Cons:
It made my face red the first couple of weeks and oh yea, my face peeled off! It happened right away and was awful. I've now been using for two months and can see the results.
It was frustrating at first and I am still dealing with black heads but it seems to be working and my dermi said that it will keep getting better.

Cons:
Does seem to be getting a little worse. Redness and sensitivity definitely an issue now.
I have just finished my second week on taz. I'm 27 and don't have horrible acne, but quite a few bumps inbetween my eyebrows, which is where I have been applying the taz. I'm going to keep it up. I'm hoping the taz will start to clear the acne that has resulted from the use. I'll keep you all updated.

3. Burned and itches so much I wanted to scratch my face off
I am going to hang in there. I have very sensitive skin and this is doing a number on it. I am 30 and my acne has become embarrassing since being on this. I am going to give it an honest effort. But I would really like to stay inside and not go anywhere.

Pros:
Speeds up the skin's processes, so pimples may come and go faster than they usually do, may have reduced, prevented, and improved scarring, my nose blackheads seemed to have lessened a little bit
Cons:
I'm still breaking out in cysts after 12 weeks, skin is uneven, red, scabby, peely; I do not look clear or even near clear, all the breaking out has made a ton of red and brown spots.
Tazorac did not really work for me. I had been told by my dermatologist that if Bactrim didn't work the second time, we would talk about Accutane. I was scared, and wanted to try every possible method to rid my acne before resorting to Accutane, so I had another derm prescribe me Taz in combo with Aczone and Solodyn. This entire system did not really work at all for me. I just saw my original derm a few days ago, and told him that I had been on Taz, and he flat out said to me, "I HATE Tazorac. It's so irritating!" I found it to be irritating to a certain extent, but the real problem I have with this med is that all it has seemed to do is just break me out and then fix the breakouts really fast as more pimples start to come up. It just didn't get to the root of the problem. I think that it's not a very good solution for severe cystic acne. But I don't regret trying everything first before deciding to go on Accutane.

Too harsh on skin
I have used retinoids for the past 4 years but always had some blackheads/whiteheads that would not go away. The derm gave me samples of Taz .05 cream and it worked like a dream. Within a week my face was clear and gorgeous; I was so happy. My face was feeling a little tight-ok a LOT tight, I couldn't smile fully almost like I'd had Botox. So I stopped using the Taz for a day and my face continued to get tighter, then it got red and now my cheeks look like I am part lizard (to quote my derm) I have a steroid cream now because it's been 5 days of this red, cracked awful skin. Taz is a really powerful cream! Listen to the people on this site who say to use the Taz every other day or even once a week, They know what they are talking about. Eventually when my skin heals I will be more careful.

Pros:
Clears skin completely if used as directed, no fragrance, clear...only a REALLY small amount is needed for application. in this case, little is more =D
Cons:
broke out a little worse then usual during the first 2 weeks..but the results are worth it!!..lots of peeling and drying..but shouldnt be a problem if you have a good moisturizer.
This is actually the only acne medication that gave me the results i wanted. When i first started using it, i applied it at night and woke up with like 5 or 6 more pimples that were never there, i was upset and was just gonna stop using it but my doctor said to continue, and so i did and boyyy am i glad lol. After the first 2 weeks i saw a DRAMATIC improvement in my face..not only did it look clearer it looked healthier and brighter!!. I use Tazorac GEL 0.05% every night, and benzamycin(however you spell it) every morning. I wash with cetaphil gentle skin cleanser and moisturize with cetaphil moisturizing lotion(i love cetaphil). Anywaysss i HIGHLYYY recommend this. You'll prolly suffer the first couple of weeks from more pimples..but after that, your skin will be FLAWLESS!!!!! ( i got it for free too, it was covered by insurance =] )

I was sick of my acne so I went to the derm. I experienced the initial breakout after 2 weeks and then my acne started getting better by weeks three and four. However, that was the last good thing I can say about tazorac. By weeks 6 and 7 my acne looked worse than ever before. I also have acne now in places I never got it before. I am now on week 8 and it is slowly starting to clear up again. My derm gave me some doryx now so hopefully that will help. All im saying is think twice before using this stuff.

Pros:
Leaves skin smooth, reduces redness and size of pores. Tube lasts for about 5 months. Comes in Cream and Gel which is great for cold or hot weather.
Cons:
EXPENSIVE!! You really have to be diligent with applying it every night for about 3 months to see clear results. During the first few weeks you will see more acne but it's a sign that tazorac is working.
It has significantly changed the health of my skin. I've had very severe acne. After using tazorac, when it's that time of the month i'll get acne here and there but it works well to keep it under control! I've been using it for 9 months now and my scars which used to be red are significantly lighter.

Pros:
It is far too soon and it hasn't began to work, but I am optimistic. Right now I am using the samples that the dermatologist gave me so it is free.
Cons:
My skin feels itchy and sensitive. Little red blotches and bumps have appeared.
I will write another rating in a couple of weeks. Currently, I am seeing bumps on one side of my face where there usually are none, but it is early. I have used differin and it probably was a lot less irritating in my opinion. I never got a severe initial breakout with that so I am crossing my fingers.
Pros:
My skin is so much smoother than what it was before!
