<-- I USED THE ADULT FORMULA, BAR SOAP, DAY TIME moisturizer AND NIGHT TIME moisturizer + carly's makeup So! Im a 20 year old female victim of acne for several years now. Ive been to dermatologists, used over the counter stuff and nothing seems to work. I came upon Carley's online & decided to try it. BOY WAS THAT A BIGG MISTAKE! i was drawn by the "millions" of good reviews & thought it was worth a shot. I followed directions & did everything like i was suppose to for a month. I started realizing red patches on each side of my face, thinking the beads from the formula was the cause. but nothing of it. Even while using moisturizer my face was still dry and began itching. I then stopped using the product b.c my face couldn't stand it anymore. My face began to itch forever and ever and would never go away. I went to a dermatologist yesterday and she said i had a bacterial infection on my face caused from irritation of the skin. So Ughh! im on medication & will return every

Pros:

I've only been using clinique acne solutions for a week, and I love it. I love the way the product gives your face a clean feeling. The smell is great too. I also have used the spot treatment which is amazing.

Cons:

It leaves my face a little dry so I make sure to use a good moisturizer.

I've tried proactive, murad, and countless over the counter products. Proactive dried the heck out of my face. Murad gave me cysts that were painful and left scars. Clinique makes my face feel good. I also love their oil free make-up products. =]

Pros:

Helps for a little bit but doesn't make skin completely clear. If you stop using it, it will give you MAJOR breakouts

Cons:

Didn't help with acne. Too expensive, too long of a regimen, I can go on.

There is much simpler and cheaper products that are 10x more effective.

Pros:

Clears up acne for a while
Not fragranced
Works okay with sensitive skin

Cons:

Not really for severe acne, skin got used to it
Left with scars
Expensive for the quality

I've used the three step system for about two and a half years. It didn't make my somewhat sensitive skin red, dry, itchy, or peeling, so that is good. At first, it cleared up my bad acne, but I was left with bad scarring on my forehead and chin. Eventually the system stopped working and I continue to break out. My skin got used to it and it was doing nothing for me. It wasn't controlling the oil on my face either. I was satisfied with it at first, but I finally went to the doctor and got a prescription. So far, I've seen a difference using prescription benzamycin.

Pros:

It worked okay for about 3 days even though I used the product for almost 2 months.

Cons:

After trying many acne products, I figured I would try Proactiv. To my disapointment, the product made my acne worse. I got a couple more pimples and my face became extremely dry and red.

I would not suggest the product to anyone who is looking for a treatment to their acne. I was not impressed with the product and after almost 2 months of using it, I discontinued using it.

Pros:

Love the Acne Clinque products. I have been struggling with acne for over 8 years and have tried everything, even things my doctor prescribed. I am now acne free thanks to Clinique Acne Solutions Products. I recommend it to all my friends and family.

Cons:

Does not really treat existing acne scars.

Love it and will be using it for a long time. Highly recommended!!!!

Pros:

I've been using this product for over 8 years, and will not use anything else. Nothing else has worked this well. Also works great along with their natural soap & facial moisturizers for acne-prone skin.

Cons:

Absolutely none.

I'm 35 years old & still experience breakouts : ( This stuff really works though -- I am so glad I found it, and don't know what I would do without it. I have been impressed with all of the Carley's products, they definitely complement each other. Someone commented on the $8 shipping, but I think it is more than justified. The items are pretty heavy, and when I looked at the recent package I received, the actual shipping cost was more than $8 (even though I only paid $8.) And I received so many freebies along with the two items that I had ordered -- it felt like Christmas, LOL. The free samples are a great way to learn about the newer products. Many of these samples have led me to make a purchase of the full-size versions. All I can say is, Great Job Steve, and keep up the good work. I will keep on buying these products as long as they're around (and God help me if they ever go away!) Thank you!!!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
