Eh it's pretty good

Pros:

It works
Smells nice
Has natural vitamins

Cons:

Greasy
Absorbs quickly
Takes awhile to work

Alright here's the run down: I do recommend this product for scarring but only in small amounts. I had an acne scar on my face for months (used medirma and it made it even bigger) I've been using bio oil for a week now and I already see my scar has decreased in size. It works but it takes time, don't expect a miracle out of it. Also, it is an oily product so you only need a small amount but I would apply it a couple times a day because it absorbs quickly into your skin.

Pros:

It works fast
Vitamin E...so yay :)
Moisturizing
Didn't break me out

Cons:

None.

It's super cheap and I know there's Hydroquinone in it but honestly...it's an FDA approved substance, and you discontinue use as soon as your marks are gone so no big whoop. Plus there's vitamin E in it. Im from the Caribbean and Ive used it after I cleared up my acne and it worked wonders on my dark marks (the bane of the ethnic woman). Now im in Canada and the climate changed caused me to break out horribly :(. I'm looking for this product so if anyone know's where to get it, let me know.

Product used: Emu Oil

Pros:

Helps acne scars
Moistourizes
Doesnt clog pores
Use as much as you want
A little goes a long way

Cons:

Caused some spots (ive probs put too much on)
When first applied made face look red

Been using a few weeks. I had horrible acne all over my cheeks, this went away using BP, now I have dreaded scars... Looks just ew. Lemon juice didnt do much for me, was alright for spots. Anyway, i have seen a reduction in the size of my scars since 2 weeks ago, and so hopefully, i will update later, they will go completely soon. It has given me the odd spot, may have been a coinkydink? which i have tried to use BP for, the two don't really mix as the oil spreads away the BP. Use it as often as u want, best time is overnight... Your skin heals best between 2-3am! Wondering how it works on scars? It penetrates through all 7 layers of skin to heal scars from the source, it contains these important substances: Omega 3,6,9 vital fatty acids Sapogens (skin softener) Vits E and A moisturise and are anti-inflametry.. Also anti aging :0.

Never try any mederma product again

Pros:

Really reduced facial acne scars.

Cons:

Wish it worked as a sunblock so I could use it all day.

I finally got rid of my acne after making drastic changes to my diet; no refined sugar, mostly organic, whole meal only, no dairy products with hormones (this was the biggest culprit) and increased my water intake (bought a water bottle with measure marks). BUT, my years of acne left me with several scars, uneven skin tone and very, very dry skin especially on my forehead (it actually cracked!). I heard about Bio Oil on the Today Show and the results have been sensational. I stopped using my Vitamin E cream to try it (the cream had started to help but I had hit a plateau phase). With Bio Oil, my skin is getting smoother and my skin tone has improved a great deal in a matter of days (perhaps it helps that I'm dark skinned to begin with). I plan on using it for the minimum 3 months recommended and will probably stick to it for a long time to come.

Pros:

I have always been ashamed of my scars from teenage acne. 2 weeks ago I began using Mederma on the deep pits on my cheeks. I keep it on 24/7 and reapply throughout the day. I am consistant with my treatment. Very pleased! Face is so smooth!!!!!!!!

Cons:

No Cons with this product! Scent is fine and got used to film over scars! That just reminds me its doing its job! Mederma has changed my self esteem. Just after 2 weeks I cant tell amazing result. I will continue this treatment for months longer! :)

I never looked in the mirror without being reminded of those ugly acne scars. Just after 2 weeks I am shocked at the improvement! My face has always been pitted with ugly scars. I dont know how this stuff works but I am so impressed! I recommend Mederma but in order to receive good results you must be faithful in using it. I wash my face each morning and them apply a small amount to the scars. When I go to the bathroom I always reapply a tiny bit to the areas just to make sure its on there good. It stays on all day and night. I wanted fast improvement so I decided to just keep it on all the time! I have never been so impressed with a product in my life! Faaast improvement!!! I have spent thousands of dollars on laser treatments to help these scars but only Mederma has came through for me! $20 a tube is a cheep price for smooth skin on a woman who has always dreamed of a clear and smooth complexion. Mederma has made my dream become reality. Thank you Mederma!! Highly Recommended!!

Pros:

Is good price, is easy to use.

Cons:

It can irritate skin and make skin blotchy.

I do recommend the copper peptides but you must, must, must, go slowly or your skin will be irritated!!!!!!!! I recommend putting it on your skin only once a week. Frequent application risks hurting your skin.

There are better products

Pros:

could work

Cons:

takes too long
breaks face out

I would not use this product on my face for acne scarring as there are better treatments out there. This tends to block the pores ad break the face out. Probably more ideal for stretch marks etc. Would rather use rosehip or tea tree or emu oil.

Pros:

It faded my skin fast...I have no acne, just needed to even out my skin..and it works fast..I put a natural oil on my face first, that seems to mask the strong chemical smell...if they add a fruit smell to it ..it would make it easier to apply...Works FASt..only a 1 week and 4 days of use...I got the soap to go with it.

Cons:

None

Works fast, see results fast, add a natural oil for skin, body, etc or just straight Vitamin E first..then apply lightner. You will like how your face tones out...Im a Pro makeup artists..so I have to represent when Im not wearing makeup as well...

Do you get acne when you use it because i did in the past and do u use it with a gel?

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
