one know of any sites that ship to the UK without ripping me off?

or if i cant get the clean and clear, is there another suitable 10% BP wash i can try?

thanx.

problem solved.

look what i found at pharmacy2u.....

[Edited link out]

Well i dont know if this was a stroke of luck or what, but i think i found what helps me. When i went to the store to get some more C&C they were all out so i baught some Oxyclean and St. Ives apricot scrub. They have been fantastic so far. Ive also been using On-the-spot medication at night too. Now just to get rid of this oil. Thank you so much Blotcha for the regimen, we owe alot to you.

Two days now, combining sa and bp.

waiting for the bp wash to arrive, so for the moment, just been using the c&c SA wash and a thin layer of quinoderm 5% day and night. (an awful lot less than what i was using with Dan's regime)

so far..

2 new zits....(could be coincidence)

spots not dissapearing as fast since i cut down on bp usage.

dont like..

less flaky

less dry

^this could just be because of less bp, and these symptoms may come back, once i start with the 10% wash.

i do like the c&c scrub though, it is not drying or irritating and my face feels soft and smooth.

like....

does anybody know if i have to get my skin accustomed to the 10% wash like i did when i started using quinoderm?

should i use just a little bit at first, and build up to prevent my face from going red and peeling off completely?

I've been using SA and BP together, too, and I've had good results. I'm using Clearasil Total Control deep pore cream cleanser. It has salicylic acid and beads for exfoliating. I also use the 2.5% benzoyl peroxide Neutrogena on-the-spot acne treatment. Basically I wash with the Clearasil in the morning, dry my face, and put on the neutrogena, and do the same thing at night before I go to bed. I use Cetaphil moisturizer, too, but that's it. I've been doing this for a few months, and while my face is not totally clear, it is doing much better than it was last summer.

I was using Benzaclin (1% clindamycin/ 5% BP) and the Equate verstion of Cetaphil liquid cleanser for about 3 months, but since my face was still breaking out I decided that maybe the sodium lauryl sulfate in the cleanser was contributing to the breakouts. I recently decided to switch to C&C Blackhead Clearing Scrub because so many people are using Botchla's regimen with good results and no terrible side irritation from mixing SA and BP. But here's my problem- since I started using the C&C, I've been getting more breakouts, and in places where I don't usually get them. Is this just a normal initial breakout that will subside, or does SA usually not cause initial breakouts? Should I give it a try for a few more weeks or switch back to the non-medicated cleanser? Thanks.

Yes this reg can cause an inital breakout due to the SA bringing stuff to the surface. How long does it last, everyone is different mine went on for about three weeks, and a FEW there after. You have to give it time, and yes you may get discouraged but keep at it. However, not everyone is the same it could be a little more irrating to you than me, but only you can gauge that. Just take it slow if thats the case and give it some time.

I used this regimen for about a month or two. At first it cleared things beautifully, and left me with very smooth skin (really helped with texture). However, the breakouts got continually worse especially along the jawline and right in the middle of the cheeks.

I dunno. I didnt really like it, for the long run. But man my skin looked great for like two weeks. It was more than just an initial breakout after that..

Man this echoes my experience exactly (except for the month or 2 part). I am at the 3 week mark using the 2 products (5% BP in wash in Canada though), and over the last 2 days or so I have noticed my skin has alot of red bumps popping up from under the surface of my forehead and cheek area. It's difficult to explain I have never really experienced these pimples/marks before and they definately seem to go against previous acne patterns. They look like they'll clear pretty fast and definately not full fledged zits. Hopefully this is just the brake-out that everyone talks about, considering it is the 3 week mark and it seems this is the rough consensus to bring most "burried" acne to the surface. :-k

I broke out heavly up to 5 weeks into this, after that it slowed down and I a little past two months. Im extremley happy I never gave up. I was using BP wash twice a day and putting on the spot treatment after washing, and it was just too much. I had little bumps, but once I use the BP wash once and the SA twice a day and droped the on the spot treatment everything got better. I also stopped using moisturizer (I have oily skin and thats what Botch did too) and everything got better even more.

- which one is it a month or two months? It makes a big difference.

As for having breakouts some medicines (Retin-A, Tazorac, Accutane, etc) say breakouts can occure up to 6 weeks into treatments. I believe giving treatment 6-8 weeks is a good way to judge wether or not its working.

Yeah I hear you, everyone is different and a month and half is good time too...On B's reg I know I had it real bad, then good, then bad, then good, then not so bad, etc., but like I said everyone is different. Good luck

I too started on Dan's regimen with great results, but I recently swtiched over to Botchs' regimen for convenience. It's only been 3 days and I'm currently experiencing the omnipresence of the dreaded breakout. Rather minor though, just two small ones on my cheek, and another one on my jawline. Using all my willpower to leave them alone!

I've also been "over-doing" B's regimen with the SA & BP in the morning and SA & BP with a thin layer of on-the-spot at night though. Now I hear that everyone is just sticking tried and true to his morning SA and night SA&BP combo. Maybe I'll give it a whirl. Less is more right? I'll keep everyone informed.

i dont understand why people want to stick with it, if its breaking your face out after amonth then its obviously not designed for your skin type. this stuff broke me out awfully and I just couldn't stick with it, and I'm also still trying ot get my skin back to half way decent. I know they say it gets worse before it gets better but as soon as i stopped it my skin was settling down and getting better..listen to what your body says or in this case face is telling you, this is not for everyone. the texture of your skin is better because of the scrub, lots of scrubs out there can do the same thing. the pimples are because of the high concentrate of BP..I think its good stuff only if you can handle it. My skin is very sensitive and irritates easily so beware..The best thing that cleared my face up was good old saliycic acid, so I dont mind the scrub. I also like clear skin scrub for body by avon, i use a little on my face, its great...and a glycerin based gel cleanser. I also dab on BP 2.5% neutrogena, but mostly I cleanse gently and then treat, only using the scrub sparingly ..too much BP 10% and scrubbing everyday just can't be good for everybody..

So I guess in a way, us Canadians are kinda lucky to be stuck with Benzoyl Peroxide being at 5%!

For me, I've only had that minor breakout, and none more so far. I'm hoping that they subside soon and see if I can maintain. I'm also hoping to evade a big breakout that some people have experienced 3-4 weeks into this regimen. I'll be knocking on wood soon enough!

My acne is not very bad anymore and I just stop by to reply to other topics but my posts usually do not work and after typing long messages and having them disappear I'm gonna give up. I just keep being asked to log in when it should send the post

my skin must be super resilient.. i use the SA and BP in the morning and at night. i also spot treat with neutrogena on-the-spot BP on active pimples. right now i have.. one zit (i'm blaming it on the time of the month)and some blackheads that aren't really noticeable. in the morning and at night i apply fruit of the earth 100% aloe vera gel, it has helped fade my dark spots from old acne.

but i've also been on B5 for the past 3 weeks, so that might be another reason why my face is doing so well. however, i was really happy with botchla's regimen before, and am still happy with it now

Ya sushi, everyone's skin is different. I, like you, believe that I have very resilient skin. Thus far, benzoyl peroxide has reacted very well with my skin ::knocks on wood::. My girlfriend is not so lucky. Her skin is VERY sensitive to a lot of things, and her face simply cannot cope with BP (turns fairly red).

Slather away!
