Pros:

Topical & easy to use. Doesn't dry out my skin. This is the best product that ive found. My skin started clearing up after 3 weeks and no redness, itchiness or burning like other products. It's cheaper than prescriptions & other derm products.

Cons:

Lotion doesn't smell great so i only use at night and sunscreen in the morning. They should make a sunscreen.

The Best Topical Acne Treatment.

Pros:

After wasting alot of money on more expensive products and not getting any results I went back to OXY 2.5% BP and the 2% salicilyc acid acne face wash. It is cheap and it works!!!!

Cons:

the skin gets dry, and it smells awful! For the dry skin I use CETAPHIL LOTION.

If you have sensitive skin or a first time user to BP, use the 2.5% sensitive skin vanishing lotion. Acne doesn't go away in a day, it takes time don't gave up on the first 3 days. If you have a severe case see a dermatologist.

Pros:

Works great, Price is great I only have to buy it twice a year!! The moisturizer's are excellent. The sellers are great also any question I have is always answered the same day, can't get better customer service then that and I love the free samples!

Cons:

NONE

I bought the teen industrial strength back in January on the recomendation from my sister who also suffers from acne. She had bought it for herself and her 15 year old son that plays football. It cleared his skin up during football season in Southern Cal. That sold me right there!! I bought it for myself and my daughter. I noticed right after the first wash my skin was soft and smooth! It hadn't been this way in years I'm thinking baby(I'm 35) I used this everyday without fail. They say the soap is addictive and they are right it is! I love the way the combo of the soap and the moisturizers makes my skin. I now have the dewy, creamy skin, my face used to be an oil slick!!! When I wake in the morning after using the soap and moisturizer at night my skin looks fresh no oil slicks. I just reordered this week and will continue to reorder. It is so easy to use.

Pros:

You don't have to worry about a 4/5 step process, just wash morning & night with this and straight away your skin feels clean & spots will start to clear up.

Cons:

I don't have anything bad to say, apart from how much it's now costing me since it's not available to buy in the UK.

AMAZING!!! I used this face wash the entire time i lived in Australia (18 months) & now i'm home in England i've had to resort to ordering it online & paying crazy shipping costs, but it's worth every penny as it's just THAT good. I've tried every possible cure for my skin, shop-bought, prescription-only & online medicines from the US but this is the only one where i noticed immediate results & it carried on working.

Pros:

-easy to apply
-great price for such a large tube
-helps clear acne

Cons:

-bleaches everything :(

This product really helps keep acne at bay. I've been using it for about 8 months but feel like I've reached a plateau in the last few months. It hasn't completely cleared my skin, just prevents me from getting really bad breakouts. Doesn't seem to help much with blackheads. I do like it, and would recommend it, if you would like to go from severe or moderate acne to only having mild acne. And if you can stand ruining a few shirts ad bedsheets, pillow cases, etc :(

Pros:

It made my skin feel really smooth the first couple of days and then I started getting monster zits and my face looked horrible. I used it for 6 months and every month i would get horrible flare-ups.

Cons:

Helps small zits...but never gets rid of ALL zits. Also drys out skin.

Don't buy it. Maybe it works for some people, but it was just really disappointing for me. They have really good advertising though =]. It helps small acne, but in the long run it doesn't get totally rid of it. I'm trying different products now.

It's a life saver
When I turned 12, my acne was very bad. It was very embarrassing too. I tried ALL the drugstore products, and I also tried Proactive. NOTHING worked.!!! Then, my mom bought me Unblemish. After 6 months of washing my face twice a day, everyday with all 4 steps, my skin was completely clear and it still is today

Dried my skin like no other
I have acne that really isn't too bad, sometimes I get stubborn acne on my chin due to hormone imbalances, but it goes away usually fairly quickly. However, the lady at the Clinique counter still recommended this product for me and it was absolutely horrible on my skin! I naturally have reddish/blotchy skin due to being so pale, and this aggravated that even more! What's worse is how dry my skin got, I had large patches of extremely dry, tender, and peeling skin after using this product line for maybe two weeks to a month. I had to switch from the lotion in this line to Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion because even the lotion in this package irritated my skin and made it burn! Turns out I have sensitive skin and the alcohol in this product made the problem even worse. It took probably a good month of applying lotion every few hours and going without makeup to make the dry patches go away, and the product didn't even help my acne! That being said, there is an acne gel that Clinique sells separately that's sometimes recommended along with this product, and that does help my acne without drying my skin (it's a spot treatment though, so I only apply it on my acne), hence why I gave this 2 stars instead of just 1.

Hate it!
I have been using the Clinique 3 step acne system for about a month now and it has not cleared my skin at all. I have also started breaking out with large, painful pimples. I definitely will not be using this product anymore.

Worked great for me
I started using the 3-steps, but now I only use the cleanser. The other products don't do much for me and are overpriced since I can get the same exact items from other brands. I'm 26 and have the same skin problems I did 10 years ago, so I've tried almost everything. It's not perfect, but I definitely notice that it helps. I also use it 1-2 times a week tops so I don't run into the problem it looks like many others have with my skin not responding well to it over time due to overuse. After 2-3 months of almost daily use, its effectiveness had surely faded. It was working SO well, it was disappointing when I discovered that was happening. But it's still the best product I've tried. Granted, I have atypical skin. It's dry and oily, sensitive to everything, and sporadically breaks out in unpredictable places. I also agree the company and customer service is among the sh*ttiest I have experienced, but still not the worst.

One of the best slide of hand magic shows I've seen! If you want to be taken advantage of, sign up. I recommend going to a kiosk if you need and feel you like this product and pay cash. Nothing I hate more than having the wool pulled over my eyes! But good job of taking advantage of all these trusting people. Karma is on its way!!!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
