Cons:
takes a LONG time to work
ive been using tazorac for what will be 11 weeks in two days..i still break out a lot but the pimples heal a lot quicker than usual. my face is definitely a lott less red though. im really hoping that it continues to work because my face has really clogged pores. :(

I've been on taz cream and and tetracycline. Summer of 7th (going into 8th) when I returned to 8th grade I was clear and happy. I've also been using proactive and that didn't do anything. middle of 8th grade my mom didn't want me doing all this stuff to my face.
stopped the pills.
middle of year broke out, so after the horrible burned face grossness end of the year and I cleared up again?! half way thru summer I had the worst breakout. Developed cysts and nodules. so the docter prescribed me minocycline 50 mg and tazorac. a month into it I came back for a check up and it looked so bad she told me to go to a derm for accutane and gave me erytho. Didn't completely clear me up derm gave me tretinoin .25 4 months uglyness.
I was like *beep* it and just went bak on taz. and got tetra 500mg. 3 months into it my face has less break outs but my forehead is like 4 shades reder than my cheeks. i have like 12 bumps im hoping befor school year ends I can be clear for once

Pros:
TAKES AWHILE, BUT DOES WORK.
Cons:
DRY AND OILY SKIN, PEELY SKIN FOR FIRST MONTH OR SO.
I HAVE SUFFERED FROM WHITEHEADS ON MY CHIN REALLY BAD, AND HAVE SPENT A FORTUNE ON ALL KINDS OF DIFF TOPICAL MEDICINE, INCLUDING PRO ACTIVE, WHICH DIDNT WORK FOR ME. IVE WENT TO 3 DIFF DERM, AND FINALLY THE 3RD ONE GOT ME ON TAZ, AND I ALMOST GAVE UP B/C IT DIDNT SEEM TO BE WORKING, BUT NOW IM FINALLY SEEING RESULTS.

Works very well as a preventative measure, .05 doesn't overdry, controls oil

Skin looks worse before it gets better, Itches miserably if you put too much
Two things you should know. This product seems like it was made for people with oily skin. It dries you out really bad if you have naturally dry skin. I have combination skin, so I use .1% on my forehead & .05% on my cheeks, nose, & chin. Second, you know exactly how much you should put on by how your skin feels. If you have been using it more than a month & it still burns/itches when you put it on, YOU ARE USING FAR TOO MUCH. I use a pea sized drop for my forehead & another for the rest of my face. It should be a slight tingle. Using too much will make it not work as well, so be careful. I am a light skinned black male with mild acne that is EXTREMELY STUBBORN, & the combination of a 5% Glycolic Acid wash, Triaz 5% pads in the AM, 10%-2% Gly-Sal Pads in the PM, & Doryx seems to be THE ONLY thing that works.

Works - but NOT WORTH IT
Before Tazorac starts working, there is a HUGE breakout period that happens almost immediately. This breakout was the worst breakout of my life and was emotionally crippling, but having faith in the product, I continued through. It took me 7 weeks to obtain "clear skin" with Tazorac. I say "clear" because the initial breakout caused INTENSE scarring, scarring I'm still dealing with today 5 years later. On top of that, I started breaking out again a few months after Tazorac made my skin "clear", even though I was still using the product. Did it clear my acne? Yes. But the initial breakout left horrible scarring and gave me extreme anxiety, and in the end, the results did not last.

Nope.
Only used it for 2 nights around 6 months ago. As soon as I woke up the next morning I had broken out like never before! I decided to give it another day and I developed around 3 unsurfaced pimples and many whiteheads. I didn't experience dryness or irritation although the pimples that came up were red. It surely left some skin discoloration but as of now my skin is looking great using Epiduo and taking 10,000 IU of Vitamin A and 1,000 IU of Vitamin D3. This product was definitely NOT for me.

Super harsh on sensitive skin
I used tazorac for two - three months and saw very little improvement. I endured the horrible initial breakout, and afterwards extreme redness and peeling that made my face look blotchy and awful. If your skin is not very sensitive and you are willing to stick it out for the full twelve weeks, I'm sure you'll get good results. I noticed the pimples it did get rid of quickly looked nice and smooth with no scarring afterwards, so that was nice. But take caution if your skin is easily irritated and you don't want something that will take a good 3-4 months to see any kind of results.

Didn't help the way I imagined it would
Pros:
Tightened Pores
Got rid of zits
Got rid of a FEW whiteheads
Cons:
Dries skin out/peeling/redness (which can be worse than acne itself)
Does not clear all acne
Doesn't work in the time frame it says it will
I started using Tazorac after experiencing no results with Differin. I struggle mainly with whiteheads and the occasional deep zit. When I was prescribed with Tazorac, I was so optimistic, mostly because my dermatologist acted as if it were a miracle product. After three full months of using Tazorac, though, I can say that it did not do any miracles (for my skin, at least). Granted, it got rid of a few whiteheads, but that's about it. If anything, it only left me with severe dryness, peeling, and redness. I ended Tazorac last March, and I am still dealing with these symptoms. To make things worse, my skin is still breaking out in whiteheads. I believe I just cannot handle this product.

YES!! finally something that works

a little drying, but would rather moisterize and get rid of the acne.
my son has severe acne, cystic, and blackheads,
we have been using both Tria Blue light as well as spot treating new pimples with the tazorac gel. after 6 weeks i compared the before pics to now, and we are seeing improvement. DEFinitely take before pics in natural light, because he still has a lot of blemishes, so didn't think it was working, then i showed him before next to now pics so then he saw that indeed, it was improving.
