Pros:

Worked for a few weeks

Cons:

Dries skin out
EXPENSIVE!!
Harsh for any type of skin
Ruined my skin!!!

In the beginning it was just a few little bumps here and there on my forehead and jawline so I decided to try Proativ. At first it was pretty good but after about 2 months my skin had actually gotten worse and worse, and it ended up making my skin have full-on acne breakouts!! I say this is a scam and I do not recommend it, please save your money and just see a doctor, trust me, you won't regret it!

Pros:

- clears up acne fast
- drys up pimples and reduces them in size
- goes on smooth
- goes well under makeup (foundation) giving you a matte finish
- did not dry out my skin
- really cheap for a lot of it

Cons:

- cant go sun tanning

I bought the 5% BP. The Benzagel brand. I was my face with Johnson's Natural Head-To-Toe baby wash. Then i let my face dry for 5 mins. When its completely dry, i evenly apply the Benzagel all over my face (excluding under and around the eyes, mouth, and nose). I let that dry. Then i apply spectro moisturizer. It works perfectly! I do the same in the morning except i subtitute the moisturizer with Vichy's Dermablend foundation (it has enough moisturizer in the formula). Ive think ive found my perfect routine :) I saw improvment after the first use. In a week my face was completely clear! I think it works differently for everyone, but it was amazing.

Pros:

It works! Affordable, bottle last forever, natural ingredients, great customer service!

Cons:

None!

I am in my mid to late 30s with very sensitive acne prone skin. I started using Carley's about a year ago and although it did take a little over a month to work, it did work and is still working! My skin is smooth and clear! I even felt comfortable enough to use Carley's throughout my pregnancy because of all the natural ingredients. I also love the daytime and nighttime moisturizer for acne prone skin. Lastly, the customer service is excellent! They return emails promptly, are very accommodating and they really do guarantee everything.

Pros:

I didn't know there was any

Cons:

The steps, the cost, the tim, the smell and the results.

Do not buy this product! I have only used it for about three weeks and I still keep breaking out. Try finding another solution to your acne problem because this one definitely does not work!

Pros:

Inexpensive
Little product is needed each day
Works as intended

Cons:

Burns a little if it gets on lips or too near eyes
You need to follow up with a moisturizer

This product works for my adult acne. Its reduced redness, I haven't had a breakout since I starded using it and my skin feels great! Twice a day doesn't overdry when followed up with a good moisturizer. (Cetaphil is excellent) I highly recommend this product.

Pros:

I've used the Kick *ss Treatment System for about a month. It's easy to use: in the shower was face (or chest, back, etc.) first with the provided soap then massage the treatment in for about 30 seconds, rinse and do a quick wash with the soap again. When you first start it seems like a lot of steps, but in about a week you don't even notice. AND it works! After not knowing what my face would look like in the morning, now it is always clear. No worries. I love this stuff :-)

Cons:

None

There is not one product that works for everyone, but if you are experiencing breakouts daily you owe it to yourself to try Clear and Smooth treatments: either the regular or extra strength. Be sure to follow the instructions. You will most likely get a smooth complexion as a reward. If it doesn't work for you there is not big financial investment and you can go on to try something else.

Pros:

Affordable
Soothing
Easy Steps to Apply

Cons:

It can dry your face

Acnee Free works for me, but it may not work for others. I have been religiously using this product for 3 days now and I must say, it worked. Less redness on my cheeks and the bumps on my chin minimized to almost completely gone. Lately I have been breaking out crazy and I dont normally do, but with stress and maybe the way my diet has been, zits have been surfacing my face like mountains mainly on cheeks and chin. It wasn't going away and everytime one clears, a new one (or a couple) forms. Uuuhg. I bought AcneeFree not really convinced it will work, but I was desperate because my face was not clearing up for 2 weeks. My skin now feels smooth and my acnee/blemishes has calmed down. It's working for me slowly and surely because by day 3, my face is pretty clear with less bumps. The only thing is, it dries your face. I use a little amount of the repair lotion. I let it completely dry and put an SPF lotion after. I use Cetaphil.

Pros:

Natural

Cons:

Gritty, irritates skin, weird smell, oily

I would not recommend Carly's to anyone with more than mild acne. I have moderately severe acne and it did absolutely nothing to help.. In fact, the face wash was super gritty and it made my face red and irritated. The soap is oily and makes my face feel awful, also. I won't say that this product is a "scam" like others have said.. I think it probably works for those who have mild cosmetic acne. For people with more severe/hormonal acne, this will do nothing, just as most topical regimines do nothing. More severe acne must be treated internally.I am going back on birth control pills.. those are the only thing that work for me.

Pros:

-Clears Acne
-Controls oily skin
-Not so expensive
-Clean face feeling

Cons:

-Dries skin
-Redness when you wash

Thia has been the product that's controlled my acne. Ive been trying many products out there and none seem to work out. With this product you see results in like 2 weeks, but don't give up finish the treatment that's when you get better results. I also drink plenty of water during the day. I reccomennd for you to buy a moisturizer that's oil free from clinique apply it once I finish the last step pf the system! Hope this works for you. P.s. acne is pain in the ass!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
