Cons:
irritation, flaky skin, redness, caused extremely oily skin, breakouts
It caused havoc on my skin. It purged my pores but made me break out in places I never did. It made my skin extremely sensitive and really oily. It left small capillary vessels in the areas around my nose. I started every other day and dosages got adjusted by my dermatologist but after 2 months I couldn't stand it anymore and had to stop.

-Helps with skin in general.
Cons:
-Initial breakout.
-Redness/flaking/drying
I was kind of wary with this product, as I tried many before. It helped greatly in the long run. Only cons is the initial breakout during the first two weeks of the medication. The other cons can easily be countered with sunscreen moisturizers (especially Cetaphil).

Hard to find. I order it from the Stiefel website. Some places stopped carrying it for some reason.
I suffered from very deep, painful cystic like acne on my nose for several months when I moved to the South. After trying a variety of things, including dramatically changing my diet, only this ended up helping. I used a vitamin C face wash from avalon organics, applied the BP gel (a lot of it at night) using Dan's method, and used a thinner layer in the day time. I didn't moisturize (my nose is that oily), and within a couple of weeks, the breakouts completely stopped. I also started using some salicylic acid pads and my nose was spotless for several months. My nose was the clearest nose I'd ever laid eyes on for months. Then, I went to a dermatologist a couple weeks ago for something else and he convinced me to go on Tazorac and Benzaclin, and use cetaphil gentle cleanser. In one week, I have a horrific breakout on my nose. I have immediately gone back to my trusted Panoxyl and am hoping it clears this up soon. This stuff is like a secret weapon.

The bottom line is that my skin simply cannot stand retinol products; it's very oily but also really sensitive, which I never knew until I was given Tazorac. I had HORRIFIC results with both Tazorac and Retin-a Micro, I'm talking completely burnt skin, blisters, clusters of painful nodules and whiteheads, and a crusty red "goatee." I finally decided to see a new derm and she examined my terrible results and she laughed out loud and said that this was no "initial breakout," and it was a big mistake for me to be given those products. I simply do not believe that you should "stick it out" if your skin is literally falling off like a leper; it's not healthy or a normal side effect. Afer all, I need to go out to work and school!! The new derm gave me Aczone and an antibiotic, and I'm so relieved my skin feels normal again. Really, if you are getting such awful results see another derm! It was a great decision for me

Pros:
So far it is the best acme med for me. It removes layers of skin which enables me to remove the hairs that cause cyst under my skin.
Cons:
dryness, peeling, burning. The first month is the worst, but with continue use you will see the difference
Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who suffers from ingrown hairs that cause cyst to develope under the skin. I have notice the change in my skin. I think the peeling looks terrible but being able to remove those hairs without scaring my skin is the best. However it does not remove scars but it lighten them up. I plan to as my derm for bleaching cream to remove the scars once I have complete using the tazorac cream. Good luck

this product is awesome. It was awful going through the inital break out. I have been on this product for almost 9 weeks and have noticed a drastic improvement. I mostly have scars which are vanishing little by little. Overall, this product is great.. i have been through many creams and i hope this one is the answer.

i saw improvement in skin texture almost immediately (HUGE confidence boost!)
Cons:
-the first few weeks were almost unbearable. i mainly dealt with two side effects: skin dryness, stinging, and redness
-cost: i have insurance (which saved me about $200) - i paid $25.
to be completely honest, i started off by using this stuff the wrong (not to mention dangerous) way. I used the .1% strength cream in the morning AND at night! i'm surprised my skin didn't fall off. although, i have to say it sometimes felt like it was about to. within the first week, my skin began peeling quite bad - it was so painful, i couldn't even smile. to help with that, i used weleda skin food moisturizer. after the peeling, i switched to using the .05% formula and i noticed a significant improvement in skin tone and texture (not because of the switch). two and a half weeks later, i broke out, but the pimples were short lived. tazorac made them heal a heck of a lot quicker than anything i have ever used. to name a few products: BP, SA, retin-a micro, differin, glycolic peels, etc. my skin now has a few acne marks, but the scars are almost completely gone. i just fear that once i stop using this product (if i ever), my acne will come back full force.

use a moisterizer before you put it on - or right after...ease into it..Right now I am on minocylene 100mcgs twice a day...in the am I do RetinA micro on face..and then organic virgin COCONUT OIL...all over my body..first time in 2 years I can moisterize my upper body without breaking out..and then I put tazorac on my arms and back (and certain face spots)..at night I do the same thing with the coconut oil and tazorac...the oil prevents the drying and my skin looks great after only 2 days! The tazorac works..the coconut oil combats the side effects(drynes).my skin looks great..I have hope after 2 years of this..(also just diagnosed with hypothyroidism..which I think is what is causing my skin problems) I'm also going to eat 3 tablespoons a day of the oil. I say tazorac and coconut oil is where its at..oh and I will pile on bacitracin too..it works really well helping with dryness...and the coconut oil is drying out a raised acne scar on my shoulder..its almost gone..in only two days

There are no F***ing pros to this. I am so pist. I went to my derm cause i was stressed about a couple big reacurring pimples on my face. Ok seriously my face was perfect before I just had a few annoying ones on my chin big deal right but i just thought i culd get a quick fix but Tazorac has ruined my life. I look like a fricken pizza!!! and i'm definately getting scars i guess they're called ice picks casue they small and sunken in but still EW. I use to be able not to wear makeup thats how good my face lookt NOW i havta wear makeup everywhere i go. I hate going out this is so embarrassing. Please somebody tell me what to do. ANYBODY

I've been using the product for a month and have yet to see any positive results. My face is red, bumpy and it looks like I have a rash, I am so embarassed to go to work I have to slather make up all over my face which surely is not helping. I have a question in regard to the type of mosturizers other are using. I am using Aveeno with cooling mentol for itchy dry skin. I saw that another review said you should use moisturizer that contains alcohol and Aveena contains alcohol. Could someone recommend an alcohol free mosturized??
