I would not risk using this product
I worked very closely with my consultant and did everything right. My skin just kept getting worse and worse. My cheeks were filled with huge cystic pimples that were very painful. There are some people that seem to like the product, but I see a lot more bad reviews than good. The product is way too expensive. I sent in my product 1 month before the trial ended and I never received my money back guarantee. So with that being said, I basically paid $190 for the worse acne of my life. They aren't consistent with giving you your money back so I wouldn't trust that either. If you are suffering from acne, I would not risk it with this company. Try something more natural and use a honey and cinnamon mask for 15 min 3 times a week. Moisturize with face lotion after washing your face every night. In the mornings don't wash your face, just splash it with some water and put sunscreen on right after. My Face is doing 50x better with doing this although I'm not sure if the acne scars that I got from using this kit will ever go away.

Bad product by an even worse company
Problem #1:
I used this product from the ages of 16-18. The product had worked great then and I got off of it when my skin became immune to it. I am now 22 and I just reordered it because my skin had become immune to a different product I have been using for the past couple years. I had ordered through the Proactiv website and they had a promo for free little goodies. I received the shipment about a week later and tried it a day after that. The product completely dried out my skin! I have never used any product that dried my skin out quite like this one. I attempted to the use the product 3 times. It took 4 days for my skin to recover between those uses. So I used the product for roughly 12 days. If you use the product in the 3 step recommended dose, the cleanser comes first, then the toner, and then the lotion. The lotion could not save my skin from the severe dryness caused by the cleanser. Problem #2:
Recurring charges. The initial product cost around $35 with shipping and handling. After the attempted use the first month, I was adamant about not using this product again. A month later, I am hit with a $42 charge to my card. When I called their customer service, they had told me that they had shipped out another box and I can expect a $42 charge every month until I cancel the product and a new box of garbage skin care as well. I told them to cancel it and that I wanted a refund for the last box they had sent. They asked me around 20 questions as to why the product didn't work for me and even If I had to seek medical attention from the use of their product, as if many customers had to. I asked them how I would go about returning the product and receiving a refund. They told me that I had to pay out of pocket to return and that a return label would be sent to me in the next 7-10 business days. Looking at the weight of the box and dimensions, that's about $15 out-of-pocket just to receive $42 back ($27 outcome). She then told me to hold onto the first bottles I had received from last month for the next 30 days and told me that I could possibly receive a call from them asking me to return them to the company at my expense. If I receive no call, then just toss them in the garbage, a waste of $35 again. My only advice to you is being very careful around this predatory company because they will try to take advantage of every penny they can get out of you. I would recommend going for a product you can purchase in store and have the option of returning in store to avoid any issues you may have if this product doesn't seem to work for you.

Great for Acne!
I think this product is great, especially if you have under the skin pimples, the small ones it really works wonders in drying them up in a few days after using this product I noticed a difference. But, with cystic acne the process may take a while longer, however it really does dry the acne up, downside since its a drying agent my skin becomes a little flaky and peels off, but I just place it in the affected areas.
I highly recommend this product, but make sure you stick to it religiously. I apply it twice a day, once after uni when I'm home and the other time before I sleep, but apply a very thin layer as to not cause skin irritation.
I do recommend that you put on some oil free, non-comedogenic moisturizer in the morning since this is very drying, I skip that part because well I haven't found the right moisturizer that doesn't break me out so.. yeah!
This product works great for me, hope you notice a difference too :)

Contains Bleach!!!
On the bottle it says it may bleach died stuff. but actually it MOST CERTAINLY will bleach everything it touches. I got the smallest little dot of this stuff on my towel when i was drying my hands and EVERY single one of my towels came out of the wash lookin like acid wash jeans. You have to wash it all off in the sink when you use it, and if you don't, use a paper towel and throw it away immediately afterwards. One time i set the paper towel down on a pink piece of paper and within 10 minutes, there was a white dot in the center of the piece of paper because the x out sucked all the pink pigment out. If you want to do this to your skin, so be it... but im not gonna use this product again.

Something that actually WORKS!!!
I can't believe how much money I've spent in just the last year on expensive face washes and treatments and this magic wash has been right under my nose all along! Little back story. I'm 19 and have had moderate hormonal acne for 5 years now. If you didn't already know hormonal acne can't really be treated by topical products. It's what's going on in the inside. So a year ago I was on a birth control that is known for also treating hormonal acne. My experience with the pill was amazing and I stopped getting cystic acne on my cheeks, chin, and jaw line. 7 months latter i quit taking the pill. It's now been a year since i been off it and my face and shoulders are breaking out like they used to. So i made a appointment to get back on the pill. But in the mean time I wanted to get a strong face wash, because i literally had so much painful-under the skin breakouts on my cheeks and jaw line. I saw many great reviews of PanOxyl so i gave it a try. And wow this stuff worked for me in 5 DAYS!!! Yes I did get very dry skin but that is to be expected with that much Benzoyl Peroxide. Idk why people are surprised it dried out their skin. It even says that it most likely will on the box... Anyways I mean like scabby peeling over where the acne was....buuuut no acne was there! Just dry skin! Which i prefer a lot more than a nasty breakout. A couple days later I quit using it all over my face and only used it on certain areas. Also noticed my skin is now used to it and doesn't dry out anymore. I wanted to say i saw a pattern in many reviewers saying they used Cetaphil moisturizer after cleansing. I would recommend using this as well for the dryness and just because I feel it goes extremely well with PanOxyl, considering its gentle and fragrance free and non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog pores or cause blemishes. PanOxyl is also amazing as a body wash as well! All in all this product is my liquid gold and I don't think I could live without it!

Product used: The Regimen
Been using since 2005
Back in 05, I played around with my acne before college started. Mistake. I had a huge acne breakout, suntanned on minocycline, ended up with a bad bad complexion. Somehow found acne.org. First night my mom noticed improvement. Few weeks less and less acne. Think of this stuff like a bunch of archers at a castle gate. The archers(the regimen) and the charging orcs(acne). Some orcs get through but most of the acne is killed from a distance. This regimen takes a lot of experimenting. It can dry your face out really bad if you use to much benzoyl and not enough moisturizer. Redface in the day stuff. I love this stuff and I know what my face looks like when I stop using it. Just wear less during the day, and a ton at night if you have bad acne. Lots and lots of moisturizer during the night sessions. Alternate the amount you use at night. Try to find the balance between the drying benzoyl and the moisturizer. Balance is hard to figure out. Recommendations:
1. Watch out how you sleep. Are you smashing your face into your pillow case? Hair gel and hair stuff could be adding to your acne. Train yourself to sleep on your back or change pillow cases often.
2. Dont touch your face obviously, use a napkin. Bathroom toilet seat covers are great for wiping away face oil.
3. Shaving or electric shaver? electric could reduce a ton of metal scrapping on the skin.
4. Be gentle.
5. Be healthy
6. Breath and find ways to meditate
7. No sun I've thought about what I'd write on this page for 9 years. Kinda stupid, but when you're at your lowest (acne wise), and something like the regimen saves you, it means a lot.

Product used: Microbenz (Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%) Aqueous Gel)
benzoyl peroxide - 3.5% aqueous gel
Cons:
drying
burns - making the spot redder/brown
i use it for spot treatment (previously consistently once everyday; now at times when i have more bothering spots)
it is fast and good for treating active spots.
does burn/pigment the spot(in my case).i am unsure if it makes it more pigmented or keeps it so for any longer but yes,the spot looks reddish/brown for few days(i never get habituated because i dnt use it constantly on one spot.so it goes away with use of wash)

Not Worth This Much Money
by on 06/22/2013 21:30 Here is my comment-I bought X-out for my grand daughter and it's a good product however they keep charging my credit card a $19 plus each month with no more product arriving. I call and they tell me I'm paying for a 3 month supply.Well the first was $29 plus then 2 charges of 19. You do the math-about $70 for a few ozs...buys alot of clearasil at Wal mart. I feel they are NOT CLEAR with how they explain this automatic charge and recieve.

Product used: The Regimen
Pros:
effective, consistent, informative, lasting results
Cons:
adjusting to peroxide was not fun, lots of flakiness, but follow the regime and it will be worth it!
I have had cystic acne on my face since my freshman year of college. The severity fluctuates with my monthly cycles. Unable to go on BC, I sought help from a dermatologist. She placed me on oral antibiotics. The antibiotics helped for a couple years, but diminished in effectiveness over time. About a year ago, I stopped taking the meds in preparation of starting a family. My acne started to get out of control. It stopped being predictable and took over my face. The cysts were concentrated on my chin. There was a time when I could count 10 cysts on my chin alone. It hurt to eat, smile etc. And the overall effect on my self image goes without saying. I tried everything. EVERYTHING. I spent money on every over the counter acne treatment. I tried natural stuff to the stuff that makes you feel like your face is going to melt off. Nothing worked. I have been on this site before. One night, (after a pity party and crying spell) I decided to try Dan's tips. I followed his guide to treating acne by buying the recommended products at the drug store. I started to see results. After a couple weeks, I decided to order the products from the man himself. I followed the regime to the letter. I even printed out the directions and taped it to my mirror. I wanted to give it every opportunity to work. The first couple weeks were difficult. I have sensitive skin and I flaked pretty badly. If I tried to wear make up for long periods of time I wanted to scratch my face off. I persevered, and thank God I did! Four months after starting the regime my face is completely clear. That is right. COMPLETELY clear. Most of my acne cleared up the first month or so with my cysts on my chin taking the longest to leave. Now all I am left with are scars, which hopefully will fade with time. I do get an occasional cyst, but it clears up quickly. I did not want to review prematurely. The results are real and they are lasting. I will be following this r

Product used: Proactiv Solution (Acne Treatment System)
Pros:
Absolutely none
Cons:
How it makes skin worse that it was originally, how it's impossible to get your money back (or even stop them sending more), everything really.
I used Proactive Solution for 3 years and I regret every day of it. They are extremely alluring, those 10 minute infomercials (backed by the celebrity du jour) that promise to give you porcelain skin in as little as 3 weeks... But the sad truth is that Proactive just doesn't work. The picture perfect celeb you see promising you that Proactive will fix your skin is paid tens of thousands of dollars to say that, but you can bet that they themselves definitely don't rely on it - they have access to the best acne doctors, medications and treatment programs that money can buy (or failing that, photoshop). I wish someone had told 14-year-old me that... For the purpose of brevity, I will write a timeline of my own Proactiv experience: Day 1: The first few uses of Proactiv burned a little, but afterwards my skin felt tighter and much less oily (I made the stupid mistake of deciding that these things meant my skin was finally becoming 'clean'). Week 1: My skin became very, very dry, flaky and itchy. It was extremely embarrassing having to deal with the itchiness and flakes of dead skin everywhere. My face attained a red hue (akin to a permanent (mild) sunburn) from all of the irritants in Proactiv. Month 1: It was hard to tell, but there seemed to be fewer blackheads/whiteheads. My face was still red and irritated. Month 2: There was much less dry skin, but that ever-present red tint remained. There were still a few small breakouts. Month 3: My skin hadn't cleared completely, but it was better than it used to be. Month 6 (and it's all downhill from there): I got huge (and extremely painful) cystic eruptions, which I'd never had before using Proactiv, but as a result, still get to this day. They are large, red and blind (do not show pus), but they are very obvious and take weeks to heal (and even then leave a scar). And that's about where Proactiv's efficacy ends. Although it appears to c
