Pros:

cleared my skin up really nicely, i had whiteheads and blackheads

Cons:

for the first little while it dried my skin out a bit but i just picked up a great oil free moisturizer (clinique's dramatically different moisturizer)

-wash your face no more and no less than 2x a day -moisturize in the morning and use the gel at night -dont skip a day of face washing (thats what always gets me!!) -dont pop your pimples!!! ( i know its hard but they will heal faster if you let them be) -worth it, worth it, worth it!

Pros:

It works.

Cons:

I woke up in last 2 days...it's amazing, no red face, less pimples.....

Clindamycin. It's great. Except my face is becoming a bit dry, but my pimples are going away. I can see changes in my face everyday.

Pros:

smooths out skin, shrinks size of pimples and dries them up, the lotion works the best!

Cons:

small bottle, runs out quickly, the gel doesn't work as well

My PCP gave me this when I was a bit younger and I was having mild break outs. He gave me Cleocin T. The first time I got it filled and it was the name brand, the second time it was the generic. Usually, I don't mind generic. But when it comes down to this stuff you NEED the name brand.

Pros:

Easily absorbed,works efficiently.

Cons:

I have dry skin, makes it even drier.

Clingard is a skin saver and a definate keeper. It made my skin better. Just that i needed to use a good moisturizer, coz it tendds to make your skin dry.

Pros:

It really doesn't cause too many problems for my skin, and seems to be preventing the few cysts I get before my period.

Cons:

I can't tell if this is working or if I'm simply getting better on my own, and my skin has broken out again, it doesn't help noninfected comedones, or oil. My stomach has had problems since I started and I also got a yeast infection.

If you're going to bother with this acne medicine, you might as well just use 10% benzoyl peroxide or something otc. It isn't worth the prescription bother, and it doesn't really help if you have a lot of whiteheads or blackheads. Also, the antibiotic can be absorbed into your system and cause systemic problems just like an oral antibiotic, so be careful if your system is sensitive like mine. Not worth the trouble. No more helpful than over the counter products.

I just started using the gel and it felt great on my skin. I believe it all depends on your skin. I just hope-in it works and i never had acne until this year. I tried everything other the counter prouducts Which sucks and just a waste of my money. I believe Aveeno products work great for mild acne. I have acne in the fore head. Which hope that this product works. Worth a try.

Pros:

It doesn't cause any adverse reactions, doesn't feel too thick/heavy, dries fairly imperceptibly, and goes well with a little concealer.

Cons:

It takes a lot of time to take care of acne, and causes minimal results, not adequate for spot treatments.

Even though it's fairly cheap and does take care of some of the acne, it is a long term medication that takes at least a month to work. Missing any doses of it will build resistance, and then it doesn't work nearly as well. It only works for people with light acne, if you have moderate-severe acne, you're better off with Accutane.

Pros:

Did finally work and went on well.

Cons:

Made my skin real oily and it took a long time to work.

Alot of people stop using it after a couple weeks like i did but i got back on it and it took 7 weeks for me to start seeing any difference at all i just woke up and noticed that it was working then it took another 8 weeks to finally get rid of most of them bottom line it took about 4 months but my face looks 100% better but the oiliness of my skin has been giving me a problem i might try tretinoin.

Pros:

It has cleared up my face a bit and does not dry it out one bit.

Cons:

The first few weeks (i started using this two weeks ago) my acne went down but i woke up yesterday with three new NASTY pimples and was frustrated.

I dont know how long it takes but it doesnt work very quickly, but hopefully it will fix up my bad acne problem.

Pros:

I had moderate acne and after a month of using this I had maybe 2-5 pimples. I used this as a topical and with an oral antibiotic for a month, once a night, along with washing my face.

Cons:

I had a pimple on my chest and applied clindamicilin to it and the pimple became infected and nasty looking...keep the use to the face only.

I tried a lot of different solutions and this was the only one that worked for me! Acne still hasn't come back.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
