Best ever for bacne

Pros:

Started to work fast
Only thing that has worked on body acne
Once a day treatment

Cons:

Have to put it on 5 minutes b4 showering and let it sit
It can be expensive without insurance (ask your dr for samples)

My child had both face and back acne. Her treatment for her acne worked great for her face however the back acne was a different story. Back acne can be extremely stubborn. She was given BenzEfoam Ultra. She is to use it at night before showering by applying it with a loofa brush and letting it sit on her back for 3 to 5 minutes and then showering it off. Before bed she just uses an OTC Benzoyl Peroxide cream. This has beeen the only thing that has worked on the stubborn bacne. She even tried a benzoyl wash that was 10% and over the counter and that didn't work. There had been many acne spots that have been there for months and now they are gone. It only took about a week before we could see the major change. She didn't clear up totally in a week but we could she that it was working and subsiding. Obviously because when you see a product working than you are encouraged and feel hopeful. Give it a try if you have acne on your body. If used right then it really works. Oh yes the reason why she has a different treatment for her face is that the BenzEfoam can be really harsh on the face as well as body acne and face acne respond different to treatments. Her back acne was moderate/severe. No scarring either!

My Holy Grail

Pros:

Helps teenage acne
Works fast
Good price

Cons:

none

I've tried every product out there for my severe teenage acne. After using this for two weeks day and night no moisturizer it was ALL GONE and it has stayed gone after a month. It's INSANE. I've tried literally every drugstore product out there and this is the only one that's helped. The products I had tried previously all had Salicylic Acid as the acne fighting ingredient so if that doesn't work for you I highly recommend this. It's not drying on me, and I never use moisturizer. It has a slightly tingly feeling while you're using it and it leaves your skin feeling clean and cool.

Thanks Dan!
This helped me clear up substantially! Thank you Dan for your regimen. I have fairly sensitive skin so I use only 1 pump on my face and 1/2 pump on my neck twice daily. I still flake in many areas even with using half of the recommended amount. It took about 6 months for my face to clear and my skin to look normal (not red and scaly) after starting the regimen. I disagree with those who state "slathering chemicals on your face doesn't work" because for me, it was the only option. I grew up eating well, stayed away from dairy my entire life (I am lactose intolerant), and drinking only water and green tea, and I still got moderately severe acne on my face, chest, and back.

Pros:

Quick, Amazing Results
Inexpensive

Cons:

Slight Irritation/Redness After Application
Harsh on Sensitive Skin

I found this cream at the Dollar General for a little over 1 dollar, and because it was so cheap I decided to try it. I was worried that 10% benzoyl peroxide would be too much for my skin, but I've used powerful products before and use a 2.5% peroxide cream every night. Perhaps because of this, I was able to use Clear-Zit as a thin, even coat on my face instead of simply spot treating. While the cream did cause a mild burning sensation at first and slight redness on my face when I woke up, my skin was very clear the next day. I've never had such speedy or powerful results for something so cheap, but I would really advise that if someone hasn't built up a skin tolerance to benzoyl peroxide or has sensitive skin overall, to look for a gentler product.

Pros:

This stuff is amazing! I have moderate acne. I get blackheads and cysts. I used ProActiv for a few years. It worked very well for a while, but then it stopped working after a few years. I've been searching for another acne remedy. I saw this at my dollar general and thought what the heck. I've used it for two days and ALL of my zits are cleared, and I haven't had another zit pop up! I don't find it over drying or oily.

Cons:

None!

Get this stuff.

Pros:

Cleared up my acne
Easy step process

Cons:

Dries your skin
sometimes skin is itchy

I have tried insanely many products and my face would always wake up with new acne. I decided to use this product and I began to notice that my acne was disappearing and now I don't wake up with new acne. Im astounded because Ive used benzoil peroxide products before. The only thing is that I have to put on dry skin lotion after I use this daily. Since using this, I rarely get acne. This might not work for everyone but it did for me.

Product used: The Regimen

Pros:

Clears up acne almost immediately

Cons:

Is irritating to people with sensitive skin
Flakiness is a major issue
Time consuming

This product is a miracle. I've used everything to get rid of my acne for what seems like centuries. I finally stumbled across this product and I LOVE IT!!!!!. I wish I would have started off with the jojoba oil and AHA kit though....After a few weeks my face was sooo dry and severly flaky. I couldn't even attempt to wear makeup it was so bad. In the end it was definitely worth the pain and flakiness to have beautiful glowing skin!!!! :)

Pros:

Clears acne and scars
Very few new spots
Clear complexion
Even skin tone

Cons:

Drying
Bleaches some fabrics

I've been using this for about 5 months and my skin looks amazing! I had fairly bad acne before and now I have one spot on my entire face. My skin hasn't been this clear since I was about 12! Definitely the best product for acne by far. Starts to work after just a week and my skin was clear within 2 months. I use it once a day before bed. It's very drying so you will need to you a good moisturiser. I've been using Natural High night cream which is the best moisturiser I can find to use with bp gel over here in England. Definitely give this a go!

Pros:

-very cheap and gentle
-doesn't leave a residue like cream BP
-cleans makeup off just fine
-doesn't make my skin dry
-doesn't make me sensitive to sun
-cleared bacne quickly (2 weeks)
-doesn't bleach my towels
-slowly has been clearing me up (6-7 weeks)

Cons:

-very liquidy, so it leaks when you open it.. just always keep the bottle upsidedown and it's fine
-has taken 6-7 weeks to really clear me up
-purging process gave me some cystic acne

my acne progressivey got worse my first year of college despite constant exercise and a vegetarian diet. so I started using oxy in conjunction with ortho tri-cyclen lo birth control as a dermatologist's recommendation. so does it work? yes! with patience and a good toner and moisturizer i'm finding that my skin is clearing up (almost perfect now!) and everywhere on my face i have improvement. because of the purging process i had, not only pimples, but all of my blackheads are disappearing. I noticed almost every pore of mine became a small blackhead that i could either squeeze out, or let become a zit. even those stubborn ones on my lip-line are gone! though i really hated getting more acne before seeing results. it forced every pore on my face to get rid of everything- but since i've had a zit there, that patch of skin has remained beautifully clear. that's the best way to explain it. i definitely wanted to give up on it after 3 weeks when it only seemed to make me worse though. and it does very little for the red marks left after acne, so treat those however you usually do. and clay masks work very well after washing with this stuff. leave them on overnight and you'll notice a big difference. also, on my back, with daily use, i had no purging process, and it cleared completely after two weeks. i love that because it's bikini season, b*tches! lasty, i want to mention that it has changed my skintype. i've always been very dry and using topical BP. since switching to a wash, my skin is more normal or even a bit oily sometimes. which i actually appreciate! no more flakes! and if i forget lotion, i'm not royally screwed. so OVERALL for those SKIMMING reviews.. yes, this will definitely help, but be patient. it's helping a lot more than topical BP, especially now with prevention. though for me it wasn't quite as fast as everyone else who's reviewing this. the most important part is to realize you have to judge

Pros:

-If you feel a new pimple coming and spot treat it for a consistant amount of time the pimple will NOT form!
-It cleared up inflamed pimples and black heads for me
-Didn't over dry or irritate my skin like other products have

Cons:

-Dries very fast upon application USE MOISTURIZER!!
-Must use consistently

This product helped clear up my skin almost completely. It doesn't necessarily prevent new acne from forming but it spot treats very well and I only get occasional pimples every now and then. In addition, only one pimple will form rather than two to three. I'd definitely recommend this product. **I was using an oral prescription which might've helped my skin but my skin didn't clear up until I used this product...the products given to me by my dermatologist never had these types of results**

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
