Easy to find and with low side effects, but don’t be surprised if you are left wishing for better results after using it for a while. Any acid on its own is unlikely to dramatically clear acne.

Pros:

Helps clear skin, makes it smooth and more even, definitely tightens pores, smells nice, feels nice, doesn't dry out my skin.

Cons:

Hard to find in UK, glass bottle.

This is the only toner I've ever used that has made a consistent difference to my skin. And I've tried hundreds. In fact, I had come to the conclusion that toners were a waste of time and money. I've changed my mind. First got it in a kit, as a gift, and had to hunt it down after a week of use as I was hooked. It's now well beyond the honeymoon phase and still working. My skin is a LOT better than it was, very clear and smooth.

Pros:

Works great!
Keeps my face clear

Cons:

Makes my skin dry
Doesn't unclog pores

It works great, but it doesn't unclog pores of those disgusting blackheads. It keeps my face clean and fresh feeling, but those blackheads on my nose just keep getting deeper.

Pros:

This cleaner smelled great. It had a very cute packaging. When using it and after using it, your skin feels nice and clean. Attractive that made me want to buy it, but it also ACTUALLY works.

Cons:

not many. made my skin a little bit dry, but that can be fixed with some moisterizer or lotion. easy simple problem.

This cleaner works great. I loved it. I've been using it for a few months, and even my brother sometimes shares it with me. I've had it for 2+ months and I haven't run out of it yet! Its not very costly and it's a pretty cute package. It makes my face incredibly smooth and soft, and i just love it! Use it with Biore Pore Strips and it'll work even better! I use it twice a day, and makes me feel great. I can feel my clean face everyday. Go out and buy this product, for i like it even more than neutrogena! P.S. buy this at target. it's only $4.00 there~ great price for acne fighters, acne haters, and people(especially the ladies, like me) who love smooth clean skin and hate those stupid blemishes!

doesn't work for people with real acne
I've never had too much luck with this product. I used it before, when it still had the beads in it and I felt like it was more exfoliating than it is now, without the beads. I used it in my teens and was happy-isa with the results but I didn't really have acne then, looking back. After I had my first daughter, my face exploded. It was the craziest thing I have ever experienced. My OBGYN told me that it would go away on its own, but it never did. I tried this product again, but this time, it had zero effect. At least nothing that I could notice. I finally called Ninja, which a friend had recommended and I learned a lot about over the counter stuff like neutrogena. basically, it just isn't strong enough for real acne. Like not just a pimple here and there. I went on their product line immediately after the call' I was a little hesitant because it was more than what I had bought in the drug store but the results are incredible. I now have a whole line of products I use - cleanser, medication, moisturizer. I feel kind of like an adult now, not a teenager using the stuff from the drug store. My advice is if you want something that actually works, don't get it in a drug store!

Worst product EVER
This was one of the very first acne products I used and I partially attribute it to my 10 year long battle with acne. Maybe if I had never ruined my skin with this, I wouldn't be suffering the way I am now. My grandma forced me to use these every night before I would go to bed for a while, and because of them my acne was so exacerbated that I, as an 11 year old little girl, was too ashamed and embarrassed to go to school. It caused way more breakouts than it cleared and sunk my self esteem. Every time I was forced to use one, I'd wake up the next morning with dread, wondering just how many more new breakouts I would find once I made my way to a mirror. If you love yourself at all, DO NOT USE THESE!!!

Aggravated my healing pimples
i had two small healing pimples on my left side of my cheek. After one use that next day I woke up to a cluster of red super inflamed bumps that were sore to the touch on my left cheek. It's almost like a rash, product didn't work for me

I hate it.
Reasonable price, I'm a teen, works okay at first, leaves you with dry skin, only calms down redness, didn't get rid of my blackheads/pimples, and when you stop using it your skin will break out. Will not recommend.

Not for people with sensitive skin
I bought this after i lost my other moisturizer. The first day my skin felt smooth but still kind of dry. After the fourth day of using this it caused dry patchy spots in my skin and a big noticeable rash on both sides of my face. The rashes didn't go away for 2 weeks and caused a trip to the dermatologist. I had only used this product once a day for four days. Keep in mind that i do have sensitive skin but no other product has caused it to react in this way. So in conclusion it may work well for people that don't have sensitive skin. Only 1 out of 5 stars from me.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
